A great chapter that lightened the somber mood of the prior chapter. There are hints that Thad's recovery will be slow. Trevor will continue to get training as an alpha even if he doesn't become one yet. That's for WolfM to decide. It would make a great story for a future addition to this series. IMO Randy will make a great wolf and have no problem with turning. He trusts and cares for both Trevor and Skylar. I love the comments with all the different POVs and ideas discussed. It's going to be interesting to see what happens in the next chapters.

Nice try at distracting us, but we haven't forgot. It gives me more reason to believe we will see him again. We might also see more of the young wolf who attacked him.

There were some interesting surprises as Devin revealed more of his family's history. These new revelations provide the story with many different ways to develop. The science of DNA as a basis for the changes was cleverly used. I won't speculate on all the possibilities it creates, because I just want to be surprised at each turn in the story. I do believe, based on their past history, that Devin and Michael want to be lifelong partners.

The Darkness Between Door is the third story in the Doors series. It is full of action and adventure as Derry, Cally and Grandpa Mike continue their search for clues to discover what caused the Armenti Empire to fall. It is certainly my favorite of these great stories. Nyf (an AI) and our heroes' next trip is to the vacation planet, Rustgevend, where they will find many dangers. Geron has created some interesting worlds in the series and this one is unique. It is filled with a variety of different species from the old empire. As always in Geron's stories the writing is excellent and the characters engaging. I recommend this story highly, but suggest you start with the first in the series.

Of the three stories, this is my favorite. The great menace was definitely scary and felt like a living hell that could easily destroy the empire. I also liked that Crowla brought about his own demise. This is a very satisfying ending that leaves me wanting more stories. It would be fun if the guys could use this planet as an R&R stop occassionally between adventures. I'm sure they would have fun telling their friends here the story of the latest adventure around a campfire. They couldn't do that back home on Earth.
-
I too think the rescue of Crowla will be dangerous, and feel that he will deserves whatever he gets if they just leave him there and lock the door. However, I also know that the living cloud that makes you run in fear might be the great menace and they need to know more. I just hope they all get out alive if they cross thru the door. I do love the new stories you have been posting lately Geron. Is the fantasy you mentioned one of them?

As with all plans, good or not, there is bound to be something that goes wrong. I just hope it is not fatal to one of the team. The rescue of the Aginshir people went well, but I have no doubt this will be as easy. Still enjoying the action!

Some good action, and I'm glad Derry's augments are working. His quick reaction probably saved members in their party.

To see something like this must be a shock for the younger members of the team. I would have had a very difficult time watching the criminal execution of innocent people. I do hope the catch the murderer before he kills the last Narthie.
-
Gilden is an inquisitive young adventurer. I did like the discussion of the nature of trade on Rustgevend. People living in a relative safe and diverse environment like this are fortunate compared to the others trapped in more isolated spots. I do fear for the Narthies. From what was described Mike might find dead bodies when he arrives at the station.

I also read most poems more than once. Mainly the first time is to savor the words. The second is to try to understand, and also find meanings that I may have first missed. Your point was clear, but that may be because we often exchange information in comments and PMs. I like the fact that you both honest and talkative. It make it a pleasure for me to read and talk back.

It is better today and at least the last half of yesterday. It all depends on which way the winds blow. From the north-Bad. From the south-Much better. The rainy season usually doesn't start for another 4-6 weeks. Of course that is if traditional weather patterns hold. For the past several years those patterns are screwy. How's your herd of cats?

Great to see Brad back on his feet. I wish I could have seen the faces when CJ and Owen made the announcement. Liz is one special lady. I did love CJ explanation of why they are starting their family now. I totally agree. My father was great, but he was 42 when I was born. He didn't have the energy, time or skills to teach me the things a young father would. He gave me what he could though. I got the love, affection and attention when he came home each night from working in his country store. It was a 12 hour day for him everyday except major holidays. Their child will be bless in some ways like I, but have a much richer experience and much more support in their extended family.

Hey Drew! How was your day?

Hi Page Hope you all had a great day.

Good Morning Bucket.

A Good Outlook is a great mantra to remember. It is much the way I deal with life. It was what I was taught. I got a big belly laugh from Roped and Tied. It reminded me of the conversations I have heard when attending bachelor parties in the past.

I read each poem many times. They form an intriguing grouping. It was like I was reading bits of your soul.

Getting sleepy here. Goodnight All!

The demonstration of the 'cattle prod' was reassuring for grandpa and the boys. Now they have determined their goal, they do need more planning. Mike might feel that a group of seven provides too many targets, but when compared to the force against them is seems very small to me. Especially since four of the group can be killed by the 'cattle prods'.

These are all so lovely. I felt enlivened and energetic just reading them. I had no favorite, but did want to comment on the beautiful images of nature you created in Life Is Short.

Hi Dugh! Hope all is well your way.

Good Morning Gary! I hope it's a nice day for a walk in your woods. I am relaxing a bit, and read some of your Cosy Contemplations.
-
Yum! I will be on the lookout for them! 😄 Do I need a net to catch them as they are dropped from the sky?

Good morning Drew! Any naughty plans for the day?
