  1. <looks around sheepishly goatishly> Maybe I should have ensured against this by making the answer have nothing to do with the question? Hmmmm.. OK, question #1 for a future hunt will be "Who wrote "With Trust" and the answer will be "Oct 22nd, 1643." Shhh!!! Nobody is supposed to know about that, yet... Move along, folks, nothing to see here.. ROFL! Well, that might be a good idea, considering my inability to keep the answer quiet! Thanks Jack!!! I knew I'd get in hot water for leaking an answer.. But I had no idea it would be acompanied by hot lead!! <gulp> Why thank you, Birds!!
  2. ACK!!! NIIIIICCK!!!!!!!!!!! First he posts a recipe for Goat Stew, then for Goat meat, and now for Goat steak! I'm feeling positively endangered! Gather the herd! We got some stampedin' to do!!! :mace: But Vic, I thought misspelled titles were almost ma(n)datory arou(n)d here?
  3. This is a great story, and I loved the interplay between the characters. Well done indeed!!!
  4. Thanks Kevin! I hope everyone is having fun! Join in, there are still three days to go!!
  5. This is a very powerful story, and brings up a lot of emotions in me, rage being amongst them. Ian's "parents" disgust me beyond words, mainly because they are thoroughly (sadly) believable. I didn't think I could hate a character more than I hated Shane's father, but Ian's "father" is worse. I live in an area where fundamentalists of one ilk or another are the most common group, and all too many times I've seen parents force their kids to do what Ian had to do: speak out against this or that (homosexuality being a prime target). To give a better feel for the area, I'll mention that the local state assembly-person is noted for saying "Homosexuality leads to bestiality and cannibalism" and other hateful things. I find this story to be frighteningly realistic. Vance, this is excellent writing, and looks to be an excellent story. CJ
  6. OK, I'm a prediction addict, so, a few predictions! Daniel isn't gay! He's just very gay-accepting. Joel, however, is gay, and Eddie ends up with Joel. Any opinions, anyone?
  7. Well, you can see one answer here due to my goof this morning!
  8. Wow, somebody listens to my opinions? This story definitaly has the Goat Seal of Approval now! ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't see why they razzed you about Demitri and Caleb (I love both names) but I can see why they didn;t about Bourbon: It fits so well with his personality, and is such an integral part of the story that it;s perfect.
  9. But editing Emoe (and editor-teasing) is the funnest of all!!!
  10. I have taken great care to keep all the questions and answers secret. Each participating author knows their own set (they wrote them) but only I have the full set of questions and answers, to ensure against leaks or accidental disclosure, and to ensure the fairness of the game. Who would have guessed that the leaker would be ME? Yes, I blew it. While posting today's question set by Vlista20 (Vance) I somehow didn't edit out the answer for question #9, (which was provided to me along with the question) and it appeared next to the question. Vance noticed and PM'd me, and I removed it immediately, but it was too late, it had been online for a couple of hours. The only remedy I can think of is therefor to admit my goof, and also make sure everyone has the answer to question #9, so that no one will have an unfair edge due to my mistake. Question #9 is Story Question: Cameron: Where was Jesse originally from? The answer is Colorado. OK, now, as I'm sure many people will soon remind me, I did threaten to delete any post containing answers. But, that now no longer applies for answer #9. As it is, I should probably be reporting myself (to myself) for breaking the rules of the hunt and posting an answer! I hope I don't have to do that, as I'd surely have to lecture myself severely for this transgression. OK, I hope I haven't caused too many people side-aches from laughing at me for this goof. I'll make go make some changes to the pinned game post (which changes daily, keep checking it for more questions, and any updates or changes) and answer sheet, to make sure no one is hurt in the game by this. oops.
  11. I'm wondering about that "fishing" myself! I thing Garret is out to make his target a willing double-agent. The bad news is there is someone out there with a sniper rifle who is planning on killing Garret. Well, that sank my "Tremere is behind the Pirates" theory. That development was Totally unexpected! The odd thing is, I find myself almost liking Tremere now: He seems like a very nice guy, in a crooked, evil, corrupt kinda way. The explanation of the academy grads being targeted made sense. Not sure I believe it yet though. As for Billy's betrothed, ACK! I have a hunch she's involved in something very underhanded, somehow. Anyone have any ideas or speculation about her?
  12. It looks excelent! Clear, easy to navigate, and fast too! Well done Rob! And Congrats on your own forum, Nick!
  13. I for one would be delighted with a sequel. Especially if Cody and Tatyana feature prominently in it! Will the original "when I see you again" be re-named?
  14. That's what I think too, regarding Jay/Jeremy. I have a hunch that Frank's father has a big role to play in here somewhere, too.
  15. I know I'm really wondering about Tremere, and WHY he wants to meet with Garret! I highly doubt it's a friendly social call! Blackmail would be my guess.
  16. Please do share that! It was part of what makes that story special, and I've always wondered how you came up with it!
  17. Hi Steve!! Welcome to GA, and many of us sure do remember "Bourbon". It was one of the stories that got me hooked on gay fiction and one of my all-time favorites. Welcome to you, too Graeme! For those that don't know, Graeme is another well-known writer and the author of two of my personal favorites; "Falls Creek Lessons" and the short story "ambush". (both can be found at Awesomedude) It's absolutely great to have you both here! CJ
  18. Congratulations on the Forum and shared-hosted!
  19. Yes indeed! If no one gets all the answers, then it's the highest score, and in the event of a tie score the first person (of those with the high score) to send in their answers wins. The game is now underway! https://www.gayauthors.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=5846#
  20. The game is now underway! https://www.gayauthors.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=5846#
  21. Congratulations Joe, on your 1000th post!
  22. Welcome to the GA forums, E-307! LB, this was great! Thank you for SOOTB, and for making the final chapter one that ties up so many things, such as why Ryan dumped Connor. I'm going to miss this story!
  23. Trebs, my congratulations on your 39th birthday! That's one heck of an accomplishment coming so soon after your 41st birthday! Hmmm... Time for me to start dusting off my "time machine" theories, I see! I think it's the unexpected posting day! Caught us all off-guard! And if you are hunting with Cheney, may I suggest armor-plated long-johns and perhaps buying him a present? (a book on gun safety). And above all, DUCK! But, this chapter has moved me to do something I very rarely do: post. OK, I officially do not like Billy's betrothed! He also does not seem to be exactly twitterpated! I'm going to go way out on a limb here and predict that, in the end, Billy and Garret will be together. Either the marriage will wall through and never occur, or she dies. Hmmm, House Atrix looks like it has a new home, and one in an interesting strategic nexus: Between the Republic and the Empire. But the really big question, what does want??? What an eeeeeevil cliffie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARGH!
  24. This was a very good chapter! She's perfect for Garret, under the circumstances, and I noted something interesting: The gene-splicing to select sexual orientation. The existence of a genetic basis for orientation is still hotly debated, but DK seems to have come down on the side of it existing. Hmmm, given the eerie accuracy of some of DK's other predictions, I'm just about prepared to take this as writ! I'm very intrigued by the political angles that are playing out more and more. Very complex and involved (just like real life) and I suspect that there are plenty of aspects to this that we have not yet seen.
  25. Hi Bob!! I wasn't on vacation for as long as I thought, and didn't get any writing time, but I have been working on the extended version of NSNP, plus two different multi-chapter stories. I need quite a few chapters finished so I can avoid long waits between chapters when I post them, but I'm nearly there. Thanks! CJ
