So cool Fishie. I love the pink banner

I know how you feel at times Rob. I hate discussing my Mum's health in front of her, because we both have very contradictory views of how she is and how she's progressing. We have even had snow today in London. Not much, but enough to start a blind panic at work. We have now officially activated our Amber Alert protocol.

A great review Joann. I have to agree with KC, RJs stories are brilliant and a must read. I must find more time to read.

It was all a dream. It had seemed so real. The sounds, the sights, and the smells all seemed really . . . real. I got up and went into my bathroom. I jumped into the shower, and my mind chewed over my dream as the hot water cascaded over me. It had all seemed so real; it felt much more like a memory than it did a dream. I guess since I very rarely remember my dreams, with this one still feeling so fresh and vivid in my mind, made it feel much more like a memory. I remembered falling aslee

The Author and the Beta Readers/Editors

Nice story Ieshwar. It's always good to see more people tackling the prompts.

Count me in. The Paris meet last year was fun, even with the low turnout. **notices John has yet again come up with a plan to avoid meeting me **

It was really only after coming to GA that I started to venture away from the M/M romance stuff that I'd always read. The first big chance I took was reading Kombat Kids by Ghostryder15. I've never been one for the military genre in anything (literature, film, TV), and was unsure whether or not I'd like the story. I very quickly fell in love with the story, and read it at least every other month. It was the start of me venturing out into the grown up, big wide world. I hope more readers like you venture away from their comfort zone.

Thanks for reading hun. I was surprised I managed to write a third Halowe'en themed story so soon after my two Hallowe'en prompt stories. Drink a couple of gloggs and I'm sure you'll keep the nightmares away

A really great first chapter Libby. I love the way the central characters have been introduced without giving away anything about them. So many questions. The Organization seems to hide some kind of dark secret. Why does that not surprise me Looking forward to reading more.

I'd like to say a massive massive thank you, diolch yn fawr and tapadh leat to everybody who not only voted for A Friend in Need, but has ever read any of my stories. This means so much to me. All of the winners are truly deserving, and to see my name up there with such a heady mix of GA celebs is totally out of this world.

Thanks for reviewing Ieshwar. This was actually one of the hardest endings I've written. I've done similar things to other characters in other stories, but this ending choked me up when writing it.

That is such great news Renee

Great interview Rob, and thanks Nephy for the taking the time to chat with him. -
I'm still in shock that Scotland aren't bottom of the table The upcoming Scotland vs Wales game is gonna be so much fun. I'm Scottish on one side of the family and Welsh on the other **plans to hide out in some obscure corner of the Welsh countryside**

Thanks for reading Camy. I think the ending came as a shock to everyone who read this.

I loved ARBN. I keep on hearing whispers about Tristan looking for sites to host the story. I think he was also recently looking at setting up his own blog-type site to host the story on. I wanna know what happens.

Writing Tip Writing Tip: Less Is More
Andy78 commented on Renee Stevens's blog entry in Writing World
A great piece of advice Libby, and one I try and follow with varying degrees of success. It does drive me nuts having to read a page and half of an author just describing a character. I've said it elsewhere that one thing I hate is watching films based on books. It then becomes impossible to envisage the character as anyone other than the actor/actress who played the role. I'll never forgive the casting people for Emily Perkins as a young Beverly Marsh in Stephen King's It - she's a good actress but she looked nothing like how I imagined the character, and now she is all I can see when I read the book. This advice also works really well with horror. Readers are always going to more afraid of what they can't see and don't know about, than they ever will be of what they can see. Keep the advice coming Libby. -
As those who read my blog entry back in early December will remember, I discovered a couple of cottagers in one of the admin buildings at work. My blog entry and a few of the comments from members took a fairly light-hearted view of the situation. Today, I only wish I had been a bit less light-hearted about it. At the time, security didn't really do much about it and it was soon forgotten. This morning an e-mail was circulated by our head of security advising us that all admin buildings are off limits outside of normal working hours until security ID access has been added to all of the buildings, which should be done by the end of next week. Apparently there have been a few incidents over the past couple of weeks and it seems as though my nice pleasant hospital has even been featured on a gay sex hook up website as a place to meet for fun and frolicking with like-minded cottagers. One of my friends who works in the security office told me that over the previous weekend (9th and 10th Feb) one of these cottagers (who is the tender age of 19) got his head kicked in by the guy he had arranged to meet, and apparently is lucky to have survived. The kid was not discovered for nearly 35 hours, and that was only by a fluke security check of the building as one of the smoke alarms had gone off. The case has now been handed over to the police, but the head of security is also investigating into why my initial complaint wasn't acted on more appropriately. Whilst I feel sorry for the kid, the number of warnings that get circulated about meeting up with strangers, especially for sex, seem to fall on deaf ears. I know that even if security had closed off the admin buildings sooner, this kid would probably have simply gone somewhere else and the outcome would likely have been the same. Doesn't stop me feeling like crap.
