Hi Tom! You know where to find the answer to the question of "When on friday will the full announcment and description be posted to the Lounge?" (hint: It's not where ya think... ") CJ

I forgot to post it... Forgot to hit the "add Reply" button, anyway. Hey, this posting thing is complicated when you are a shy lurker who never posts... Here is the link to the new thread! https://www.gayauthors.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=5713

I'm really intrigued by Ch 11! There seems to be a lot of very pretentious things going on, but I wanted to speculate on just a few:

[dkstories] THE BULLY IS BACK !
C James replied to AudioAl's topic in Promoted Author Discussion Forum
I liked the new look, and also the new graphics (including the "The Bully" one). As for the chapter, the best of the series so far IMHO! Definitely some unexpected twists there! I love the character of "Daniel", he's far more complex than I assumed at the start, and I was surprised by a heck of a lot! BTW, speaking of changes and such to web sites, and chance that "the Bully" will be getting it's own sub-forum? It certainly deserves it IMHO. I assumed at the start that Daniel was gay, and that Eddie was in denial. I think I'm wrong. I think Eddie is gay, but I'm no longer sure about the denial. The comment about "my cup is to tight for this" when Daniel was playing on their "joke" makes me think he knows he's attracted to guys. Daniel, though, I was sure was gay, but now I am thinking otherwise. He's obviously very gay-accepting, but that kind of clowning around doesn't strike me as something a gay guy would ever do, and certainly not a closeted one. I really, really liked Daniel's sense of humor! Joel, though, given his interest in the subject of "curing" homosexuality, is one I'm betting is gay. Eddie's fight with his father explains a lot to me, such as his bullying. He's darn lucky his bigger than his father, and also that he has such great grandparents. I loved his Grandfather's "unconditional love", and the fact he made a point of mentioning it (I'm betting he suspects). I loved this chapter! Best so far! Thank you, DK and Emoe!! -
Soon, very soon, (This Friday, Sept 8th, to be exact) the full official announcement will be made, here in the Lounge. It will describe the game and prize in full, and also the game dates. But for now, a few hints, to see if you guys are ready for this! Hmmm, let's see... Now, did everyone see the birthday present some of our Authors made for AFreindlyFace (Kevin)? What do Viv, Jack Scribe, RHawes, Vlista (Vance), and Dezlboi all have in common? What time on Friday will the full announcement of the Great G.A. Scavenger Hunt be made?

Hi CJ When the MODERATOR speaks, we have to obey No more political discussions in the DK's house the next will be hidden I understand your position Old bob Hi Bob! Whoa! Whether there are political discussions in DK's house is NOT for me to decide, nor was I even trying to say whether they were or not. (See DK's post above. Thank you DK!!!!) All I was saying was that as a moderator *I* (this only applies to me, no one else!) needed to be extra careful not to make posts that might be on the edge of the rules. To be clear, I was only policing myself (due to circumstances that apply only to me), no one else. CJ

Uhoh! OK, Davey, no need to send you Mum after me! I guess I can make a special announcement, that might just answer some questions! I'll post it as a new thread in a few minutes.

Buhahahaaha!!! I love that top image! Was that something you added? -
Wow, Kevin, what a great day!! I love the way you write! I really enjoyed reading that. Note to Self: if Kevin ever sees my wardrobe, he will immedialty burn my Gay Card.

Wow, thanks Nick! :king: :king: :king: Congrats on the big 1000... :king: :king: :king:

My two cents' worth: I'm bothered that people are writing to complain that there has been no sex, and that it should occur by chapter XXX at the latest. Ugh. IMHO, it's your story, and that means you decide. If you want sex, put it in, if you don't, then don't. As for my opinion on TOSOM, I think it's great, period, sex or no sex. But, I also think it shouldn't matter what I think. It's your story, tell it your way.

I loved it! Very intriguing. I loved the introspective way it opened. Spoiler below: Highlight to see the text, but ONLY if you have read the chapter!

Congratulations to Nick, the 8th member of the Millennium Club!

Oops! Proof (as if more were needed) that I can't type! I meant Lucas... ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hmmmm... I suspect Garret might be about to have something (someone) wrapped around him, indeed! ACK, It's only Monday and I can't wait for Friday! No mention of that pirate Currier ship from Ch 10... Hmmm, I wonder what they were up to? I predicted they would play a big roll in Ch 11, but I sure got that one wrong! I'm guessing that there may be actual combat coming up in Ch 12: There was much made of loading and restocking ammo.

Thank you Eddy! I'm working on it! I have been overwhelmed by the comments! My deepest thanks to you and everyone! CJ

When you saw that, did you perchance exclaim in amazement: "By the Little Buddha!"??? I think the explanation is simple: It's all part of DK's plan to take over the world! BTW, speaking of whether DK is good enough to not need editing, wouldn't it be horrible if some unkind soul ( ) highlighted the typo in that very sentence? Psssst, Emoe, what he has done, as part of his plot for world domination, it to create a text version of U (the drug in VJII). But Shhhh, it's a secret, and if he finds out anyone knows, he might send Jarrod after them.... What? Possible promiscuity? Surely such a thing could never occur? Uhoh! What is that I see coming up? Is it a hot tub scene with Garret, Lomax, and the Twins?
-
That does look good!! I've been itching to know what the title is, and the description really sounds intriguing!!!

ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not saying I'm right, but I have seen many references to the physical severing of the corpus collosum resulting in true dual personalities (due to the two halves of the brain being unable to communicate with each other). I did a quick search, and found the following links: http://www.indiana.edu/~pietsch/split-brain.html The last paragraph is very relevant IMHO: "Each half brain can hold different emotions about a subject. Split brain patients learn very quickly how to keep both sides in communication. Just like Gazzaniga, they talk the words across. When potential conflicts arise about, say, who gets to use the voice box, the dominant hemisphere automatically wins, thus averting crises before they start. How this can happen with a severed corpus callosum is a good question. Possibly, an impulse reaches down into the brain stem, crosses over to the other side and issues a subconscious "shut up!" to the independent but still somewhat meek and mild right cerebral hemisphere." http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-the-corpus-callosum.htm An excerpt: "Split-brain patients may also develop a dual personality, one loosely associated with each hemisphere, a sort of "Jekyll and Hyde" effect. For this reason, the removal of the corpus callosum is highly controversial, and only performed in cases in which epileptic seizures are extremely resistant to drug-based treatments." http://www.mental-disorder.net/wb/pages/pe...ty-disorder.php Excerpt: "Or the corpus callosum (the part of the brain that joins the left and right halves of the cerebral cortex) may be severed due to trauma or surgery designed to cure severe epilepsy, and this may in turn cause the rise of multiple personalities. This particular type of MPD is often described as

well, not those kinds of marks, anyway. ROFL!! Well, IMHO the non-Jarrod kind are more fun. There were some things that shook me, too. One of them (is this what you had in mind?) is that the Democracy movement appears, for the moment, to be one of the "bad guys". That is kind of jarring, but that kind of perceptual difference really highlights the societal differences and makes for top-notch sci-fi IMHO. Gary's reactions, and it's description as "Insubordination that Garret chose to ignore" was a classic! Poor Gary, though: all this time Garret says he can't, and then all of a sudden it's Garret and the twins, and now (quite possibly) Garret and he of the hot legs (whose name I can't recall for some reason). I just love Ada's attitude! I wonder what she will do to the twins (and maybe Garret) next? I also suspect that the description we had of the Lexington wasn't for nothing. This chapter felt short to me too. It was under 6000 words. But, everything fit and a lot was covered, and I suspect DK had reasons for ending it where he did (do we get to see what happens with Garrets date?)

Happy 21st, Drew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have yourself a great Birthday!!! The 21st is one of the best!!! :king:

Hi Knotme! Thanks! I was exceedingly nervous about this, but I had a blast, and I'm hooked! I've done much the same (finaly gotten somewhere, and then realized: "What now?") BTW, the actions of Trevor and Jason were one of the sub-themes of the story: Take a chance. I used to surf Rincon and the beaches in the area (I grew up near there) so I've seen quite a few accidents and rescues, and I know that the penalties and fines for climbing those bluffs are really steep. Many are worse than sandstone, they are clay aggregate (basically, hard clay dirt with some rock). Some of the ones near Rincon are like that. I was hoping the "strange, sweet smell" would fake people out. Part of what I was trying for with that and Jason's reluctance to have an ambulance, plus his reluctance to talk about his past was to make people wonder about drugs, at first. Plus, I've seen surfers play the "Sex wax" joke plenty of times, so it just seemed to fit. Thanks very much for the comments! C J

Now that would be tough!! There are some where it's hard to tell, and plenty of members who rarely post, or haven't posted in ages, and so would be hard to find without looking at all 2800 or so members accounts. BTW, Kevin was right, there really is a great prize for the winner of the hunt!

[LittleBuddhaTW] SOOTB 25
C James replied to LittleBuddhaTW's topic in Promoted Author Discussion Forum
Wow, those are some interesting ideas! I especially liked the one about their Father being a key to what has gone on. As for the couples, I keep bouncing back and forth, but my tentative prediction is Ryan-Connor, Toby-Cody, and Ben-Dominic. However, I'm by no means sure, and I think your prediction sounds very likely too. -
Happy Birthday Jared!!!!!!! I hope you have a great year! Best Wishes; CJ

Normally I'd assume that, but, we are after all in the home of Vampire Jarrod, and I had no way of knowing if you had puncture marks on your neck. I've had that: knowing there is a new chapter here, and being unable to read it. Sorry it happened to you! As for falling asleep, I almost did too, but I'd been working at it was close enough to the time, so i did one check before shutting down for the night, and there it was. Of course, I couldn't resist reading it, so I was even later getting to bed. ROFL! I think there is a lot of that going around these days. So what did you think? I think my favorite part was Ada shocking one of the Twins. That made me laugh out loud!
