  1. Thanks so much, Gary "Word painting" I love it There's a dark side to Faery that's not often explored. I'm glad you liked my story.
  2. Good question. He's got a lot of fight in him, so I wouldn't be surprised if he became a version of Van Helsing dedicated to eradicating dark fae. Ooo... that would make a good story... Thanks for commenting!

    Predator

*fans self* I think I need a cold shower now... this belongs in your spice rack with the ghost peppers, Chef. Predator, indeed. Is it wrong that I want to let out a loud growl right now?
  9. Thanks Tim. Yeah... millipedes? Ugh is right.
  10. Me too. I had Joker locked in the bathroom for a couple of hours and heard quite the commotion at one point. So I'm hoping that means the multi-legged demon was sent to the hell from whence it came. I'm glad I made you laugh
  11. Thanks, Gary. I'm still not convinced it's not lurking somewhere in the bathroom, ready to strike when I least expect it...

    The Story

This is a heart-wrenching story. You portray a very realistic scenario of what it's like to deal with Alzheimer's. I like the ending, even though it's tinged with sadness. Saul and Max have their time together at last, even if Max's cognition is fading. Very well done.
  13. “Will you shut that disgusting thing up? I swear I’m going to kill it before we get anywhere near our prize.” “I’m trying! It’s too stupid to know any better.” Shade pressed his slimy brown hand over the mouth of the crying infant fae, who struggled in his tight grip. He hoped it would be enough to stifle the baby’s cries. He knew from experience that Briar Toadthistle would make good on his word, and he didn’t feel like explaining yet another failed mission to his king. “Well tr

    Brotherhood

Loud shouts and banging doors caused me to open my eyes and stretch my arms. Moonlight flooded through the circular window next to me, and my heart pounded in my chest. My brother stood and I slid off his lap, along with the book he’d been reading to me when we both fell asleep. “Shit! Mom and Dad are home!” I’d never seen Elijah look so scared. My lower lip quivered and tears threatened to spill from my eyes. “Shhh… don’t start crying. They’ll find us. It’s OK. We ca
  15. Not all fairies have wings and sprinkle pixie dust. Briar Toadthistle and Shade Sourthorn are attempting a mission they've failed before. If they don't succeed, their heads are on the line. Karma isn't limited to the human realm, though, and a choice made may prove more costly than either of them anticipated.
  16. Some bonds cannot be broken, no matter the time or distance.
  17. I can view them now
  18. I am only able to view my own stories. I get an error message for all the rest.
  19. Yay! It's nice to see so many stories from such a diverse group of authors. I have lots of reading to do this weekend It was my pleasure to help with the proof team. The banner looks great, Mann. Thanks to all who help make the anthology possible and to Renee for coordinating it all.

    The Cat Crusades

You hit the nail on the head. At least now people are taking notice of Sam's issues and he should get the help he needs. Thanks for reading! I'm looking forward to writing more. These are fun
  21. Thank you. I love the conciseness of haiku. I'm glad you liked it.

    The Cat Crusades

I did the same thing, too. I always had my nose stuck in a book when I was a kid. When I was Sam's age, I was tormented for how much I liked horses. Thanks for reading and commenting.

    The Cat Crusades

Kids make friends and enemies quickly at that age. Now that Sam and Hank have something in common, maybe it's a starting point for, at the minimum, a truce. Thanks so much for your comments, Gary.
