Week Five Monday September 29, 2014: Riddles
skinnydragon commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Five Monday September 29, 2014: Riddles
Thanks for the great review CG! Maybe Sam's smoking makes him so sensitive ...haha Danny gave Twoey something to rebuild with. We can only hope he will use it. I think Danny needs to work with David, but y'know. -

Thanks mmike for recapping cap for us, who by now have all forgotten everything it's been so long! Sort of like a cap of cappuccino. -
Giggles Perfect! Just the kind of Halloween story I like. Great little story Gee!!

We need to stay together as a gang. Ten o’clock, we gathered at Nels's house. Finally there were some leads. Sam had friends who knew one of the responding EMTs. He said the boy who was alive had a bullet wound in his neck, lost tons of blood and isn't expected to live. He said bullet wounds of the neck are almost always fatal. The dead boy was shot in the head and the man was also shot in the head, but his looked like a suicide. We spent most of the next few hours trying to come up with scena

Chapter 47 Learning a New Game
skinnydragon commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 47 Learning a New Game
Another super chapter Gary! We'll eventually find out the bad stuff Bodie's been through, I'm sure. As Drew pointed out, it's interesting both he and Nate had a rough time. I don't think it's gonna take them long to figure each other out though, if they haven't already. If I'm not mistaken they'll be pleasantly squeezed together in that Ford pickup on the way home ...hehe. M&K might have to be a little firm once they move, Nate & Bodie might want to take advantage of them and their house a bit. I mean, it's gotta seem safer for them than a home with a mom in it. lol Next the dog! OK I can wait a little! -
What Parker fears could happen, if not now then later. The only thing that might help is the fact there are others around who could influence David. Even a severely negative influence could change his course.

Here's what I do, but don't forget I have lots of chapters (122) in Twoey so for a story with 30 chapters, say, you might want to space them out more. As a reader, what I dislike a bit is when chapters are months apart, because I have to reread several chapters to remember character names and their personalities. I'm not complaining, everybody has a day job and their personal issues to deal with. Also some authors have a jillion stories going at once, so I get that. But when you read a lot of stories, characters can get mixed up if they lay fallow for long periods of time. OK back to what I do. From your stats you can see when the latest chapter has settled into only a few new viewers per day. That's when I put a new chapter up on Twoey, which again is gonna have a lot of chapters. And then, they're all pretty much written too, although I make changes all the time, sometimes even in response to reviews. So for Twoey that has been every third or fourth day. I'm not sure whether a chapter per day allows the story to sink in enough. That's just me. Vignettes on the other hand doesn't require too much memory and it's not really a story so I post about once every week or two. It's almost over anyway. I'll have to think of something else sorta off the wall ...hehe. I don't want to tell you what to do with a-to-z, cuz it's your story! I like seeing them at the same pace as Twoey, but maybe it's because they've hit the same day so often. WOW ...all that crap and I didn't even answer your question ...sorry!

Yes. It's a sad truth. It is definitely a turning point in David's life. His extra problem involves the internal conflict over his feelings for Twoey, or at least the implications of those feelings. He can't live with those implications. If Twoey dies, maybe his conflict dies too. If Twoey lives, who knows what will happen.
-
You're right. That's why it's going to take a long time for Eric to come up with a proper internal meaning for love. Maybe he would be better off mentally with a start-over. He's sorta begun by changing his name. Now if he could begin to mold a new me, then it might make it easier. (I'm obviously no shrink.) I chuckled over the starfish/ballerina comparison because in 18 Weeks, many chapters ahead, David is going to make a similar comparison, although not with those items ...haha.
-
IMHO It probably would take him a very long time surrounded by complete love with no serious bumps in the road. If he had that always around him, he would eventually survive. But if there was any further betrayal by someone he should trust, then my guess is all bets are off.

Wellll, probably about 16 chapters

Peace - Truth - Alone In A Crowd
skinnydragon commented on Mikiesboy's story chapter in Peace - Truth - Alone In A Crowd
Tim As we expect, Lovely writing throughout I feel aspects than unveil me It's what poetry's all about It's not just rhymes and meter wrought But heart and fear and soul let free -
Eric sure had 'stupid' beaten into him. However, he shows us he is anything but stupid. I wonder what it will take to undo all that brainwashing he got, or if it's even possible to shake it all. He ran into a friendly trooper who should have been wiser, then into an unfriendly older lady. Oh well, more items to add to his list ...hehe. At least he's over the mountains. Maybe he'll find something good in the warm valleys. Good job Parker! Can't wait for more adventures!

Week Four Thursday September 25, 2014: Twin Exposure
skinnydragon commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Four Thursday September 25, 2014: Twin Exposure
Thanks for reviewing Lisa! I think Tommy's mother has maybe drunk too much of the cool aid. I'd be freaked too, but Twoey is smack in the middle of discovering himself. Everybody says David is stringing Kathy along, but he's not gay (or so he says) and there's no reason for him not to be with Kathy, although I don't think he feels anything for her but sympathy, and of course the pressure from his future brother-in-law -
A sad but nice chapter Wolfman! I wonder how Andrew and Dan are going to let Matt just return to the street? I know they probably don't want to have a teenager underfoot, but I'm guessing they're going to think of something. At least I hope they are! Can't wait for more!

Week Four Sunday September 28, 2014 Unfulfilled Dreams
skinnydragon commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Four Sunday September 28, 2014 Unfulfilled Dreams
Thanks for the thoughts Parker. Of course you're right. We read of a tragedy in the paper but never think of how it affects so many people, and often so deeply. If Twoey survives he will have a different outlook I'm sure. Will he be afraid to love again? Hmmm. Maybe it's a good thing he lives with his counselor -
Week Four Sunday September 28, 2014 Unfulfilled Dreams
skinnydragon commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Four Sunday September 28, 2014 Unfulfilled Dreams
Thanks for the review CG! Yeah I cried a little too as I wrote this. Unfortunately I edited and rewrote it a thousand times, and each time brought a tear. I loved Danny and hated that he died. David's in a tough but necessary place right now. Maybe Dad will begin to see the light, we can only hope. -
A wonderful chapter CG! Mikey's gonna be in for a weekend of surprises. I hope they get that FM radio installed. AM sounds like it wasn't very interesting then. Of course it's even worse now. It was sort of like FM today, all talk and commercials. Too bad they didn't have satellite. I really enjoyed Cal. We're learning a lot more about his personality and he seems absolutely perfect for Benny. Benny needs someone he's not afraid of intimidating, not to mention all the other extra advantages that comes with the Callie package. I wonder if they'll fit in at the barn. But that's for another chapter! Great work my friend!!

Week Four Sunday September 28, 2014 Unfulfilled Dreams
skinnydragon posted new chapter in 18 Weeks of Twoey
At death, your unfulfilled dreams fade away. The alarm buzzed at 6:30 for my run. I smashed it off. There would be no run today. In fact, I probably only fell asleep an hour ago. I had cried all night. Cried until I couldn't understand how my body could still produce tears. At fifteen years old, your life is said to sprawl out before you. Many paths diverge from where you now stand. Each entices you with its own possibilities. Each frightens you with unknown dangers. Each confronts you with un- 17 comments

Wow! I can't believe I never saw this story before. But I'm all caught up now! Good thing you write so slowly (jk). You're building a pretty involved mystery for us MGK, and we were already invested in Davy from Chapter 1. A whiff of Francis and now here he is, with danger lurking and something he knows. Can't wait for more!

Thanks Renee for a wonderful story. I'm happy it ended here. Maybe there can be future adventures the boys will get into, but it's certainly not necessary. The title actually says it all. Reece's choice. He made a good one!

He got to eat, got a few bucks and got a terrible flashback... Dad, Uncle Ray, bad times. I hope he can separate nightmare from reality, but today's experiences certainly won't help. The worry here is once he's done it, selling himself is now on the table if he is desperate, Sad times for Stefan/Eric.

Chapter 14 Is this Nathan?
skinnydragon commented on Dodger's story chapter in Chapter 14 Is this Nathan?
Haha! OMG Robbie's managed to get himself in over his head in such a short time! Nathan has to know and Doug suspects and now we have Fran and the naughty notewriter too. I'm sure he never, in his wildest imagination, thought Canada would present him with this much drama! A great chapter Dodger! I can't wait to see how this is all going to unravel
