  1. Another great tip Libby. This is something I've been guilty of more than once; though I hope never to the extent of "how character A’s grandma won the community cupcake decorating contest ten years in a row" Though I now have to come up with either a prologue or a chapter 0 for one story I'm writing, as it really does verge on grandma winning the community cupcake decorating contest Thanks again Libby
  2. I've never worried about what's hot and what's not; trust me, the last number one song I can name is Mary's Boy Child (Boney M). I love Abba, I love Star Trek and I love musicals; always have, always will. If it's not hot, so what? I was laughed at in secondary school (high school), but I was getting far more than any of my classmates were (so who should have been laughing at whom). I was laughed at in university as well, but I had a great boyfriend so I really didn't care (and fifteen years later we're still together). Now at work most people are older than me, and they love those really old things; Ginger and Fred, The Andrews Sisters, Humphrey and Lauren. Not really my thing, but as I always say "Whatever floats your boat". As far as I'm concerned, do what ever you love and enjoy doing, listen to what ever music you like, and watch what ever films you want to watch and don't worry if these kids think it's hot or not. Just keep it legal .
  3. As some here on GA know, there was the time my first BF and I got busy in a hot tub. We didn't realise the neighbours could see us until after we were both finished and looking for a towel - thankfully we were both out to our parents or we really would have regretted it. Not sure if it rates as stupid, probably more like two teens who were too young and too one-track for their own good, but neither of us regretted it for a second.
  4. Two of my favourite things: whisky and the Czech Republic (I love Prague at Christmas). I'm so jealous. At least it sounds as though your dad likes Paya Veselé Vánoce a šťastný nový rok přeje Andy.
  5. Hmmm...Robert recommends his hubby's story. Tis not the same as an alcoholic recommending a bottle of Jack Daniels I've actually heard a lot of really good things about Dan's stories, so I'm prepared to think you aren't just trying to get a bit of extra Monday sugar. I do plan to start reading his stories, but having only just started reading Chronicles of an Academic Predator, I'll have to alternate books or I'll be drawing my old aged pension (social security) before I even start reading the first of Dan's stories.
  6. Happy birthday. Hope you have a great day.
  7. Happy birthday John. How does it feel to know you still aren't old enough to drink in the US ?

Thanks for the review Canuk. I think the ending came as a surprise to many.

    Chapter 1

Thanks for reading Dolores. I've decided my anthology stories next year are all going to be so sickeningly sweet and happy, that I'll have to change my name to Disney
  12. My guess Tob is that half of daddy's lesbian epi-marks and half of mummy's gay epi-marks make it?
  13. I love living in London for many of the same reasons. Yeah, the weather can be crappy most of the year, but our summers (whilst brief) can be excruciating. This year we had over 30C temp and had days when we had over 80% humidity. Yeah Mike, that's very true. I remember summer in Scotland, it was a Tuesday
  14. Songs: I love Carol Of The Bells and O Holy Night Slade's Merry Christmas Everybody http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=AG4BPNvayWo Wizzard's I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=kx4Cyhf_neU
  15. He was so well loved and will be greatly missed by everyone whose life he touched. My deepest sympathies to Daz and Karl's family.
  16. OK, but if I get told off by Cia I'm bringing you down with me

    I'm so wicked

Since it's coming to the end of the year, it's time for us to start clearing out our old files. Anything that is over seven years old (so any records on children who finished their chemotherapy by the end of 2005), needs to be scanned into PDF files and then all of the paper records have to be shredded. Now since this is always a huge undertaking (usually takes until the end of January), we try and get some of the staff to persuade their kids to come in and lend a hand (saves paying agency staff a small fortune). One of our new nurses has talked her 19 year old son into helping out, as his university has already broken up for Xmas. The only problem is that he makes this look like the rear end of a bus: and makes one of these jealous (and yes Andy does know, because Andy peaked in the restroom): I just hope we get this project finished before I drown in my own drool.
  18. Date: Thursday, November 1st, 2012 (1500 Zulu) From: NORAD (Project StarScream) To: Priority message to Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff The Omicron Array has detected objects moving in the Oort cloud. They are most likely new comets being formed, but at 50,000 astronomical units away, they are at the very extreme of the Array’s resolution. We will monitor them and see what happens. We are classifying this as a category 5 event: No action currently required.
  19. Something deadly this way comes. Objects are detected en route to Earth, and it's now down to humanity to survive; if it can.
  20. Waynie Me is having bad thoughts **runs off and says 500 Hail Mary's**
  21. I can remember spending hours when I was younger playing the original SimCity which came on two floppy discs **wonders how many floppy discs the latest release would take up** The only thing I disliked about the newer versions was that you had to create roads, instead of being able to create just a railway, which pushed up pollution levels. I used to love underfunding the police department and creating high crime areas
  22. Hope everything goes well with your brother Renee
  23. Well I'll only be 122 years young when it comes around
  24. One of the reasons I wrote this piece was that I recently watched the first episode of Enterprise (Broken Bow) for the first time in probably a decade, and found I was still infuriated that the script writers had James Cromwell unsplit that most sacred of split infinitives.
  25. Happy belated birthday Benji
