They are teenagers Sasha, there is no limit to the trouble they can "conjure up"!

Or pre-disposed to doing the same thing. Alcoholism can run in families and needs to be guarded against to break the cycle just as children who are abused tend to grow up to be abusers themselves. It's not chiseled in stone to be that way but it can and does happen. And yes perhaps we have seen more words on horses than on skating, but what we have seen there is what the horse world calls "hacking around". The competitive world is very much different. The same goes for Brad and Will's surfing - they are out to enjoy themselves, not to compete. Again if competition were involved things would have evolved very differently. JJ IS a competitive skater and handles everything much differently than someone who is just skating for the enjoyment- even if we DO NOT see the day to day on the page. Would you say Matt and Wade are not serious about hockey because we haven't been to practice daily since Millennium? I have to agree with Jeremy, Frank almost has to fall apart in the next few chapters. That's almost inevitable. But I can see Matt, who IS his grandson after all, being a key player in keeping him from hitting rock bottom, as well as the planned marriage to Isadore, and who knows what else Marks fertile little mind can come up with?

The Morning After Bobby was slow to open his eyes. He felt sluggish and foggy. If he didn’t know better he would accuse Paul of having spiked the punch. Maybe he did. It might, just maybe, explain the fiasco that went on between 11 and midnight. Bobby’s groan as he tried to sit up woke Steve. “Holy mother of stone statues Bobby – what the hell did you put in the punch last night? I don’t remember tasting anything in it, but my head fee

Shouldn't classes at Stanford be up and running, if not already then shortly? That puts Gathan and Tony back in Palo Alto, and several lesser characters as well. All sorts of opportunities to create both drama and new supportive relationships. Odd that we didn't hear anything about Matt's adoptive family through all of this. Granted there were some pretty rough times when Matt found out he was adopted, and then when the rat fink outed him at the holiday dinner, but I had thought they had settled their differences and were getting on well? Why on earth would the parents not have been there to support the boy they raised when he lost the bio-father he only recently found and came to love??? And of course there is the new, unknown quantity of Ethan. We don't know nearly enough about him to even come close to the ballpark on speculating with him. I am quite sure Mark can drive us all nuts with speculation without pulling another Jeff/Robbie look alike out of the woodwork. Maybe if/when Wade brings Ethan to Escorial Frank will latch onto him and give them both something they need - Ethan a resident father figure and Frank a reason to move past losing Robbie!

Be patient Joanne - his story is worth the wait!

That's hard. Mark hasn't given us too much to work with there.

If it were to work at all it would be BECAUSE they are a hothead and a bitch. One would learn to control his temper better because that's what the kid really needs and the other to curb the bitchiness because he doesn't want the fights. We don't know that JJ doesn't do drugs really - just that there has been no evidence of it. I also get the feeling everyone is thinking drugs in the sense of first Jeff's and then Marcel's experiences. JJ is into competitive sports in a time frame when performance enhancing drugs were just coming into national attention, and the governing bodies of sport associations were just hashing out how, when, and if to test people for them. Trainers and coaches encouraged their use, sometimes in "protein drinks" without even telling the athlete. Somehow I keep associating bitchiness in JJ to 'Roid Rage. That could explain the swings from his insightful side to the really bitchy outbursts.

In fairness to Tyler that wasn't his intention, but in the horse world reputation is everything. Thanks.

A lot of these were posted all over the place before I took the editor tag and could start a "story" for them. This one was my first and took me forever to track down in the prompts section. I've seen the "help me human" look more times than most would realize! Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed it

Promises “I never make a promise I don’t intend to keep. You know that!” “I didn't think you would stop talking to me over this! It was a misunderstanding!” “No, a misunderstanding is handled by talking to the other person. You spread gossip. All of which was untrue, and you hurt my reputation in the business. I have had 4 clients call and cancel already this morning and you just spout your shit last night! How are people supposed to trust me wh

Alicia's Halloween Party - Prompt 271
Kitt commented on comicfan's story chapter in Alicia's Halloween Party - Prompt 271
That's the way a Halloween should be! -
Sorry Carlos, but I have you beat there - first tissue was needed when I saw the chapter had posted. Oddly, very much like in my real life, I managed to get through the memorial with a minimum of tears, then lost it again when Brad was on the beach. I think Sammy is right - JJ would not have liked any place at this point. What's the old phrase? "You would bitch if they hung you with a brand new rope."? Nana dropped a grief councilor in their laps that first morning. Will more or less forced Brad into his shrinks office. I think they all could do with a few visits.

Wish we were allowed to like reviews. I would like all three of the ones here now.

lol are you trying to prompt me along too???Thanks for reading.

Sometimes I think you latch onto things just to have something to debate Brink. At no time did I ever label Twilight a great work of fiction, nor did i malign video games of any sort. What I did say is that if it gets kids to pick up a book it can't be all bad. I know people ( both teens and adults) so addicted to mmrpg's that they have little to no real life social skills. These people come home from work and become their blood elf or orc or whatever the hell it is they become and will play to the small hours of the morning, will sneak time away from work to check on their characters, and generally live in the game. I personally know 3 people who have lost jobs over this behavior. So yeah - any book that not only gets a kid to read, but also generated an interest in reading an author like Shakespeare is OK in my world.

Impossible Spots Robs mind was racing. How was it he kept finding himself in these impossible situations? There was the time the ladder had fallen when he was attempting to prune the apple tree. Of course there was no within earshot to help. And the time he was trying to fish his keys out of the gap between the copier and the shredder. Damn shredder had eaten his favorite tie and tried to strangle him besides. And the day the awning poles fell over in the workshop and blocke

Bobby and his dad really do know how to toss one don't they? And look at me finally having a second chapter like you asked!

Very similar to the first year bro took care of that graveyard. We didn't get the unexpected visitor though.

After seeing some of the really odd stones in the graveyard my brother looked after I thought it would fit right in!

what time is it at at your place and what you'd probably be doing

Who cares how it is spelled as long as you enjoy it! -
Well - people keep telling me I should go back and expand some of my prompts - here is an entry that is both a response to today's prompt and a follow up to an older one! http://www.gayauthors.org/story/kitt/toquietthelittlevoice/10

The Graveyard Party Bobby smiled to himself. When they had moved into this place a month ago most of his friends had reacted like Paul had. No one wanted to “hang out in a freaking graveyard”. Steve had been the only one had been cool about it – he helped beat back the weeds and clean the place up, but really would rather hang in the house and pretend the neighbors were just very quiet. Most of the rest of his crowd had come around eventually too. Paul was the only guy refused t

I'm not sure I understand how and why this thread has taken the turn it has? The initial discussion was not the taboo's and there is in fact an entire other thread about that. What we were discussing here was if an author should "self censor" and write his/her story in a manor that is different than he would like to make it more acceptable. One author said, and I happen to agree, that to do so would be compromising personal integrity. No one is ever going to write a universally accepted piece of fiction. People are just too different for that. As for myself, I wrote a prompt response that had as a turn of the plot a teenage girl who was very wary of men due to the fact an adult had molested other girls she was aquainted with. There was no on screen activity in this area, just a reference that it had happened. Since it was a prompt response, I did not post a tag about it in the "story" description, but I did put a warning up in the pre-chapter notes, as well as a statement in the post chapter notes. I did this so that anyone uncomfortable with the subject could skip reading that entry. I could have gone back and "self censored" the story, but I write what comes to mind, and to go back and change it to make it more comfortable reading for more people would have defeated my purpose in writing in the first place. I have no problem if someone is uncomfortable with the idea and chooses not to read, hence the warning I posted, "Warning, while there is nothing explicit, this does hint at child abuse. If the concept bothers you I suggest you skip this one."
