Yes, here we are at last, I've come to the end of all your wonderful comments. I'll have to write more chapters now. I'm glad you don't mind the small tidbits about Denmark. When I have people visiting from abroad I usually try to tell them about the sights we happen to go past. Yes, Henry is a fool, but he may not have realized yet. I think he's given up on his children for good, but he'll probably keep trying with Isa. He does love and need her, and I think he was actually looking forward to them being on their own as a couple. This was actually one reason he didn't mind Kristin and Evan leaving to study elsewhere, and it was actually Isa who wanted Russ to stay at home and go to a local college. But more on this later. -

Jimmy is a man on a mission and we all wish him success, for his as well as Drake's sake. But I think he just realized how difficult it will be with all the ghost of the pasts. Drake has been abandoned by his parents and by the first man he loved. He's been caught between siblings who despise (Preston) and love (Callie) him, and he hasn't really progressed from confused and insecure teen to the man he could become. I'm impressed how patient and kind JD is, he really did fall hard for Drake, and it must have been agony to see him with another boyfriend. I hope he's rewarded in the end, but knowing your romantic heart, I'm sure he will be. -
Methinks Greg is trying to worm his way into Chris' good graces. I hope he'll have to work very hard to accomplish this. At least he's now asking and trying to be fair. It's sort of funny to have Greg all desperate for Chris' company and homely comforts like food, talk and friendship.

Ohh I loved the subtle revenge of denying his enemy food. Very clever - and Greg even admitted he's been wrong about calling Chris names. He may be redeemable.

Ah there was instant attraction between them, but I guess Greg subsequently discovered what Chris didn't tell him. But why would he object to him being born in Canada?

I like that Chris is honest with his new employer and I think Mr M. appreciates it as well. Basil is a nice butler caricature.

In the midst of sorrow it can be helpful to have things to do. But thinking back on happy memories can be good too.

I did laugh a little over the games he played with Greg's need to check up on him, but it's interesting how it makes him feel safe and not alone. The letter shed a lot of light on the situation and I think I can recall the conversation. I'll go back to the first chapters to check.

I'm guessing you mean the lake feeds fresh water into the sea, and not that salt water from the sea enters the lake ? It's interesting how they're gradually finding a way to co-habit and even seem to appreciate each other.

You can post another chapter now, please, it's been more than one day. There are good reasons for this rule, both for the sake of the author and other people. You'll notice you got very few comments on the first chapters, and this is because we rushed on to the next chapter to see what was happening. After you slowed down most chapters have at least 10 comments.

I love complements to my dialogue and I'm relieved you weren't put off by all the Danish. Yes, the snake you were keeping watch for finally made another appearance. I have the feeling all my readers have enjoyed imagining the punch and Henry being frog-marched to the car. I certainly had fun writing it. Tor does have a well-developed knight-in-shining-armor trait, which is not a typical Danish thing.

Thanks, Albert. It's a great compliment that you love my stories. I'm glad you like the small details since they are meant to do exactly what you say and add a bit of 'color' and detail to the scene. I'm also happy about Tor's name and the part about the soldiers in this regiment being called by their home town name is actually true. PS I hope you didn't miss chapter 16 ? There was no comment and since you don't hit the like button I can't see whether you read it.

Thanks, Albert. Yes, it was a much anticipated moment in the story, and I have to admit I was very relieved my readers approved of my efforts to create a love scene which was romantic as well as hot. Your paint comment made me The shoe box, oh yes, we'll get back to that...eventually. And Jacob will get some sleep...eventually
