The memory chapters are giving us deeper insight into what is happening in the main story. Brad wanted to speak with Lyn privately but still couldn't get to the deeper level of his feelings. The wedding is nothing more than Brad's fulfilling his family's expectations and he feels trapped into it. That Lyn is not trapped into the same expectations as Brad and Alexander does not mean that he is not a victim of expectations - however, the difference is that he is the one creating those expectations and works toward them.

Not at all surprising for someone who has been emotionally abused for so many years! Marvin has the opportunity now to develop a healthy relationship with Creek, whether it turns into a serious relationship including sex or not. Dailan brings lightness and joy into Creek's life, but I am not sure of there being an equal relationship rather than an older-younger one. I could well be wrong. Creek's move to living on his own with Forest may well be a long time off, but he needs to get away from his smothering, yet well meaning, mother!

Private view & public spectacle
pvtguy commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in Private view & public spectacle
I really understand cranky Gray: he's more of an introvert, except in situations where he's surrounded by people he knows or in a one-one situation. Thus, he appears gruff when he really is protecting self. -
Will friendship turn into something more? Both guys seem very interested, charming and real!

Yes, health issues are very present with the family, but I admire how they work through them. They keep life as normal as possible and work around them supported by intense love!

Considering they raised all their sons from birth, they would have to be at least in their 50's I would think.

A bit of a shock – 22 December

Now on to the wonderful insights into Russ, his family, and his consideration of his relationship with Brian, Gordon and Toby. I am most interested in seeing where this goes! -

With such a superb vocabulary, I thought this statement was made "tongue-in-cheek"... Admitting my ignorance of the etymology of the spelling of various words used by both English and American vocabularies, I have no idea how the difference in spellings have occurred, but do know they exist through my reading and learning from various authors, including yourself, @Robert Hugill. I thank you for the continuing education you offer. -
I love how the ordinary becomes special in that the Philpotts are finally growing out of the cages that were their lives before Gray arrived and became one of the catalysts for change.

I have loved every chapter in this volume of the adventures of Peter and Marty! Hint: I expect to see another volume!!!

A razor blade stuck into a crack wouldn't cut too deep to begin with, but always safe rather than sorry in getting it checked. It was pure "luck" that Michael turned on that exact spot, as hoped for by the perpetrator. Still, very poor sportsmanship. That the event will allow timings done at another time is admirable on their part. Michael's response to the doctor was perfect! And the doctor's reply was equally good! Good writing!

It appears that there are two people interested in Creek. Getting interesting!

I have never seen so many similes and metaphors in any story, but each was needed to complete the poetry made prose! What powerful writing, wringing emotion with every paragraph, teaching with grace, and filled with unconditional love. Each character was rich in themselves, but Daisy, Jackson, Blake and Cash stand out in the crowd of what a true village is. Thanks for sharing such an amazing talent, @CasualWanderer82.

It's so good to be back into the Devlin-Major world once again. It is especially wonderful for the kids to visit their grandparents. That house for two people is amazing, but filled with love! Now to experience Scotland once again! I echo the sentiments about patience - the story is worth it! Take care. It will all work out!

Monday madness & Kjell is annoyed again
pvtguy commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in Monday madness & Kjell is annoyed again
The commune is working - there is a nice separation for each grouping with a time for working together. Respect is at the heart of their dealings. Kjell needs conversion therapy, lol! He's quite a tool! -
A truly lovely chapter, Danny and Nate got to clear up and move on from some unanswered questions as noted in other comments. As for what I foresee (but we'll see if I'm on the same wavelength as MPP): Nate does go off to the Army and learn some valuable skills which will come in handy when he returns and takes residence in KF!

Lyn has finally put to rest the "crush" aspect of his feeling towards Brad and has evolved to an adult friendship. Brad is like many before marriage: wondering if he is really ready and if it is the right fit. Lyn does correct that After all, it's not what Bella's family thinks; it is, rather what Bella not only thinks but commits to. I have a feeling we're going to be shown an interesting encounter between Lyn and Alexander in a bit...

Bus journey – 21 December
pvtguy commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in Bus journey – 21 December
Excellent start. We get a much better look into Mr. Russ! This will be an interesting vacation! And being in the position and similar situation with my younger brother, I certainly can empathize with Russ and Conor! -
I can't add anything more to what has been expressed about the heat of this chapter and the nature of the throuple. However, I do have a concern: They tumble into the motel covered in mud, strip and hit the bed. They shower to get the mud off, shedding also the "mud" of their (especially Cash's) inhibitions. Then, it seems they tumble back into the same bed that is full of mud, bodily fluids, sweat... yuck!

What a confidence builder for Steven! I'm glad to see that the young man was disqualified from his medal for his comment!

I'm liking the slow progression which is getting us to see things from Creek's POV. He certainly has the stereotypical mother who wants to plan his life! His building curiosity about Dailan indicates more is coming there.

Moving Saturday & sexy knickers
pvtguy commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in Moving Saturday & sexy knickers
From a cold mansion to a warm. extended-family home, The Grange (aka the Philpott Manor) has taken on a new personality. It houses a true community now. I'd like to see that Iverson's catalogue.... -
@drpaladin beat me to it: Alexander knew then he wanted to be with Lyn, yet Lyn was blind to it. Brad, it seems, may well be using hetero sex to mask his feelings for Lyn too. Now to see what he wants to speak with Lyn about and also to see if Alexander will openly admit what he wants from Lyn too! Ah...the drama!!! Well done!
