Nice cliffie! Hope the next chapter is not far off! I'm glad the two girls have been taken to a safer place. But what about the mother? The ball game is a great opportunity for the kids and adults.

How many people read all the fine print to any contract? Do you hit agree to every update to your smartphone without reading all the verbage? I think we are all guilty to a degree of this naivete. Jamie was idealistic and his hopes were being puffed up by Arthur, et al. All the masks are falling away and this is making for great drama!

There are many things coming together for the party and for Tony to become more involved in the community. He'll be laying some groundwork for his goal of the shelter. And now, on with both the Australia Day celebration and the party for the guys and their friends/families!

Ditto to all the above! Beautiful chapter!

What a new experience for Gray! He's learning that the slow development of friendship is a solid basis for a relationship - the "benefits" part becoming a natural development. Vince did not react as Gray feared - just wanted Gray to clean the interior! Lovely chapter!

Homecoming and the Aftermath

"They" here refers to the family; that doesn't mean that question were called out after he went inside (I'd bet there were inane questions screamed out!)... -
Homecoming and the Aftermath
pvtguy commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Homecoming and the Aftermath
All actions have consequences, both "bad" and "good". What Stephen has done will have to be integrated into his mind in order to proceed positively. I'm glad his parents made the appointment for him. Stephen certainly has a strong sense of morality in that he knows he killed someone even if to protect his brother and stop harm from happening. He needs to get to the point of knowing and accepting that his action was done for a greater good. Excellent writing! -
Wonderful start! It grabbed me from the first sentence! So glad to see you writing and publishing again!

"The Book Of Disquiet"
pvtguy commented on CasualWanderer82's story chapter in "The Book Of Disquiet"
I began this story absolutely disgusted at what Adrian was doing to his son and to Nick! Yet, I couldn't stop reading. It is a journey through abnormal psychology to what religions might call full redemption/salvation. I need to let this last chapter percolate some more before responding further! All I can say is this was one of the most intense reads I have ever done!- 17 comments

The drama seems to have settled to a less frenetic level. While I hate to see good stories end, I'm looking forward to the next iteration of the activities of these delightful characters! Great writing, @Robert Hugill.

This was, in fact, a nice break! Thanks.

Interrogations and Hospitals
pvtguy commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Interrogations and Hospitals
Stephen will need a lot of support as he remembers. Even though it is all justified, he could have some strong feelings about killing someone - or perhaps not. It seems that everyone connected look at him as being totally justified and not in any trouble. There is a lot of support for all of them!- 24 comments

I Let Him Watch Me All Night
pvtguy commented on StoriesByTroy's story chapter in I Let Him Watch Me All Night
Revenge is definitely working! -
If by second chance, you mean forgiveness: my morality says that one can be forgiven, but that is not the same as forgetting what was and not putting oneself in the position to be damaged again - on either part! Adrian, Nick, and Bobby could all very easily fall back into former behaviors gradually. Adrian's consequence is to move on from these two, whether living alone or maybe establishing a healthy relationship with someone else (though I'm not sure that is possible). Bobby's stopping by to see Nick at the book signing after several years' absence is a positive sign, but not one that should result in their being together necessarily.
-
After @Seraph28's erudite comment, all I can say is that you have certainly delved the depth of these humans in such a way that forces the reader to question the limits that we put on ourselves. Adrian is the most narcissistic individual I have ever encountered. Yes, he did hollow out Nick and Bobby, but Nick allowed him to do so out of "love" - he did love Adrian, and it was the most unrequited love that could have been. That he was the abusive father to Bobby to an extreme degree is not questioned; the only question is - Can Bobby build a positive life for himself from the void left by Adrian? This last paragraph hints that Nick knew he had to leave Bobby in order for that to happen. This is one very powerful tale!

Gray has lived in his own isolated world for a long time. Matt is challenging and, hopefully, helping to tear down the walls that Gray has built up. Vince and Gray are developing a very wonderful relationship!
-
It is my hope that this all turns on Wencel! He's a bottom-feeder with nothing to claim as his own, much due to apparently his father. I hope Jamie deals very succinctly with Wencel. Maybe now Hearst will finally reveal himself to Jamie! Good drama!
-
Calm chapter, yes, but I'm waiting for some unexpected events! I hope they include Tony's brother and sister showing up! It will be great to see the reemergence of Ben and Samantha! Let the party begin! Oh...and let's hope good news comes soon about the house!

Noah is definitely living out what so many like him lived through in high school/college and wish they could return the "favor" to their tormentors!
-
Leon's bedroom will definitely need a complete makeover to keep him from reliving this nightmare...perhaps the family might need to even change residences. I totally believe the psychic connection between Leon and Stephen! There is no need to worry about Uncle Mark anymore! All the Zamoras can finally live without that fear! A very powerful chapter @Lee Wilson and very well done!
-
More than anything, their doing activities together which expanded their interests and knowledge brought them together even closer! I am continually impressed with Toby's level of empathy and maturity. I might well enjoy that vegan restaurant - not my first choice in restaurants, but a delightful change of pace for my own choice of cuisine.
-
I'm so glad that they did not think of these zombies as their former neighbors, friends, family, etc. That they are building a new life and a solid community is showing by how well they work together. Each is amazing in their own way! This plan worked well, but I do agree with @centexhairysub: there is still a strong element of the unknown.
-
Harry is really doing his best for Tony as well as himself, lol. Still, he has a strong emotional connection to Tony. It is exciting to see what is going to happen with the new project. Likewise, it sounds like there might well be positive movement on the house! Now off to the party!

All Is Not Well In Columbus, Either
pvtguy commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in All Is Not Well In Columbus, Either
I do wonder how Mel came to be so homophobic. What happened at the dance with Mel and Sandy would have been dealt with more severely (perhaps it was, but was not germane to the story at this point, I guess) but would have occurred when Mel made the slur against Stephen and Michael in the district where I worked. Police would surely have been involved. Now we have another matter to worry about: Uncle Mark.- 24 comments
