Such a great start! I immediately resonated with Phil in many ways: I was married, have a son whom I raised alone after the age of 10, was a teacher for 11 years then school counselor for 36 years for the same reason Phil stated (to be a source for all students where they could feel comfortable enough to talk whatever was on their minds and feel supported)...and now here I am nearly 76 years old! Thankfully, no stroke and living in a nursing home, but wow! I admire your writing and this looks like a real keeper!

I actually have enjoyed the slow build-up - it is allowing for a deeper connection building rather than "instant" love. Keith is developing the self-confidence to own up to being himself to everyone.

They are getting more and more comfortable with each other! Enjoying a holiday with another takes a really comfortable relationship and Owain and Colin have certainly found a mutually acceptable spot. Loved this chapter!

I love how expressive you are with phrases such as: Only this time Keith was shittingly nervous.... I know I've felt like this before but never put it into such apt description! I love how they are discovering each other and becoming comfortable with themselves!

The comments are spot on! I would be somewhere between Owain and Colin on a visit: I would love to know how people live in such a place, in buildings that are very old and built for a lifestyle so different than what we are accustomed to today. As for the architecture/art of the buildings, I would admire that for sure, but not to the detail I suppose Colin is doing. And if I can attend music concerts, operas, orchestral and organ concerts - wow! You provide a great vehicle for living vicariously! Thanks.

You've certainly grabbed my interest! So much packed in this chapter: religion, small town workings, free thinking among rigid thinking, wonderful characters and an intriguing plot! I am certainly looking forward to see where this story goes!

Mum is softening. That she followed through to get a teen to help with the routine gardening is a major step for her! Storm clouds are on the horizon with Miles and Analisa. Of to Italy and some much needed fun!

@Andre Delport: you said, they do NOT dine like that at home, where meals are generally centred around the children. and are usual reasonably well balanced meals. - if spaghetti bolognaise et al can be considered balanced. What's not balanced? You have protein (meat), starch (spaghetti), vegetables (onions, celery, carrots), fruit (tomatoes)....a perfect food as far as I am concerned, lol!

I want to live that lifestyle! They are so down to earth, humble, generous and caring - models for how we are all to be. And such devoted parents! I had to laugh out loud at the bedroom scene with Jamie's question and Ryan's very quick, but truthful, answer. It may not have been totally filled with all the details, but it satisfied the curiosity for the moment and very age appropriate!

Keith so reminds me of myself...not even admitting to himself and then accepting the term "gay". Wonderful chapter. Looking forward to see what might develop with Thomas.

It will be interesting to find out just how much money is involved. They can't change the past - but can certainly use it for a lot of good in the future through a charitable trust. Joe is being recognized more as an adult by Mhari, which is good.

A beautiful tale of intrigue, murder, a massive hurricane, Native American (Seminole) culture, love and hope. Each chapter is filled with high emotion and intrigue. A thrilling read! Masterful writing keeps the reader on edge until the very end.

Absolutely beautiful! I do enjoy a HEA story, but this one is so entrenched in the messiness of life - its challenges, its hopes, its beauty and flaws. Thank you for sharing this wonderful tale.

I would counter this: the deeper someone gets into drugs, it sometimes brings out the "evil" within: anger, greed, hate. Micco's dad must have hated his life on the Rez and that hatred became the fuel for the anger that was brought out via drugs. I would agree with @drpaladin: he had to have been a dealer/kingpin to have organized such a dastardly deed as killing his wife and child.

Is it a fact or my hope that Long Ears found Martina...? Truth is finally helping Micco to be much stronger. With only one chapter left, this has been a wonderfully written journey.

There may well be hope for Colin and his mother. Annalise is the one who will be the driving force in all reconciliation that will happen. That Colin followed Owain's advice to be upfront and honest showed his mother that he is not the little boy that she wanted him to remain. Excellent chapter.

Will Keith ever have an experience with Bart and Greg? Do they even fancy such a thing? They are getting very comfortable around each other. Enjoyable chapter.

In the midst of strong tension and crisis, Micco rises to his best. In the face of evil, he is able to respond with peace, joy and love. That is what sends the evil away. Martina was drawn to the evil which she followed and most likely found its consequence. This was a very powerful chapter!

Colin's cojones have finally dropped! His confrontation with Miles was very rational and he did not allow his emotions to be hooked by Miles' attempts. I hope that things go well when Annalisa, the girls and his mum arrive. Great chapter!
