Great chapter. Those demons are getting soft if you ask me. They all recognize love and want to see Kai admit what he has and not throw it away. I love that Jem. He's got a kick ass attitude! And it is pretty damn brave to come to hell knowing you could end up being a treat for any kind of demon if Kai wasn't there or didn't want him. Why does he have powers as a human? Why was he able to see Kai when they had sex? I Was a little unsure why Shax would help him so easily though. Demons aren't supposed to want to be helpful. And if he couldn't use/want the kid for himself, why help at all? That is just a thing I would have asked if beta reading. I feel badly though that Kai feels like he has to choose between his two friends and Jem when he's gotta stop pissing friends off first lol. For a demon that has been around so long, he seems a bit emotionally immature. The sticky part is going to be how Nassau reacts to him finding love when he did something that disrespected Nassau's feelings for his dead mate so badly. He may not give up one of those feathers so easily this time! I can't remember if a human can live in hell with a demon while staying human? Nass should get over his anger at Kai though, shouldn't he? It happened a long time ago and it sounds like they were so close. Kiorl will certainly be jealous too. Here, he wants love and Kai has a human come to hell for him! Do you plan to do a story for Nass someday? I just can't see him loving someone other than Mattias, but it seems like his story can't be finished as is. I hope you will. And in the meantime I can't wait for more of these two!

Still waiting for the point where it picks up where you left off on lit. I waited for so long to see the rest of this one. it was one of my favs when it came out. I started reading again a few chapters ago and am enjoying them as much as I did the first time. This point is a great one, as Kurt starts changing and developing his 'human side.' That has an impact on Tay and his relationship and also allows Kurt to interact with others in the pack more effectively. It's nice to see.
-
I love the honesty and strong emotions pulled out of Kiorl (can't wait till you give us his story! Dying for Nassau's story too...guess it makes sense they are closer than we thought as we get closer to the story of these three). The slippery little snake is so like the creature he resembles in so many ways. Will we get to see him and Nas square off? I hope they can make-up a bit. Nas needs to heal parts of him if he ever is going to find some peace again. I don't get the feeling that Kia did it out of malicious intent. It seems he just didn't understand how badly he was hurting Nas. Like he admitted, he couldn't see past his own need for pleasure. I know the guys have been through alot, but their friendships with one another should matter too. I don't remember if we were aware of what Kia had done to Nas. It may have been mentioned at some point. Either way, it was interesting to see him regret what he did to Nas and then do the similar thing to Kiorl. At least he thought it was the same b/c of the feeling he believed Kiorl to have. He is right about being controlled by his need for satisfacion and pleasure. But, isn't that the fun of being a demon? I hope you will have him pulled into being better kicking and screaming! I like the part of him that seems to lack control. I do hope he can make up for lost time and be welcomed a bit better by his old friends and maybe some new like Vru. They have all done things that were wrong and shouldn't hold his sins against him when underneath it were friendships that a century shouldn't have shaken so badly. All of them are in glass houses. I feel badly for him, arriving home to a sense of nobody being glad to see him or wanting him around or even having a place in his own home. I can't wait to see to what degree Jem (lol...hoping you'll still pick that nickname up--) is different and to what degree it was that Kia backed his powers off to not harm him. He did seem to break through some of Kia's powers which would be very intoxicating to the demon. He seemed totally unfazed by the crazy sight he saw too!! Keep writing! Want more! we're so demanding at times.

I think it's funny that you almost transform from one story to the next. It's like reading a different author when you write these stories versus when you're writing about your bears or wolves. The rich imagery and the colorful and crazy characters in this series make it even more addictive.
-
I like that nickname too..it should stick... Kai has been around and it's nice to get his story! I love these demons. I was intrigued with (ah hell, i'll just go with Timothy's nickname lol) Jem's ability to throw off his powers and weave his own magic around the demon. Looking forward to more.

Reagan IS annoying, but I can't help but feel badly for him. We all know how it is to be young and inexperienced in a relationships which leaves you being the only one who doesn't see how it really is. He just doesn't get what a manipulative dog Derek is. Oh wait, I don't want to insult dogs! Sadly, he won't see it till he catches it in person and has his heart torn out like Noah did. Though, I do feel a little less badly for him since he's a real douche. lol 'I'll pound you into the dirt and not in a way you'll like.' lmao...that has to be a future classic line! So, I can't wait to see what the culmination is. What will happen now? Will Reagan come after Noah with a gun b/c of his misled ideas about Noah and Derek being together? Somehow I can see him being pushed to that point. (Ok, that's why I leave the writing to you guys. ;P) And when will Eli introduce some of the lifestyle at the Buckle with him.
-
What an asshole Derek is! lol I wonder why he had to mention Noah at all. I'd think he doesn't care if he makes him jealous b/c he seems to pick men he can push around and who are just happy he comes home to them. Noah knows that's how he was when he was with him. he's stronger now. Reagan seems a bit unstable. I can understand Noah not even trying to tell the truth about what happened between him and Derek. I hope Reagan doesn't do something to hurt Noah if Derek decides to lie again and make it sound like Noah is still after him.

What a touching chapter. You did a great job of making the reader feel the emotions of Benny and Yuri. I can't imagine how Benny must have felt hearing his mate mention him. Then just as his heart sped up with exitement, it must have plummeted when he thought that he had scared Yuri and would have to continue to stay away. His heart would have broken again as he got so close to Yuri and was willing to rip himself away from Yuri again if it was what Yuri needed. It showed how strong his love was for Yuri. Then, suddenly he had Yuri in his arms! Wow, what an emotional roller coaster! I could imagine how it felt for Benny to hold Yuri again after the pain of watching him day after day, fearing he'd never hold him again. How his heart must have soared as he felt Yuri embrace him and how sweet was it when he comforted Benny. I feel so badly for Yuri. I think they need to navigate this carefully. They need to tell him why he can't remember. He isn't stupid. He needs to be treated like an adult, yet he does things that are more childlike at times. I felt badly for him when he tried to think about why his mate left him in the first place. I think that Yuri will be angry if things are kept by him and he'll see it as a lie by ommision if he isn't told. He deserves to know. I am so glad for Benny. It was so sad seeing how he felt seeing other mated couples all around like his boss and Ellis and his brother and his mate. To see others able to embrace Yuri and make him laugh and share his life while he had to be looking in from the outside. He was slowly becoming a shell of a person. I hope that they can enjoy one another soon and reconnect and enjoy some intimacy, but I have a feeling that there will be some friction when Benny feels like he's taking advantage of Yuri, while Yuri will have very adult emotions and needs he will want met. You could tell by the way they both reacted to Yuri's desire to kiss Benny. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. It's also nice to see some old favs like Cavel and Bashi (do I have that right?) I wonder what they will be able to do to help. The story is getting more exciting by the chapter. I can't wait for more.

I really like these two characters. Your ability to develop them throughout the story is a strength. at the same time there is this ironic component in both of them when it comes to admitting to their feelings. you have Mikeal who thinks things through too much who wasn't afraid to admit he loved Adam, even with less experience in relationships. Then you have Adam who lives his life in a more carefree way. He works hard, but likes to play and he has more experience in relationships and yet it took his so long to admit to his feelings. It really was nice to hear him say it, though are we sure Mikael heard him if he seemed to just wake up? Great chapter.

I feel badly for Guy. Seems like Takashi and him have some serious chemistry too. Now he'll be living not too far from him...I think he's gonna give Guy a run for his money. What is Takashi? Vampire? Fae? I really wanna know He seems older too. Why does he seem to have this effect on Joel that others don't by letting his mind be peace and letting him feel his own reactions and not just his partner's echoing back at him. You are surprising me with this turn. I feel badly for Guy b/c I think he has feelings for him already. He's a bit of a player Look forward to more...soon. Wanna see Guy again, but I would like to know what Takashi is.

I tend to comment from the same perspective as I do when beta reading. That said, I'm really enjoying the story. I Like these characters. At the same time, I feel like some plot points are underdeveloped. I know that this 'war' of sorts is going to take place and John is going to help. I have to question why John would participate when he doesn't even know what the conflict is? What is this fight over? What threat does this group of rebels present? Are they human or paranormals too? Are there other vampires who will be involved or is it just Stephen and Bill? These would be basic questions that I cannot see John not asking and seems like a hole in the plot to me. Another large point that is closely tied to the issue above is that John has asked nothing about Bill since he found out he was a vampire, aside from whether his bite would change him. I think that if you find out there is this whole other world you thought impossible and the man you feel very strong feelings towards since the moment you met tells you he's a vampire, you'd have some basic questions about vamps in general and more personal ones like how old he is and how he became a vamp and when he did, etc. Though the sex scenes are very good...particularly the one in this chapter, it feels wrong that they took no time to deal with any of this. Even if you had John mention that he needed answers and had questions and Bill said they would have time after to deal with that, the basic answers about what this fight was over would have to be answered before he's in the thick of it healing injured and possibly dying fighters. I hope you can take this in the spirit it's meant. Like I said, these are things I'd have said if I beta read for you. I hope it helps some. I do look forward to more of the story!

great chapter. That was cool that Eli wouldn't jump to conclusions and think Noah was messing with Derek. He is a good and hot guy. I'm glad they got that worked out and kneeing Derek was the cherry on top. I'm even more glad that Noah told Eli he loved him finally. Eli was patient and let him come to it in his own time, which was worth it for him finally. I have to say, I find derek to be entertaining. That sounds wierd, but he cracks me up with his actions. I love how deluded he is that he can suddenly just have Noah back and how he thinks he has him so under his control that Noah will dump Eli. He has a rep to maintain yet he is the one that left and was prob seen by someone with his boy toy. He's amusing to me, even while being a total ass, or maybe because of that. Looking forward to more of these two.

...I am enjoying this story...I do have to mention though, that wouldn't he have major questions for him about the whole vamp thing/werewolf thing? Wouldn't he cringe at the word 'attack.' I mean, the guy is good in bed with many many yrs of experience, but is that worth getting into the middle of a paranormal war? They don't know much about each other. What about Bill using the word 'love' Are they mates or something? Look forward to more.

Great chapter....always nice to see old characters. When you said that Yuri is 'childike' how regressed is he? Is he mentally much younger? Just wondering. That could be one more hurdle. Wow, I didn't realize such a short time had passed since that all happened. Can't wait for more!!

Thanks for the treat!!! That was awesome to see another update. It was great to see something of the couple before the accident, though it was sad having it ruined when it became the moment they were found. Until that time, it was interesting to see how they were together since we've had no prior view into their lives together initially. How long were they together before this? Was Yuri automatically going to take over for his father like Velaku did after his dad passed? Wouldn't that mean his mate would be an Alpha also? Benny clearly didn't believe he was. Have the nightmares Benny has picked up lately? Or has he been tortured like this every night since the event? Did it increase with all the matings around him? It's a wonder he's been able to function this long. That is really interesting about the Alpha of a clan offer. I love Velaku and Natham. They seem to know more than they are letting on. I was only surprised he didn't ask about Yuri while there. Thanks again!

Gosh, it has been so long since I read Hypnotic! I will have to go back and re-read it. I enjoyed that one alot. I can't wait to see how you are going to move Benny and his mate's story forward. What can he do to help him and what can he do with the fact that he is in a childlike state? Even if he can get Benny past being terrified of him, what kind of relationship can it be? It would be so hard to see your mate affected so badly that so little of them is left. It is so sad to see the toll the loss of his mate bond and his mate is having on Benny. Does Dav see it too because he'd know how distractions get you killed in their line of business? Just wondering, I know that he can't show his Tiger to his mate, but does his human form scare him too? I know you had to tie it in, but man I wanted to see something focussed on Benny and his mate...starting the long wait for next Wed.

Scary what a guy like Lester, with a badge, could do and get away with. Poor Guy just cares too much. He has been good about trying to understand what it is to be an empath. He did cross a boundary attempting to get him to go to the hospital with the intention of getting him psych help. That is a touchy subject, but he couldn't have thought it through enough to think how it would affect him. He isn't an asshole about it. Here he meant well. I wish Mick wouldn't push the first person to care about him, who he felt comfortable telling things about him to, away. Now, coming by so much is a bit clingy, but with how cute and sweet and hot he is, I'd put a doggy door in and tell him he is welcome anytime lol!! Great story so far. I just kinda hope Mick lets his rough edges and the armour he's put on over the years to weaken a bit so he can be with Guy. I am wondering if werewolves have 'mates' per say or if they are just attracted to someone and can choose to mate with them? Do they ever mate with humans or just other wolves or 'paranormals'? I have to say that the whole website for paranormals' reviews was hilarious.

I have alot of the same sentiments as those above. It was a brave story to write. I love how you get to the heart of your characters and that your stories help us get there too. You're particularly talented when it comes to showing who your characters are, as well as why. Don't know if it's the psych major in me and/or just the lover of a good story, but I enjoy yours alot. This one was bittersweet... It's a sad commentary on how well-intended but misguided parenting can really affect so many lives. Though, Craig should have had a better sense of right and wrong that could override his feelings of homophobia, but I guess the combination of his life experiences led him down a bad road. I am amazed when an author can make the reader feel badly for (or at least be less angry at) a character whose actions you found detestable. You've left me confused as to why I feel badly for a guy who could do what he did. Shouldn't he have suffered enough regret after he caused Tania to kill herself, not to do it again? There is something so tragically wrong with Craig. Sadly, I don't think jail will go well for him and I hope he's not more of a danger when he gets out. Maybe we can see a story later on about him? Could these two horrible events lead to him finding a way to stop hating himself....and those who make him feel things he doesn't think he should? Tania was such a sad character. That was the hardest part. That innocense and big heart. The scene where Anthony says goodbye was so sad. But, there was such heart in Tania and love from a parent that embaced their child as is. I wish her end had been different and that Craig had been different b/c maybe it could have been different. It made me sad to think of others who may choose to die b/c of how they are treated for being 'different.' If only people could be more tolerant. great work.. it will definitely make people think!

You cracked me up with their mom peeing herself....serves the bitch right!! I'm glad if anything I said helped you out...don't ever apologize for a mistake...even published authors have beta readers to catch the occasional inconsistency. I think you're doing an amazing job on the story, esp for a first-time author! You did something harder by adding in the component of historical event and time and have managed to make it seem authentic. I was definitely happy to see them address the future. I hope that Jake comes around. Sadly, I've been there...where a younger sibling only knows what they learn from their parents about certain things and that can affect how they view you when a parent is displeased and going against you for some reason. It is further complicated b/c Jake had to take on way more than a 13 y/o should have to and it is easier to blame Axel for causing that and his mom's breakdown than hating the person he has left in his family, esp when they were so close. But, I wouldn't think it fair to keep Axel in a place where he is treated poorly. We shall see how it goes. Thanks for your kind words. Great chapter! Looking forward to the next.

Just like the others, I'm excited about getting Benny's story. The Carthera tales are still among some of my fav stories from any author. I'm happier yet that there might be some hope of his helping his mate to heal. I can't imagine how bad what his father did to them had to be...that little snippet from his nightmare was horrible. i'm sure it must be so hard for him just having his brother become mated and watching him happy with his mate. But, I can understand that along with the joy, it is like a hot poker in his wound, always reminding him that he can't have that when they are around. Must be tough. I'm looking foward to this b/c I have no idea where you will take it. I thought in 'Inside of you' that Jerret mentioned his mate was childlike after what he'd been through. Or am i remembering wrong? Back to wanting weeks to speed by so we get a new chapter lol.

I agree with everyone else, it was a great way to develop the characters using their 'getting to know you' conversation. I thought it was an 'awwww' moment when he stopped Mick when he got there and told him it wasn't a booty call...not many guys could turn that down! I am interested in the fact that wolves can't be created. I'm surprised they'd want to mate with a human if they can't turn them. Would their wolf be disappointed not to be able to run with his mate. Do wolves in your story choose anyone they want to be their mate or is it some fated thing like in alot of Were stories? Great chapter...enjoying the story, esp Mick's insistence that he isn't dating Guy.

Intriguing...but what the hell...how do they just calmly lay down and giggle and make jokes after what just happened. The fact that Mikheal had the same dream should be enough to freak them out...then that eerie person, or whatever it was, levatates 16 floors up and does some crazy shit and then talks to them with glowing eyes...and they just lie down and make jokes? Not to menntion it attacked poor Quinn. Their reaction was really strange. Was it someone else who spoke to him and stopped whatever was hurting Quinn or was it still the thing outside his window speaking in his head? And doesn't it freak Alex out that his dad mentions this wierd 'spear of god' shit and then the thing outside his window tells him to ask his dad what he did 15 yrs ago? Seems like he could have been one of the killers, huh? Really interesting. I am wondering what will happen next!

Great chapter...It's sad that they have all experienced such loss, but hopefully they will all come out of it. I admire Xav's strength and ability to support those around him. He has experienced so much loss and still keeps going forward. He kept the others going, despite his own pain and moreso his concerns for the future. I kinda wish you had Axel and Xav doing a bit more communicating. Hopefully going forward you can have more of that again. I think their bond and conversations have been an important part of the story and the last two or so chapters have had them talking much less, with Xav telling most of the story himself. Things I would have liked to see them discuss would have been those possible plans they could make (even though those things could become immaterial if they go home and mom dies). I think that most importantly, they needed to discuss their relationship after the war. I think it is important for Xav to broach the subject with Axel. What will Axel want to do after the war? If he had to go home b/c the govn't sent him home, would he want Xav to go with him? Would they try to go somewhere so he isn't made to leave? Their hopes for the future would be the most important thing for them to discuss, given the fact that though it may not feel like it, the war would end at some point. Something Xav could have shared would have been his friendships with Nick and Jordan. Axel had spoken about his family earlier, but we know little about Xav and his bond with his friends. I think since they were so important to him, it would have been okay to have him discuss how they were a part of his life growing up, in a bit more detail. Overall, I hope you add some more dialog in between them. Going home will be a tough thing. I am sure the mom will go off the deep end if she finds they are living there. I am glad Jake was able to come get them. What a horrible thing for him to have to deal with all on his own at such a young age. It should get interesting!!

Let me add to the chants of the fans saying 'you go, Noah! You tell him!' great chapter. I hope Noah realizes he loves Eli back. I loved Nicholas saying he'd call Eli if he didn't come out soon! lol I love 'Noah's kids.'

I'm gonna write what I would have if I beta read this for you...I feel like you should slow down a bit. I'd like to see you show more of their interactions that lead to a bond forming. My impression of Gavin after his night with Tate was that he was a bit flighty or as a person with really quick-changing moods. His emotions were all over the place. He was mad once they got to the bar, then he was uptight until Tate eased him out of his mood. Then he got stuck in the past bc of the ex's appearance. Sadly, we didn't get to experience them on the dance floor to see them become more comfortable. You kinda sped right to 'hey, we're off to home' and we didn't see Tate help him relax and become more comfortable with him. We didn't see Gavin allow himself to experience the connection he felt. One thing that didn't fit was when he said 'oh that was typical tate'...hitting the horn to say goodbye as Gavin pulled into his driveway He doesn't know Tate at all yet, so how could he know if it's typical? I think you need to do more scenes where we hear them talk and get to know one another. Let us see what was said or felt as they danced. What made Gavin want to see him the next day when he seemed so hesitant b/c of his past? What did Tate do to push past the barriers that Gavin built when he didn't want to classify himself as gay and the ones he strengthened when the ex came over and raised ghosts from the past? We need to see them bond. I am intrigued by the whole bear shifter thing. It's not the typical Were animal. So, you can tell us more about them and how they live and what it means to find your mate. I liked the interesting detail about his not being able to see his mate clearly b/c he was near-sighted in bear form. How typical is it for a bear to find a human mate rather than another shifter? What was Tate thinking when he buys a home and finds that his mate lives next door? That would have to be crazy wierd! The real question will be why Gavin would dream about Tate changing from his bear form to human form? What in the heck would make a human dream such a random thing? He wasn't sleepwalking right? lol. I would recommend a beta reader if you don't have one, so they can ask for clarifications and point out if something should be developed further, etc. Overall, I'm looking forward to seeing a new 'shifter' world and seeing these two become mates. I hope some of this helps.
