  1. Damn, I guess I'm just a giant walking p***sy. I'd only last 31 seconds with a bear (wait, just what kind of bear are we talking about hear . Certain bears I'm good for at least a night ). I wonder if since I chose the scariest animal as being the mountain goat with the boner, if that makes me less of a man Thanks for the quiz #1
  2. Happy 49 th Birthday Benji Hope you have a great day with both your family and the extended family too I will have to have a glass of B&B in your honour, you should do the same. Enjoy your day Steve
  3. What are you guys talking aboot, eh? Speak slower so I can understand what your saying !! Funny I missed this topic, but oh well, better late than never. I chose Caribbean. I imagine you could also expand this to anywhere that colonial English is/was taught such as India. There is something in the 'crispness' of the enunciation of words that gets me excited .
  4. Are we talking about Coffee and Sinking? I was more concerned when I read through the terms of being Downwind of a Goat (Heaven forbid if it is a Squall from the hind side of a goat). I hear that most sailors would embrace Davy Jones' locker than to find themselves in that position . Truth be told I did find the page interesting and informative. Being a land lover myself, I knew what a catamaran was as I saw them on the beach in Hawaii, I could not picture one with cabins in the pods (?) hull, whatever they are called. I guess I am still unsure how you would have a galley, salon, and five cabins all below deck. I see the pictures, but just the amount of space doesn't seem to be right. I have referenced the page twice already while reading the story, so to me yes, it has been useful.
  5. Wow, chapter 3 and you have already started calling some of us names . I guess since I'm a miscreant, I might as well point out a few things to you, an in disguise...I'm sure . Actually, we don't find Trev in any specific danger at the moment, but... I am a bit confused too. With the conversation between Lisa and him, he mentions that he was planning on going diving by himself this weekend and the next. I had the feeling that the charters were a rouse to keep his dad from vetoing him from going out to where his mom disappeared. Yet he is with Julie, who I get the impression comes along just for the diving. So is there actually a charter(s)? Is he taking actual charters to dive where he believes his mom has gone down? Now, as far as a cliffhanger...Treve doesn't reveal who his charter is? Could it be murderous pirates that will take Atlantis under siege and rape and pillage him . Okay, maybe a bit carried away there. Unfortunately we are left hanging wondering who the charter is for. Is it Ben's family? Who is it? Well I'm done being a miscreant for now, so thanks for the chapter CJ. Steve
  6. CJ, just how does this change anything?? So Graeme is eligible by the rule change (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) from last year. I'm sure that there is lots of evidence against many authors here and on other sites (yourself included) but why the sudden lobbying against Graeme? I know of several four legged and two legged candidates. And I have to agree with #1, you are aiding and abetting a felon by your own standards .
  7. Not our innocent Graeme !!! Wait, has CJ signed up at another site to malign the Echidna? I think I will pop over to AD, but I'm sure nobody has ever accused him of writing a cliffhanger over there. Good point Mike, we will have to scour the early months of 2009 and see if he posted a cliffhanger....wait....when was the wedding scene posted where basically the first signs of the Tsunami was noticed with the water pulling away from the island and away from the minister, Chase and Brandon? Was that not at the end of a chapter? Were we not left with the main characters (heck, most of the characters) facing uncertain peril? I will be back......
  8. Awwwwww Sooo cute!!!
  9. Uh oh , what does Cliff have up his sleeve/fur to make this bold prediction. I think although except for one admission, he has always maintained that he would not get any votes as he did not use cliffhangers. Usually though the readers have seen though his BS and rightfully placed him upon his throne. BTW, good question Tigger , will CJ resume on his Tuesday posting that he has done for all his past stories, or is there a new day to watch for new chapters?
  10. Happy Birthday Tim!!!! Hope you had a great day and enjoyed the cigars and booze too
  11. Hey Cj, thanks for the new story . I was getting worried that you may have come down with the swine flu, you know being a ruminant and all . So as far as getting my attention very quickly, you definitely did a great job at that. I mean killing off Rachel in the prologue? Wow, that makes me wonder about not only the boats she acquired, but her son Trevor, and her husband Dirk. There was a lot to absorb there, but it was simple and not too overly complicated with too many characters introduced at once. Next we had a introduction of both Trevor and Lisa. I too hope that Lisa is a major part of the story going forward. Trevor, to this point, may not be too unusual from the norm, but I think Lisa is going to change my opinion of that very soon. It was interesting to see how Trevor reacted to Ben (who I get a feeling was in just a one time appearance) and it gave us a insight to how Trevor is as far as being out, dating, meeting people, etc. I will point out that I find it strange that Trevor is supposedly 17 and only looking for friends. It just seems unusual for a teen that age that wouldn't be interested in getting some action before swabbing the deck or checking the bilge pumps, etc. Or is it just me that was horny at that age ? I must say that the person who maybe has piqued my interest the most right now is Dirk. It seems him and Rachel maybe had a rough relationship between the two of them while she was alive, but I wonder if that reflects in how he sees his relationship with Trevor. I have a feeling that there may be some pain in Dirk's life and unresolved conflicts that he feels whenever he sees his son. Am I reading too much into this so far? Anyways, great start to what I'm sure will be a great story. I've babbled on long enough. Steve
  12. Welcome RedA We, the readers, will not give you too hard of a time as we realize that this is a one goat show . As long as you don't put up a picture of yourself being a four legged goat, you should be safe. On a more serious note, thank you for coming aboard CJ's team and helping him with this story. We all know that CJ surrounds himself with the best, so you must be one of the best to be helping him out. Oh, and don't forget any chance you get to publicly humiliate the goat it will be much appreciated by us . Steve
  13. ROFLMAO
  14. Well it seems like a year has slipped by in the blink of an eye. I wanted to be the first to wish all my American cousins a very Happy Thanksgiving. So besides the unofficial kickoff to the holiday shopping season, what are you personally thankful for this year? Don't overeat and hope everyone has someone to enjoy the holiday with Steve
  15. So to get Adam's perspective as well as if ABC knew anything....
  16. Yikes, that is a loaded question . I did not see the AMA's, so I can only go with what the slide show reveals in his less than 'vanilla' moments. I agree with you that they most likely canceled due to the fear of protesters, but I have to say the protesters may have a point in this case. Let's face it, remove the fact that he is gay, he kissed a guy, etc. There are some things that are too racy for network TV in America today. Let's say if Madonna was to appear on GMA and they knew she was going to have some dancer 'eat her out' on stage and she simulated oral sex or other forms of sex, don't you think ABC would cancel that as well in a heartbeat? I think Adam cooked his own goose with his performance at the awards, and has relegated himself to maybe cable and live performances only. And once again, I believe it has nothing to do with being gay.
  17. YIKES *Steve runs off to put his steel plated cup back on*
  18. I know I'm probably going and even bringing up another forums discussion, but it was a topic discussed earlier today. Showering in high school was a way to somewhat safely discover what other guys looked liked and see that really we are all normal. My attraction was to if someone was different than me (as in cut or not cut) and the fascination with that. Like I said, usually in HS, most guys would be checking you out as your checking them out without the fear of having someone calling you a queer, fag, etc. cause they could be called the same. Maybe we should be promoting more showering in HS .
  19. That's great news, now I can stop wearing my steel plated cup . I know you have a great team behind you, and right now I'm jealous that they have an inside track on the new stories. On the other hand, I do enjoy being a reader who is shocked repeatedly (I'm a slow learner ) with the cliffhangers that we all expect. Question, Circumnavigation usually refers to sailing around the world. Are we about to start a journey upon the high seas?
  20. Does this mean the team helped cut some of the text out of the story (and I'll leave the 'hard' part alone) On a serious note CJ, I'm anxiously waiting and I'm sure you'll deliver as you have always done in the past. Steve
  21. Don't underestimate the power of the goat!!! He is pure evil. When he wants to get something, he usually will get what he wants. I do believe that there is strength in numbers though, and this can help save us all. I think Graeme is hooked but realizes that he is hooked. CJ gave him little tidbits of chapters until Graeme couldn't resist anymore, and now craves his weekly fix of CJ's words. Beware.

    Confidence

Hey Kurt, I know exactly what you are talking about. After 20 years (damn, I'm old ) of retail work where my job isn't security but when there is nobody around and someone is stealing, I kind of have to take on that roll. I still am nervous, but everybody is right, you do get more confidence. You'd be suprised how much better you probably are right now, but it is you judging you, not others. We all tend to be too critical on ourselves. I see the comments about being in control, maybe by force. Honestly the most sucessful LPO's and ones to make it into law enforcement seem to be able to use there mouths instead of their muscles to handle situations. Talk to your suspects (it does great for reducing your nerves), they will sting you a whole bunch of lines (I'm sure you have heard them all by now), and then turn them over to the police when they show up. So my advice would be to talk more, not less. Add some smart ass comments like "How's your day going besides the last fifteen minutes?" You will be surprised how much more relaxed you will be and less confrontational your suspect will be. All the procedures and routines will fall into place as you are more confortable. Steve

    number three

I have to agree with Mike, no more blogging for you today.
  24. Thought I'd start a thread to discuss Lost in Question. Wondering if anyone else has read Chapter one of the story, and what they think of it so far? It personally got my interest right away. Unfortunately as a reader, but not for the author, we were left without too much information about the Dillon and Conner. It would be fair to guess that even though Dillion is a jock and maybe confused about these new feelings that have come over him that he is realizing that it is that he is gay. But what about Conner? He may have the traits of being gay if you believe in sterotypes. But has he really done anything 'gay' ? Also, we are getting Conner's description through Dillon's eyes, which maybe blurred at the moment. I definitely am looking forward to seeing where this stroy is going. Thanks for sharing Steve
  25. Great to see a blog . You know I have all the paperwork ready to start the immigration process to Canada, all you have to do is say the word (you just have to decide if it will be the west with me, or the centre with Mattie). But seriously, hopefully everything works out okay. Pass on my congrats to Annemarie for doing so well in Colorguard. It is great to see her passionate about it and I imagine it proves the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Finally, if that guy seems unsure about the whole cuddling thing, why not just cuddle him and see how he reacts . Take care Vivian, Steve
