This is definitely the kind of story start that drives me to want to skip reviewing and jump right in. Yet my desire to compliment the author is too strong. Thanks.
No surprise that Lady Elgin is linked to the Guild. I would have thought Granger had guessed that by now. Good thing Granger figured her scheme out and Lord Elgin all but gave George confirmation. At least Elgin has a plan to nip his wife's antics in the bud and hopefully with Granger's help they will be successful.
Relief washes over me that Brad and Cody are in a better place. I hope it gives Cody the strength and kick Alex Danvers to the proverbial (or literal) curb and go after who he wants. The relief continues with Zach just having a sprain. Part of the grace of sports like football and hockey are how players can soar in environments that have high risk for personal injury. Thanks for the update.
I am always glad for a happy ending, but there are still so many open endings like the creepy blood Mage Lord referred to earlier. Thanks for introducing me to this world. I look forward to reading the source story that inspired this twist.
I've fallen so far out of the loop I'm not sure what's going on with the Dalen/Gavin love connection. Hmm, no matter the rest if the story has enough meat.
Dalen's loyalty to his mother is sweet, though completely undeserved, but it's hard to write one's parents. It's was nice opening the chapter with Bart and ending it with Dalen's father.
