  1. Doesn't everyone do that? Fix the problem you can, then fix the next one, and the next, and eventually, whatever the big-huge-awful thing was will be solved. Eventually.
  2. thanks Jeff. They'll manage somehow I'm sure. Even if it involves lots of false starts.
  3. thanks Gary. There might always be room in good hearts, but they are going to need another bed somewhere!

    Chapter 11

Hrishi looks at Marty's situation through the mirror of his own experiences. His coming out was drama-less and easy, he's never met Marty's parents, and so doesn't see why it should be any other way for Marty. And Marty is a musician, like he said, hardly well-known bastions of piety and intolerance, generally speaking. Marty might not have chosen to come out the way he just has... but there's no way he's going to let Leon's attitude just slide.

    Chapter 11

    thanks Ome Carlos!
  6. “Babe… babe….” Gethin shook his husband harder, then sighed softly as the man he loved rolled over and dragged him down into the warm softness of the duvet. “C’mon sweetie, let go. I can’t come back to bed.” “Huh? Geth….” “Wake up, Marc. I need to tell you something.” Gethin clenched his jaw, his mind still reeling from the details of the phonecall he’d received. Marc slept deeply, and the vibration of Gethin’s mobile hadn’t even made him stir. “Marc!” “I’m up, I’m up!” Marc glared at the clo
  7. That is my favourite quote in the entire world. I use it often.

    Chapter 11

Hrishi slaps my arse as I pass by the desk and smile as I hand him the glass of water. “You should be naked more often,” he says in an appreciative tone. “I like it when you’re not so shy.” I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t had the desire to put on clothes, but since Hrishi won’t let me wear boxers, and I don’t know if I have any clean sweats, I’ve stayed naked. It’s not like it’s cold in my room. I stand by the big picture window, which looks out over the garden and twitch the curtain aside wit
  9. Whenever I read about literature now, I can't help but hear Dakin's voice from Alan Bennet's The History Boys, in my head.
  10. Prompt 562 looks fun! I shall share again my favourite of all my prompt responses 316 (which was a picture prompt) entitled The Long Wait
  11. Goblin boy is 17 months, and already, he's such a BOY. Given free choice of all the toys here, at his childminders (both of them), at every play group we go to, he always wants the same thing: the tractor. If he can't get one, he wants a fire engine, or a truck. We've never pushed him to anything. Having just started to learn to walk he wants to stand in every puddle, tramp in the mud, everything. None of his female friends do this. He'll be who he is, and nothing we do (invite him to like horses and computers, because that's what we do) will change who he's going to end up being. If he wants to be a ballet dancer, then that's fine too. Hopefully he'll teach me everything he knows about ballet. Don't overthink your little person. Just let him be a person.
  12. and now I want beignets....
  13. I double barrelled (without a hyphen) but Cris didn't. I kept mine pretty much solely for teaching purposes. Because there's no hyphen, it becomes a middle name, and my last name is just four letters long - and the variants you get are amazing! I feel for you sweetie. Names are important, regardless of the size of the institution someone works in, and it's not hard to spend ten extra seconds getting it right.

    Chapter 1

But Vruuaska is a Son of Ifrit, and eing called by Atoki did a lot to shape who he is. Zhihao is a very different sort of demon, you'll see. As for Su Yin, that kid is stronger than he thinks.

Technically, that hasn't happened yet - you know, what with the nature of time being fluctual. the incident with the eggs is in the future.

    Chapter 1

Oh yes, demons do like their devotions! but Zhihao and Su Yin are rather different from the sorts of demons and recruits we are used to now. Zhihao isn't much like the inhabitants of Zinkara Rumah, though he shares their tastes in men!
  21. Of all the foundlings and orphans, Su Yin had been chosen as the sacrifice. He was the right age, he was the most pleasing to look at, and crucially, he was a virgin. The teenager had cried when the temple guards had come to the dormitory looking for him. He could have hid, though how successfully he was not sure, or he could have fled. But instead his narrow body froze in fear and he had whimpered as he was marched from the long room where he’d slept since before he could remember. Whispers and
  22. Su Yin is eighteen, he is a foundling child, he is pretty, and he is a virgin. Unfortunately for him, this means he qualifies as his town's sacrifice, to protect them from the anger of the yaoguai who lives in the mountains. Su Yin is sent to his death in the high temple, but the demon he finds there has things other than death on his mind.
  23. Is it possible that now that there are so many other youth group options, art clubs, and many 'unrecognised' sports (free-running, various forms of skateboarding and scootering etc) that participation has fallen because LGTBQ children are drawn to other things? After all, ten years ago at my school the drama/music departments had clubs with maybe 20 students once a week. Now school productions attract 100+ students, there is an Irish Dancing display troupe, a contemporary dance society, a jazz band, three different choirs (one all boys), a full house orchestra, at least 4 multi-piece modern bands... and all of them perform to the public on a regular basis. At least some of those kids would be doing sports if there weren't other options.

So glad you're liking the guys. Nate is... well, you'll see. Clem I adore. And thank you so much for the high praise!

    Chapter 10

I can tell you nothing! (mostly because you're far too astute!). They're moving slowly, but moving forwards surely.
