Thanks for the review.
The trick or treat bit was a snippet from my childhood (I was the one who went as Agneta)
Murder - yes, this is definitely not turning out like the usual happy-happy, everyone loves everyone, stuff I write.
Thanks for the review. I learnt the hard way many years ago to pre-book the taxi at Gare du Nord - a group of us waited two and a half hours in the queue.
School had finally broken up for the summer holidays and Kodi and I are looking forward to our family holiday; in fact we have both been acting like a pair of six year olds who are going to Disneyworld. Our parents finally told us what our holiday was three months ago, as we had to arrange our visas, and in the case of Jessica getting her own passport.
We leave this morning and are going to Paris for two days, then we are travelling by sleeper train to Moscow, then joining one of the Trans-Sib
I have a wide range of TV series I love.
I was a child of the 80s so my favs were (and still are):
The Mysterious Cities of Gold (best cartoon series ever - and big thanks to the French for finally bringing out a new series of this 30 years later)
Dogtanian and the Three Muskerhounds (cartoon series)
Prisoner Cell Block H (the Aussies will know this as Prisoner) - how my mum allowed me to watch this at the tender age of eight I don't know
V (the original, not the new remake)
The entire Star Trek universe
There were so many others but these were my favs.
The only modern day series I'm really into is The Big Bang Theory
Thanks for the review Bleu.
The first few chapters were deliberately a little on the slower side, I didn't want to information overload people too quickly - one of the drawbacks of fantasy fiction where everything in the story has to be explained.
The first four chapters were originally only a chapter and a half, but it just read like too much info far too quickly and would have turned readers off.
Glad you're enjoying it.
Welcome to GA Marky, and any other newbies who have joined since my last post.
We are a very friendly bunch here. Lots to read beside Comsie, but he is one my favs.
Alexander Munroe was up in his room, sitting on his bed. He had just spent the last hour and a half revising for his upcoming exams, which were due to start in about six weeks time. However, while he was revising, his mind had been elsewhere.
Instead of absorbing the details of the events of the Second Defenestration of Prague and the lead up to the Thirty Years War, he had spent the entire ninety minutes wondering what was happening with Thomas; wondering where he was and what he was doing,
"Ms Dreams said she did not know how the new name would fit on her passport or bank card but hoped she would be allowed to use initials or an abbreviated version."
Bad news for her is that your full name must be used for passport applications and also on the tiny little photograph that needs to be certified. Oh well! Try explaining that one to the person you ask to sign the photo
Probably the biggest from when I was child would have been The Heartstone Odyssey. It had only just been published when we read it in school (late 1980s) and was a really moving story.
In the same vein as HIV virus you also have HPV virus and CMV virus - along with dozens of others which I won't bother listing

One I recently read was sugary-sweet; I just had to have a giggle.
I think that's probably true of any similar dish around the world - like with kangaroo in Australia and reindeer in Sweden - both of which are very yummy. I think it's to do with wanting to try something different.
My brekkie is typically a full English, so not very healthy.
Egg, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, tomato, beans, fried slice (fried bread), and when I'm feeling peckish I'll add some liver, kidney and occasionally black pudding. The diet of the British Heart Foundation.
Another great chapter Cyn. I like the way how Taz feels that the family who raised him are still his family, and that he is prepared to do anything for Dane. Though I hope the future for Taz and Tepin isn't as bleak as it sounds.
The relationships in Tepin's family is written really well. His mother reminds me so much of mine.
Can't wait for the next chapter.
