I agree with you 100%. My whole Jim is the gay secret lover/lawyer was tongue in cheek . I think if Trevor did admit to his Dad that he was gay, I would believe that Dirk would all of sudden realize what a dork he has been with his temper, and maybe see why Trevor is acting the way he is. Once again, only Trevor can correct the major communication problem. Now for something new, we found out that Joel was wearing the red speedos under the red lifeguard shorts, but what was Trevor wearing while diving? My imagination is running wild without specifics CJ . Oh, and BTW, I just happened to be up that late the other night, I don't, and I imagine nobody else expects you to post at a certain time every week. We all just appreciate that you give us a story at all. Steve

Yes, the Nifty posts only went up to Chapter 35 and then Tyler moved it over to the Closettales webpage to finish it off without submitting anything more to Nifty. I can't recall how many chapters the original story was with the epilogue, but he has picked it up again and posted some new chapter(s) . Click on my link above to get the full story and enjoy . With the help of a certain Shadowgod, the link has been updated in the GA Archive as well. You can go to that page by clicking here. Thanks everyone for the help .

Great chapter CJ, thanks . First major question: So hmmmm, Cj led us to maybe speculate who this Jim guy was, and some felt he was Dirk's secret gay lover. Then we find out he is Dirk's lawyer. Or is he ??? I feel some evil goat misdirection being used to hide that Jim is Dirk's secret gay lover lawyer . The most interesting passage in the story was this:

Wow, amazing what you find when you look. It has been years since I read the story, but it looks like Tyler picked up the story and is continuing on with it. Currently there is 53 chapters and the 54th is posted to a new chat room that you need to register in. Anyways, here is the link which I think is much more of the story than the Nifty archieve has. Enjoy Edit to add: hopefully the tech gods here at GA can update the link, Thanks .

The story is The Road Home by Tyler Peel. It is listed in the archives here at GA and in the Best of Nifty at Awesomedude. Unfortunately all the links are broken, so I don't know if it is being hosted anymore. I believe it was at closettales.net but not 100% sure. Hope you can find it (and if you can, let us know where )

Belated Happy Birthday Robbie!! Hope you had a great day

Hmmm, countdown. Could it be a countdown till Dirk finds Trevor, Lisa, and Joel? Could it be a countdown to casting off of Trevor in Atlantis for his world circumnavigation (BTW, hopefully he doesn't take your route to circumnavigate the globe that you have Dirk doing to get to Miami, it will be a bitch going through the Arctic and Antarctica ). Could it be a countdown until the shuttle launches? I have a funny feeling that this is one of your misleading chapter titles that makes us think one thing when it is the other. Sorry I didn't comment earlier, but thanks for the chapter, and there may be a clue or two in there of what may happen, but I may have or may not have been distracted by a certain guy in a hot red speedo . Speaking of which, if Trevor goes to Australia, he can blend in with the natives by wearing nothing but a speedo all the time. After all, aren't all the guys in Australia wearing speedos with their drop dead gorgeous looks and bods?

Happy Birthday Matt Hope it is a great one!!!

Good luck on that one Robbie . As we all know goats are cliff dwelling creatures and since CJ seems to believe he is scared of heights, I imagine that he is hugging the cliff as close as possible. Therefore good luck hiding behind him. Also I think if it came down to you and CJ on a cliff and an approaching echidna, CJ would feed you to the wolves, so to speak .

Canadians just not as friendly as they used to be...
wildone replied to Mark Arbour's topic in The Lounge
So I was going to make a post about Canada being number 2 in something else, mainly the World Juniors of Hockey. Team Canada is going for the sixth gold in a row when I turned back to the game it was in the third period with five minutes left and the US were beating them 5-3. Then with 2:40 left Canada scores a powerplay goal, suddenly 5-4 for the US. Then with 1:55 left Canada scores again. Now we are tied 5-5. Off to O.T. we go. Playing international rules it is four on four for 20 minutes of sudden death. Then if still tied, it goes to a shootout. Then The US scores about five minutes in and wins their 2nd only World Juniors in history. So, yes, Canada is number two in something else . Congrats to Team USA -
Well slap me stupid and kick me in the arse!! I would have never thought that there was pre divorce papers in the box. In fact, the Buick had a better chance of being in there to me . Thanks for the chapter CJ I actually have a lot of feelings about this chapter, but I won't bore you all with them in this post. My one overall observation is that this was a lot of misdirection on the goat's part . I mean, it is all convenient, Trevor finds the papers, the anniversary of Trevor's moms' death, Dirk returning from unknown parts. I mean it is screaming for you to connect the dots, but I think if you do, all you'll get is disappointment . Wait, I will give one other opinion, what an a$$ Trevor was in that chapter . I mean, okay, he is full of self doubt over what he thinks his Dad thinks of him. I understand that. I think we all see that Trevor is not giving his Dad a fair shake over the whole gay thing. I think all of us (that are gay ) all have figured that the worse is going to happen when someone finds out about us. Even the exchange between Trevor and Dirk proved that Trevor is being stupid. I mean, give Dirk a break. How many parents would say to their son, "Have you found yourself a boyfriend?" when they don't know their son is gay??? Then Trevor, taking his angst out on his dad and throwing out the whole divorce paper thing, so not cool. I will give him some latitude though, it was an emotional scene since his Dad caught him in his lie, and he feels his dad doesn't accept or understand him. But only a little. Damn, I'm riled up again . Steve

Always loved The Far Side. Here is my favourite of all time:

Heard on the radio today that Avatar reached the billion dollar mark after 3 weeks making it the second movie to make a billion, and this was much quicker than the first. Care to guess the first? Titanic, of course by James Cameron as well Edit to add: I have been corrected and one site I went to gave these as the top ones over a billion: Dark Night 1.006 billion Pirates of the Carribean; Dead Man's Chest 1.060 billion, Lord of the Rings; Return of the King 1.129 billion, and then Titanic at 1.835 billion.

Conner, I'm shocked , you didn't invite me out to help. Oh and Mark, there is a third way to piss off a Canadian, steal his/her Roll up the Rim coffee cup before they get the chance to roll it themselves . I believe there has been fisticuffs over this issue. -
See what happens when you Tequila any Eric . Steve (who is still trying to see what is behind those censored tags )

Finally got to see the movie, and in 3D as well . I would say all the hype about this movie changing the way that movies will probably be made in the future might hold true for certain types of movies. It was amazing at the depth of the screen throughout as mentioned by Tigger. At times you could lift your glasses and realize how much difference their is between 2D and 3D. A side note, one friend who is actually colour blind and was never able to see the 3D with the old blue and red glasses saw everything in 3D with the new technology. The story was good enough to keep me wanting more and to delay the pee break that was much needed after all that pop in a 3 hour movie . I think I might see it again. Also, I believe there is a guy in Toronto that has developed and copyrighted a screen that will fit over your plasma/LCD TV or down to a iPod screen that will enable you to see it in 3D quality at home. Hopefully this technology doesn't fall to the wayside of horror movies only like the original 3D did.

Ahem , Let's look at the current World Junior's standings and scores: Canada 16 Latvia 0 Canada 6 Switzerland 0 Canada 8 Slovakia 2 Canada 5 USA 4 (won in shoot out) Canada receives bye into semi finals!!! USA 7 Slovakia 3 USA 3 Switzerland 0 USA 12 Latvia 1 USA 4 Canada 5 (won in shoot out) USA 6 Finland 2 (Quarter final game) Canada plays Switzerland (after the Swiss pull a huge upset over Russia in Quarter final game) USA plays Sweden Should be an interesting final game no matter who makes it Oh, Paya, not sure if your in the Czech Republic or Slovakia so here is both: Czech 1 Sweden 10 Czech 3 Finland 4 Czech 7 Austria 1 Czech 2 Russia 5 Slovakia 3 USA 7 Slovakia 8 Latvia 3 Slovakia 2 Canada 8 Slovakia 1 Switzerland 4 Actually none of this matters as it is the World Juniors (although the best indication for year in year out play). The real test will be in little over a month as the Olympics begin in Vancouver Canada. I think we need Conner to be our eyes in Vancouver reporter on what is happening around town -
Well for those that do go, and those who watch it on TV, I'm sure it is going to be a great game. The rumour is that next year will be the Battle of Alberta outside in Calgary. BTW, Happy New year while enjoying the game.

Heck, even Lisa must know about your love of nuclear reactions with her warning to Trevor Why do I have a feeling that CJ has been laying low with the cliffhangers this year because he thought he'd be up for nomination. Now that that is out of the way, I imagine he will finish off this year (which he did), and hit us all with a monumental cliffhanger to start the new year. Speaking of straight, it was being discussed if you had become straight on us in chat earlier today. Someone's reply was that you went both ways. I replied that I believed that this was true, you'd go goat or human .

Hey , I don't recall ever teasing you!!! I usually save that for Jack . Hey, you apologized earlier on and once again for something that you don't even know if you did Bugeye. I am mailing you your honourary Canadian citizenship right away -
Thanks for the chapter CJ . Now I imagine you will have absolutely nothing to say about this post . First, what the heck is in those tax receipt boxes??? It must be important as you finished off Chapter 5 with mentioning them, and you start Chapter 6 with them. Could there be something about the disappearance of the Ares in them waiting for Trevor to discover. Next, I do remember that Dirk had left for his weekly trade conference in Miami (you never corrected the word weekly, so I'm assuming that to Trevor his dad leaves for Miami once a week), you mentioned that he was heading North since the mileage signs for Miami were disappearing in his rear view mirror. I would make the guess that he possibly could be heading to Orlando instead. Now we have Lisa and Joel heading up to Orlando to do some shopping. Could there be a chance encounter coming up soon? If it happens, will Dirk be honest with Trevor, or will Joel and Lisa spill the news to Trevor. I'm still going with the girlfriend scenario btw. Last I have to ask, does the goat have a need to involve a nuclear bomb, plant, explosion in everyone of his last three stories ? I can hardly wait for Three for Jake to see what happens? Maybe he works on a oil seismic crew and uses radioactive isotopes to map out oil fields . Thanks again CJ. Steve

Come on, if the folks up in Edmonton braved -22 F back at the original, you can survive -6 . Besides, it is probably the only time that hugging another male at a NHL game will be considered appropriate for more than 10 seconds
