Aawww, and I your comments, Albert. You have good instincts about all the characters, including the father of the twins. He's not a nice man. But the twins have two great guys who love them and cares about them, and now they're back in touch, all will be well. Hopefully...

Questions and Distractions

Well, it's a delicate balance between me spending time on replying rather than writing, and me feeling flattered and prodded into writing a new chapter. -
Questions and Distractions

Thank you, Albert I'm glad you enjoyed the different scenes which started crowding my head soon after finishing the first chapter. I'm particularly pleased you approve of Jacob asking their new acquaintances to verify his opinion about Russ. It was quite unorthodox and I kept worrying what my readers would say. Danes can be a little shocking with their brash but honest behavior. Yes, Russ is slightly damaged goods, but in fact Jacob has his own insecurities too, as you'll see. -
Sorry it took me so long to reply, but I didn't want to rush when acknowledging your wonderful comments. I'm glad the first chapter has ensnared you after @Headstall dangled the lure in front of you. Thank you, Gary, and thank you, Albert, for taking the plunge into another of my incomplete stories. I'm all at the compliments, and I can confirm I've visited all the places I've described in the story, and I've done canoeing on Gudenåen of course. In fact, my guess is that at least 20% of Danes have done this at some point in their lives. for reading and commenting.

Do You Know That I Love You? by Mark Roeder
Timothy M. commented on Myr's blog entry in Myr's Corner
Hmm, I may have to check his stories out. But could you tell us a bit more about the genre? Are his stories mainly romances? -
I totally agree with both those observations, @spikey582 - but I guess we have to accept Robbie isn't good at making his opinions and dislikes known in a rational and efficient manner.
-
I'm glad Hazeth is there to stop the kingdom from running Winter ragged. They need to give their Prince time off and he needs to learn to delegate.

A lot of us enjoy feeling useful, and I bet Andy (and Adam) are no exception. Of course, it's even better if you can kick the ass of a negligent landlord at the same time. It's also much easier to build a friendship if you're making plans and list of things to accomplish, or going shopping or other useful projects.
-
what did I say about Robbie and surprises. Even Tom is in on the idea, including throwing him in the pool. Bloody idiots all of them. I loved that Robbie stormed off and slammed the door. And I still think he should have asked the judge what his options were, considering he's a gay boy in the house of a homophobe. That would have been the perfect revenge over Don.

LOL, I decided to sneak in and see what C.J. was doing, and of course I had to like him proposing to Owen. -

I know I've read Graeme's story, but I don't recognize the others. Great banner. -
You're welcome. I owed you for helping with the brown cat. Good point about the pheromones having gotten on all of them in the shuttle, I didn't think about that. PS - how did you figure out it was a threat hormone? Makes a lot of sense, since it's stronger than prey or mating smell.

You know how GA sometimes offers an award in contests ? Usually Premium or various promotion opportunities for authors. Well, if you were to offer the opportunity to get a personal or story banner, Cia, I would do my utter best to win it. Just an idea for whenever you're done with all the site banners.- 10 comments

Chapter 12 Lost in the Forest
Timothy M. commented on Rigby Taylor's story chapter in Chapter 12 Lost in the Forest
I guess the question is will Hank and Celia believe they didn't kill Patrick? I love the way you slam stupid humans for destroying the environment. -
Didn't the captain say he had received the message ? I'm guessing the moment Holldu died, his glands stopped emitting the pheromones, but they were still in the air, so the wasps began looking for new prey. Hmm, did the Captain order Kohen brought to him because he wants to question him about the traitor, or because he's worried about him. Or both ?

Granger once again shows himself to be the better man, in all ways possible. He'll never do anything dishonorable.

The Valdemar banner shows a white horse (Companion) on the right side, rearing at the edge of a forest with mountain peaks in the background all lit by the glow of the rising (or setting) sun. Just perfect. I hope this helps the imagination.- 10 comments

Being somewhat of a geek myself, I loved this story of shy, innocent Mikeal slowly finding his way from inexperience and immaturity to love, confidence and in particular independence of a caring but somewhat controlling mother. I liked Mikeal as a Star Wars fan, as a loyal friend to his best friend Julie, who in turn is a kind and clever girl, and I liked his focus on getting a good education and working out what he wants from life. I loved Adam for a variety of reasons, which I've commented on in the chapters, but won't mention here in order to avoid spoilers. Highly recommended for all the reasons @BlindAmbition states.

Mikeal has his priorities right - get an education, love his boyfriend, spend time with his other friends, especially Julie, repair his relationship with his family, live his life happily. He has control over his life now, and that's what matters, not whether he knows more or less about his biological parents. It would be nice to have a few peeks into their lives at some point, perhaps a prompt or two ?
-
Perfect summary of the essentials. I also liked how the balance of their relationship gets better, with Adam also becoming part of Mikeal's world and family traditions, and of course the way they switched roles in bed. They're definitely perfect for each other, even Hyacinth thinks so.
-
Mikeal would have fallen apart completely without Adam, although I think Lily would have helped if Mikeal had been at home with nowhere to go. I'm so glad Mikeal told his mother off and stormed out. Perhaps he was being a bit dramatic, but I have the feeling it's the only way to make her face up to her mistakes. He's better off not depending on her, the way she wants him to, and he can still have a good relationship with his dad and simply be cool and respectful to his mother if she doesn't change her attitude.
-
That was exactly how I felt about this chapter. Adam keeps Mikeal grounded and his parents should appreciate their son having found such an awesome boyfriend, who even tries to help Mikeal see their actions in a better way. Oh they still have a lot to make up to him, but they can start by being accepting of the man he loves.
-
I still get all glowing with pride at Mikeal standing up to his dad and putting his own well-being before the selfish wishes of his mother. If not for Adam he wouldn't have been able to do this, not to mention not having had anywhere to go when the sh*t hit the fan. His parents have to live with the fact they hurt him by their dishonesty.
