    My great-aunt gave me a subscription to Highlights for many years when I was a kid. I loved Goofus and Gallant, and this story did them justice IMO. Nice job

    I can't say without violating GA's no-politics rule. It was misconstrued as a threat, when it clearly wasn't.

    There are good, non-discriminatory churches out there. I grew up in a non-denominational church--part of the United Church of Christ. As far back as I can remember, they've helped refugees and done wonderful work in the community. All are welcome, regardless of age, race, sexuality... whatever. A while ago now, they went through the process of becoming an "open and affirming" establishment and openly welcome LGBT people. In fact, our pastor is gay. I know I'm one of the lucky ones to have grown up in such an accepting place.

    Some very opinionated ones. 😛 She made a comment about the safety of a certain individual and the dumbass who reported her misconstrued it as a threat. I read the comment and subsequent ones. IMO, it was clearly not a threat. Apparently the secret service agreed.

    OMG A good friend of mine had some douchebag report one of her FB posts to the FBI and she was visited by the Secret Service yesterday and spent two and a half hours being grilled by them at the police station.
