Chapter 176 Stepping Up to the Plate
pvtguy commented on Dodger's story chapter in Chapter 176 Stepping Up to the Plate
Robbie is still Robbie....He needs to see Jo again! He turns on himself but takes it out on those who truly like him. This might just be the wake-up call he needs! -
The Return From California
pvtguy commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in The Return From California
I could see a court case here too. Michael has already mentioned a work-around using a tapper. Good cliffie! -
Three friends (Brad, Lynton and Alexander) drawn together in college who go through challenges, great times, and misunderstandings which lead to an eight year span where they do not communicate but each grow in their professions and personal lives. When one (Brad) reaches out to invite them both to his wedding, they meet once again and , in the span of a week, hit very high highs and a a very low low, fraught with more misunderstandings, leading to another period of silence among them. What happens next is quite a surprise, leading to a hoped for, but unexpected, conclusion, The back and forth between glimpses of the past and present, lead the reader to more fully understand motivations and reasons for behavior. Superb writing and compelling reading!

Embarrassment, and Hockey Futures
pvtguy commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Embarrassment, and Hockey Futures
All hockey development and no mention of relationship development save for one statement: His and Luca's patience had paid off. I'm trusting they are still together. -
Ding-Dong! The Witch Is Dead?
pvtguy commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in Ding-Dong! The Witch Is Dead?
And the intrigue continues to build. It will be very interesting to see if Graham might well have the artefact and be either a target or instigator of the death of his wife.... -
A true depiction of real love growing amid those persistent personal doubts and fears. Jamal is so fortunate to have such a supportive and loving family! Now, if only Ryan can become as courageous....
-
Excellent research and writing it into the story. As Michael gets more training and practice, his times will improve.

I love that we see a healthy development of a relationship and not just instant "heat" called "love". Irma has become a wonderful source of common sense for Slav. And he listens! As for the future and a new house, I'm still hoping Rory's Grandparents will assist!

Finally! Lyn has dropped the confining walls that held in his true emotions and he allowed them to fully bloom. Alexander has also allowed himself to be open and vulnerable with Lyn. Well done!

A wonderful story of love and its healing power. The whole story is compelling, but the last chapter is very powerful! I look forward to a sequel!

Excellent cliffie at the end! I like @Summerabbacat's proposition about the possible inclusion of Thomas Englert in the demise of Aunt Daphne.

More Hockey, More Bigotry
pvtguy commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in More Hockey, More Bigotry
First, I thought the Social Worker could have handled the reporting of the the comments of his relatives in a more professional manner: "Homophobic remarks and aspersions were said in front of the judge which resulted in the denial of their claims..." Secondly, Donovan probably needed a fight, but Darren's comments were, indeed, juvenile (Hmm...I guess he really is just a kid...). -
Breaking away from strong cultural expectations and 'norms' is difficult but also so freeing! Jamal is realizing he is worthwhile and it is ok to be himself! Lovely chapter!

Chapter 14 - All's Well That End's Well
pvtguy commented on ChromedOutCortex's story chapter in Chapter 14 - All's Well That End's Well
I will truly miss this story as it ends. So well-written and so relatable! At least Liam is allowing the truth to be spoken and Adrian does not feel threatened hearing about Kevin and Liam's life together. Liam has learned he can make room for new relationship and actually keep on living! -
A very warm memory indeed. Hindsight tells us why Alexander kept the photo as screensaver, but it serves as a very freeing moment for Lyn. Beautiful writing!

At first, I thought there was a bigger age difference, which would have been a major problem, but that got clarified. I guess Wayne has figured what he really desires!

Working With Fruits - How Apropos
pvtguy commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Working With Fruits - How Apropos
I'm a mixture of sad and wow! His parents should have intervened with his brothers. So many things that could have been done and said to support him and not, in essence, force him into being the "high school male slut". There are many "Matt's" out there, unfortunately. -
Where was Ted or Brian when I was their ages? Good story!

The Holiday: Sightseeing
pvtguy commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in The Holiday: Sightseeing
You have done this before, used an adjective with a positive connotation to accentuate an adjective with a negative connotation. Sorry, @Summerabbacat, but the language teacher in me has to make a minor correction: remarkably is an adverb used to qualify the adjective. Minor point, to be sure....but just wanted to be accurate. (Can you see the red pen marks when I was grading papers, lol? Such a lovely vacation - learning, exercising via swimming, hiking, exploring. Thanks for providing me a vicarious respite, @Robert Hugill. As for accommodation, I still hope Grandfather is able to assist! -

A happy/sad chapter: Brad finally speaks honestly even with his humor present. Lyn does soften and really listens. Good chapter!

What Happens in School, Stays in School
pvtguy commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in What Happens in School, Stays in School
There are pockets of this type of discrimination still present everywhere, unfortunately. We believe in the Constitution, they will say, but as it applies to White folk - no one else! We're seeing that at a national level, unfortunately, at this time in the U.S. -
Such powerful writing! I felt the emotions of both in the words spoken and actions described. Liam's fear is his prison. It also is the key to moving forward -facing that fear and breaking loose of its bonds!

Daphne, Graham & Charlie
pvtguy commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in Daphne, Graham & Charlie
Might Graham know what the artifact really is or might actually be harboring it? He is definitely dodgy. He and Daphne are truly "rich" boors!. I do hope the detective get more active in their pursuit of Thomas Englert and possibly find the link to Graham!
