More back ground(filler), odds and ends about the fleet (all squadrons), faces from the past of family and friends. All of it interesting, but still no idea, as to what awaits for our hero. I have to wonder if the letter from Freddy at chapters' end, is some sort of clue???? Okay, I'm ready and primed, please. please, please let the adventure begin, what ever the hell it may be.

I find it mind boggling that it has taken me over five years to finally read this introduction. In my defense (don't laugh), there was, over a year of self imposed exile. Family and personal health difficulties and now the two year( and probably never ending) Covid Pandemic. Okay, so still no real excuse for a five year delay. Better late, than never??? This intro gives no clue what so ever as to why the title is 'Northern Exposure'. It does set the scene, intro the main characters (thus far) and further illustrates why no young Captain would ever want to posted to this fleet. So now we are ready, thanks for the intro, Mark. December 31 and I thought this terrible year was finally over and then, we lost Betty. I think every English speaking adult that I know, knew who she was. Eighty years spent entertaining us will do that. It was her mastery of comedy that all but gaurantees it. Gone but not to be forgotten. Reruns are forever. This article from People, tells a whole bunch, that most of us (me included) didn't know. "My mother had a wonderful approach to death," White said.
