  1. Happy Birthday Emoe!!! Hope you have a great Birthday and many more great days to come. Steve
  2. Actually Mike, after some careful thought, I realized you are 100% correct, and I may have jumped the gun in listed you with the others. I would venture that CJ hasn't 'bought' you yet. I believe he entices people with false thoughts of riches and fortune and then we see a decrease in harassment of the goat. Remember, all I want is to maintain a certain amount of public teasing of CJ. If at any time you feel that you are coming under his charms, let us know and we'll help you resist the urges. Well, um, ah, hmmm. Hey, what is the quote on CJ's byline ? (sorry, that is the best I can come up with. Geez, I should have planned this forum out better ). I do believe if you look at Conner's posts, he is paid in pool parties though out CJ's stories. Then there is the whole goat sub committee thingy.
  3. Does this mean you will still join our group???
  4. You have admitted your weakness to anything pertaining to evil . This is a great first step . Eric, I, and others will help you through the evil ministrations that will surely come your way from CJ. Just make sure you let us know as early as possible if you see any apparitions of a floating goat's head surrounded by flames trying to convince you that it is better on the dark side with him. Or in Eric's case, a goat offering liquor of your choice in mass quantities.
  5. As I anxiously wait for the next story out from CJ, it gave me time to read and reflect on some past forums of past posted stories of the Goat's. I honestly believe that there is a underhanded, back door deals, conspiracy to deflect criticism and teasing of CJ. So far, I believe he has 'bought' the following people, either against their will or willing to join him: Shadowgod Emo Captain Rick Graeme Talon Rider Mike L Conner What evidence do I have??? Well look at the early posts in the forums of FTL. All of the above people were constantly calling CJ to task and arguing with him daily, even hourly, that he was pure evil. In his writing, and his posting. Then, slowly, all of these people became part of CJ's "TEAM" and viola, all of their critical posts of the goat seemed to disappear. What was there 'price' to be bought out and maintain their silence? Is anyone else here at risk of being silenced? I know for a fact that Benji and myself have fought off constant assaults to our integrity to stay on the right side of truth, justice and honesty. I also have to mention Bondwriter is an enigma, he is part of the "TEAM", yet he will turn on the goat as soon as CJ's payments to his Cayman Islands accounts are even a couple of minutes late. If there is enough of you who have been enticed to join the dark side and have resisted, maybe we can start a support group. To all the above people, we extend our condolences and offer our love and support and willingness to have an intervention to save you all. It is never to late to reject the dark side and return to the masses.
  6. Happy Birthday Sharon!!! Hope you had a great day
  7. Happy Birthday Sharon Like the others said, it isn't the number, it is what you do every day that detirmines how you should feel.

  12. As usual us Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving about a month before our cousins to the south, and Monday is that day. This year being a bit unusual for me, I wanted to start this thread and say what I'm particually thankful for this year. Feel free to join in . If anyone else wants to join in, there is no rule saying you have to be Canadian say what your thankful for. So here it goes: Every year I am thankful that we have such a great place as GA for all of us to gather and talk, share, read, and be a community in. I am grateful that Myr took the steps to create GA and continue to steer this ship onward and bringing on the help he needed to continue to make it grow. I am particular thankful this year to be alive after a horrific car crash back in June. After 4 months of being in a hospital/rehab hospital I am finally seeing a discharge in a couple of weeks. Although it may be a while before starting back to work with my new prosthetic leg, the end is in sight. One of the biggest driving factors in my recovery was my sisters reading me everyone's well wishes from GA until I was well enough to sit up and read for myself. I have lots to be thankful, how about you???? Steve
  13. Happy Birthday Dom!!! Hope you have a great day! Steve

  16. Happy Birthday Beasty!!! Hope you had a great day
  17. Hey Tiff, I had a Escort Passport until my unfortunate day in June , when it went to the auto wreckers with my car. A lot of good comments here about the pros and cons of them. First and foremost would be finding out if they are legal or illegal in your state and any surrounding ones that you may travel. Fines in excess of the detector would definitely hurt the pocket book. With my Passport, yes it would detect any automatic doors on the grocery stores, malls, etc. Also, some houses have alarm systems that will trigger off the K band on the detector. They great thing about the more expensive ones is that they recognize them as being that and give one loud beep and then just flash after with no sound. When they do pick up radar they will increase they amount of beeps as you approach closer. One thing I always tell people who are considering buying one is that in most cases now, if the laser detector goes off, it means you are caught. Lasar does not have flak like radar, so if the cops are using the laser on another car in front of you, you will not know about it. Where they do become very helpful in my experience is when driving the highways/freeways and moving cops are using bursts of radar to randomly check for speed. My detector could in certain cases detect up to five kms/ three miles away. Another great feature about them is they also will tell you when a cop is behind you. Photo Radar sucks cause the beam is going out in front of the camera and you don't get any warning until you are basically in the cameras view. I guess I have mainly given the disadvantages, but probably the biggest pro to having one is that cops will tend to go more lenient on you if you pull over right away so they don't have to turn around and chase you down for five minutes. I personally have gotten warning tickets instead of actual fines six times now. Considering that tickets for over 10 km/h up here start at $120 and 20 goes to $200, I'll take the warnings every day . Jack, FYI...B.C., Alberta and most of the northwestern US states detectors are legal and are widely used. Hope that this doesn't muddy the waters on your decision Tiff. Steve
  18. Well Thank You everybody I had a pretty good birthday except I had some eye surgery on the 25th as a belated present. So picture this.......... I'm now lying in my bed missing my lower left leg, by right eye is patched up....all I need is a parrot to complete the costume. "Arrrrgh you scurvy dogs, makes fun of me and ill take yall to Davy Jone's locker"
  19. I agree 100% with Trebs , Mike Arram is an amazing writer. I particularly enjoy the different British dialects that he uses for his different characters. Such as Justin will never sound the same as Henry, you can actually read the difference. I have read the entire series and highly recommend it. I also had fun going in to work and discussing with a lady who grew up in the UK about the language and what certain things meant (like sixth form and the other schooling names). I'm glad he is continuing to put out new stories, just wish he would come over to GA to do so
  20. Personally it was never an issue to gear completely down for me.....after age 15. I think before than I was absolutely terrified to be naked in any public setting for fear of getting a hard on. Luckily a time at summer camp presented itself where four other guys and me had to shower and get everything off and surprisingly enough, nothing arose to the occasion. Going into high school and playing hockey after that summer found 3 or 4 other guys who would shower, but the vast majority didn't . Still up here in Canada, modesty does seem to be the majority. I don't think any schools have mandatory showers after gym or sports, it is all optional. Since most teens (and men) are indeed worried about popping wood, that is probably the explanation. Pictures are available for $29.99 plus shipping and handling . Just kidding (No, seriously, PM me if you want to see them) Nah, I'm just joking around...........but
  21. umm, I don't think he is looking for a title as he is bowed down in front of CJ I would never call you lazy Krista, but you have to admit that you have left some chapters with a lot of questions unresolved in a very abrupt manner. Would you not? As for the poll, I'm still protesting for the same 3 reasons..... Steve
