Beautiful story! Creek is experiencing the doubts every parent has who loves parenting! I see some potential relationships forming already. And, of course, the stereotypical Asian mother trying to play matchmaker!

It always astounds me that people charged with so many crimes always plead not guilty, especially with so many witnesses ready to come forward. Yet, that's the way of the legal system - innocent until PROVEN guilty, which, in the case of Uncle Phil has not been proven in a court of law yet. I do hope Horse is found and his money confiscated!

@CasualWanderer82 has the ability to reach deeply into our minds and emotions, asking us to learn to love without judgment and leave our preconceived notions of "what ought to be" behind, leaving the door open to new possibilities. This chapter does just that: Cash has to accept that Jackson does, in fact, love both men for different reasons. Still, he confirms that Cash is his front porch - the place he calls home. He still loves Blake, but Blake has a lot to work through. I don't know if there will be a throuple - guess we'll find out in the next chapter. This has been a wonderful journey!

Rory & Slav’s end of term
pvtguy commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in Rory & Slav’s end of term
Your attention to detail is most welcome: it allows us readers to truly be observers like flies on the wall! I had the same thought as @Summerabbacat: Will Jock and Audra help provide assistance in obtaining a larger house? I'm sure they would like a true home for Rory fueled by the warm and constructive family life that Jason and Gavin, et al, are providing. -
"Atonement (Part One)"
pvtguy commented on CasualWanderer82's story chapter in "Atonement (Part One)"
Daisy's kitchen Gospel speaks to the hearts of all those who listen: she can bring down the mighty, lifts those bowed low, and welcomes all without question. It is the inspiration for courage and truth. It is always a voice of hope. This chapter could well be the dream of many towns where the "good ol' boy" network skirts justice. Well done. -
I don't remember any other kids being mentioned in this story. I thought the babies were the first of the next generation.

Interesting dynamics here: Marty certainly has a talent where Chessie is concerned! Bik and Laura are planning to move back to Ohio once Bik gets more experience and established in the profession. Laura wants to be more involved but her physical condition is not allowing it (makes one wonder how women handled this in the past!). There's not much new about Peter in this chapter but he is such a true helper to all!

I am on board too! Although I became a full-time single parent years later, it takes a lot of time devoted to parenting. I look forward to see how this plays out.

This dance between Lyn and Alexander is getting more serious. I will be interested to learn about Alexander's marriage too - and I'm betting it was a cover for his true feelings. Perhaps he will relocate to where Lyn lives....

I refer to it as the "Stalkers Song"... and I, too, hate it!

A very nice chapter with several colloquialisms for which I was not familiar, but was able to understand via context. Gray has come a long way since we first met him in terms of loosening up. His imagining Vince and Matt listening to him read shows how much these two have grown on him and how close he has become to both - in different ways of course!

The Sharp Edge of Elegance
pvtguy commented on Jeff Burton's story chapter in The Sharp Edge of Elegance
There seems to be an assumption that the Hastings are the nouveau riche as opposed to the Kincaids. Regardless, the difference that financial privilege gives them shows more in the values of respect and caring towards others that are shown. The confrontation between IV and Josh was delightful in giving IV a taste of his own attitude. The private school may well be the "safest" environment for Josh from outside people, but not necessarily from those inside the school's walls. We'll see. -
Dan's explanation of the family's situation makes sense. Still, I'm waiting for the "rest of the story" which is yet to unfold. Josh was definitely right in confiding in Dan. I'm still trying to get my head around the "AI" description of Josh. Guess I haven't seen enough of the movies with this type of individual.

Between Shadows and Light
pvtguy commented on Jeff Burton's story chapter in Between Shadows and Light
I have been binge reading this for the past few days and am totally invested in it! When the Feds examine the hospital tapes, they will know if the two characters are rogue agents hopefully. I really like the complexities of this story. The characters are rich! I'm still amazed at how fast Josh has progressed in a weak with his injuries and his lung! He couldn't have landed in a better place than with the Kincaids! -
Nate is facing his future with great thought and consideration. Yes, there will be culture shock, but that will only serve to reinforce what he wants for his future. Wonderfully warm and lovely chapter!

Lachlan is once again being shown as a totally irrational parent who doesn't think his son is a person, but rather property for him to use as he sees fit. If the company he heads was handed to him from his father, I wonder if Jock might have some say in whether Lachlan stays in position as the CEO? I can only second the comments of @Seraph28 and @Summerabbacat.

Daisy is the epitome of what it means to be a parent, friend, neighbor. She walks the walk as she talks the talk - a true role model of what we each should strive to be! I was surprised that Colton was there, but it was exactly where he needed to be and experience the love and support which he will need to finally be true to himself. And now, off on the road trip to resolve the way that Jackson left Blake.

[Memory, Junior Year in High School] – Less Than Perfect
pvtguy commented on Laura S. Fox's story chapter in [Memory, Junior Year in High School] – Less Than Perfect
Previous chapters led me to believe that Brad was a friend a lot longer than junior year in high school, but that might just be an assumption on my part. Still, this chapter does show more of the motivation that drives Lyn. -
Well, @mastershakeme, you did it: you've added more intrigue, teased our prurient interests as voyeurs, had Joey become more confident, and set the scene for more adventure! Great job!

Old Clothes Day & an expedition
pvtguy commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in Old Clothes Day & an expedition
A lovely chapter which left me feeling satisfied that relationships are growing in depth and that Gray is actually becoming more socially involved. Matt is surprising: from the reluctant man we first encountered to the very comfortable-in-his-own-skin man that he has evolved into, He even surprised Gray by saying that he's not upset being referred to as his boyfriend to Gilly: “It’s OK. I am, aren’t I?” I admit my ignorance of the word "lary/lairy". I have never come across it before. Interesting word! -
Weekend away: beginnings

And it also confirms the relationship connection they have. -
Weekend away: beginnings

It is not unknown that a child is the opposite of parents. Rory's father may well have rebelled against his "liberal" parents, preferring to be more "stable" in his actions/beliefs. We only need to reflect on our society today where people raised in more open and accepting families are now embracing authoritarianism. -
Weekend away: beginnings

Would that Jock's son (Rory's father) could be as loving and supportive! That was a truly beautiful scene. The weekend was successful for both Jason and Gavin and also the boys! -
Lots of killing - D, Zeke and Joey are super crack shots! Still, they are going to need some medical attention too. Joey is wonderfully devoted to his family, abusive and messed up as they are. Now to see where this leads....

Tempus fugit - a home, a family & a boyfriend
pvtguy commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in Tempus fugit - a home, a family & a boyfriend
I'm especially impressed that Gray seems to be putting down roots and is feeling a part of a family! That he even volunteers to assist at the Clothing drive is major growth and evidence of his growth! Great chapter!- 9 comments
