    It's an incredible shot..
  2. The good news is, it's a reality show, so everyone's life was destroyed already anyway.
  3. Wow, that was incredibly powerful, Gary. I'm welling up. It's a really strong start.

    Tonight

  5. I think it's valuable to bear in mind that Cosby, like any other celebrity, really is a stranger. The feeling that we're all to some degree his character witnesses is an illusion. Presumption of innocence is definitely owed to him, but I actually have an internal belief that he could not have done this, because I liked his TV character so much when his show was on the air, and that's just irrational.
  6. LOL. You are my one and only encounter with the phenomenon so I'm still able to find it kind of endearing A second source of 90s nostalgia might drive me to my limits kind of quickly. There is no such thing as 80s nostalgia
  7. James, I've had such a long day, can you not just tell us???

    Yes, me too!

    This one's incredible, Sam.
  10. Also, if you are in India, it is dangerous for you to put yourself in the power of someone who may be unsympathetic. I'm very sorry. Do you have a way to meet gay people?

    Chapter 9

Awesome chapter Sasha! Great cliffhanger too, I'm now giggling nervously waiting for the black hat's approach
  12. I would like to respectfully take issue with the term "gritty." While the sex is explicit, the narrative is very gentle and sweet. Dare I say, romantic
  13. Hee. I don't know about the smoking bit, but do be careful in the park after dark. And don't swim on Ocean Beach! Edit: I do get the impression it's safer now than when we moved south. Not the beach, the currents and cold are still scary, but the crime. 24th & Valencia felt downright domestic a few weeks ago.
  14. Happy belated birthday, Krista! I hope it's a great year!
  15. Interesting! the first one is really neatly arranged till you get to the last line and then just kick the whole structure apart. Is that to emphasize the descent into reality? I really like the second, too, it sounds like a nursery rhyme but not knowing the context I can't tell if it's derived from something traditional?
  16. I really like this piece, Dolores. Although the line lengths vary near the end, I can imagine a soloist delivering the bad news in musical form! And you've got a single coherent message from beginning to end, which can be tough to achieve when you're working with a new technique.
  17. Many many congratulations, fluffy!
  18. Happy birthday dear Dugh! I hope you get all you wish for!!!
  19. While I agree with you on the larger point, the biblical excuse for anti miscegenation laws, which were on the books in places like SC into the 2000s, is not from Leviticus but from Paul's Epistle to the Galatians, or at least that's what modern preachers have used as their rationale. Edit: No, I'm wrong. The constitutional amendment in SC was 1998 (a friend of mine was one of the few in his precinct who voted in favor, that's why I remember the Galatians thing) and Alabama was 2000.
  20. Sniffle. I can't enjoy anything while Jonah is pining and believing that Ren loves Eric. Also I'm totally unenthused about him breaking Sandro's heart. We've had enough of that kind of thing.
  21. I already posted mine: I got the expected perfect lippie (MAC Russian Red) and an awesome oyster mushroom garden to sit between the orchids. No one was too crazy about mine to them this year, but I got a belated one too---I'd splurged on nice sleds for the kids and my niece and we had no snow at all. You couldve seen me pouting from space. Then yesterday on our last day Mr irri reluctantly hauled kids and sleds another hour.uphill, found one icy slope, sent everyone down, and got me video. Best of all I sat on the couch the whole time
  22. Oh what a great epilogue! I really like how you've given us an insight into Harrison, Cole, and I loved hearing Chad address Roy as "sweetie" as well. And what a relief when the minister and his wife turned out to be nice! I'm sure college will be really challenging, but for Harrison to experience and for you to write, but I'm looking forward to it!

    Chapter 8

On the one hand, brrrr, a man in a skirt in rural Texas On the other, GO ASHLEE! I really enjoyed this chapter and I hope Madison turns out to be a good friend.
