  1. Hahaha!! Didn't mean to pipe Bruce Springsteen's lyrical musings into an earworm!!!! Thanks so much!
  2. Yeah, we both were a bit surprised by that, but that is the only viable governmental program now in the works. The US program isn't really doing much outside satellites, and I think that's what made me go there. Thanks for the interesting question!
  3. Prompt 3 – . . . In The Night The dog growled menacingly, with a murderous, grrr! It was followed by a sharp bark of warning, as I opened the locked door with a pick. The jangle from the burglar tools threatened to betray me, but I silenced them with the soft, pliable leather pouch. Encasing them and fisting the metal implements tightly, I gradually slid the latch open, and pushed the door open slowly. A single creak filled the night air, which only preceded another threatening growl,
  4. Concrete is a very good insulator. It's doubtful an actual lightning bolt would be drawn to a cement encased form, or would it? Perhaps that's what is happening here. Maybe the structure isn't a statue at all? Thanks for the alternative ideas!
  5. Yes, but for this week, we're just exercising our creative urges a bit. Thanks for the encouragement!
  6. It's interesting how Valkyrie went for a more sci fi approach and mine was different, though our elements are similar. This is why we are having a blast and laughing so much!! I enjoyed this immensely!
  7. There will be. Thanks for commenting and encouraging! We are having a great time and I think this will become part of something bigger.
  8. I think you're being too coy! We all have our little indulgences.
  9. The Motherland Calls Jesse looked through his bags once again, making sure he had all the items he’d need. It was a long flight to Russia and from there it was onto the space terminal in central Russia, just west of the Ural Mountains. The base, its name unpronounceable in English, could be roughly translated to Anya’s Keep. The mission was top secret and while he would be the only American on the team, his role was even more vital than some of his superiors knew. “Are you ready?” a you
  10. It would be a nightmare for me as well. I'm not terribly adventurous in places like swamps and woods, however, I did follow a guy I liked into the bug-infested wilderness once, for the obvious benefits. There are lots of reasons to engage in uncomfortable forays.
  11. Hi Addy!!! Hope you're doing well. We are having a lot of fun. Today is day two of the prompts. It will be something different, but I think I'm getting my mojo back. Thanks for the encouragement. It's much appreciated!!
  12. This is the beginning of a new story, I think. I'll be doing other prompts this week which don't follow this thread. Thanks for the encouragement! I'm having a lot of fun.
  13. I haven't written anything for a while. I'm stretching my wings and awakening my muse, hopefully. As I delved into these characters, I found the situation become more interesting. This is definitely the beginnings of something. We'll see what. Thanks so much Gary!

    A Fishy Prompt

I belly laughed with this one. Very instructive!!!
  15. The Scarab’s Eye Once upon a time in a town named Arborville, there was a young man who was bored with life. He wanted to DO something, and didn’t know what that may be. Most everyone he knew was happy with the ordinary things in life, punching a time clock at a job they didn’t care about. Dating strangers over an app that only introduced, but didn’t connect them to one another. Stefan wanted so much more. He wanted an adventure. His best friend, Alphonse, felt the same way. Alphons
  16. Prompts for the trip to Buffalo
  17. Great job!!! Well-earned.
  18. I think you're like a dragon disguised as a cat. There's some real fire inside!!! Also, I think dragons also sleep a lot. I'm thinking of Smaug on his pile of gold and gems. Great interview!!!
  19. To be honest, I don't know. It was a way to set the stage for the time and get Nels around Sven. It was probably from a relative, at least that's what I had in the back of my mind. I didn't follow up in the story with a reason for it. Thanks for the question!
  20. Great job Parker! Well earned. 👌
  21. Thanks so much Valkyrie!! And thanks Mikiesboy!!! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I hope others like it as well.
  22. They are fantastic manipulators, and they aren't to bad at training as well!!!! Thanks Parker!
  23. Hahaha!! Yes, I'm thrilled it's coming across so realistically. I wanted them to appear natural so the other aspects don't seem too crazy!! Thanks Addy!!
  24. I once heard that dogs have masters. Cats have staff.
  25. I think dogs and cats can speak together quite fluently. I'm glad the convo came across naturally. I swear our cats chat us up all the time. Thanks for the lovely comments!
