  1. Some days are better than others, but each day has a reward. That little guy sounds adorable, like a special reward to end the day.

Another adorable ugly baby is added to the family. The family reunion in Miami went well for the most part. The shark tagging was very exciting, and I got caught up in the action. CJ and César's argument was bad. Neither is blameless. I was glad that Brett was there to knock their heads together before it go out of hand. I do understand the grandparents desire to downsize. Done it myself, and glad I did. It freed up time for me to live in each day and worry less about tomorrow.
  3. Hi Clo! How are you today?

I remember reading about the Stonewall Riots. It was a first for gays to be mentioned in newspapers and on TV at the time. The fact that gays were striking back was inspirational. I am pleased whenever a writer memorializes the event. It should never be forgotten. I have been in and participated in Pride events, however never in New York. The tour with CJ and Owen was so well written, I could picture myself there. Thanks, Carlos.

A lovely poem that expresses the great love between you and your children. You should frame it and post it on the door of the room where their memories reside on the walls, floors and furniture.
  6. I just had to read this again. I laughed my ass off with this stanza. I hope you find your man with class. I hope he doesn't give you a box of Cad-bury chocolates. 😄 Looking forward to new laments, but going on to Cozy Contemplations now.
  7. These are powerful and true words Gary. I wish that teachers would take this poem and have the students dissect and discuss every aspect of the poem. Poems like this reach beyond the beauty of the words.
  8. No problem. Drew, solo estás reavivando las llamas de La Résistance!
  9. I had a fun day yesterday. Aod went with his sister and her girlfriend to see the new Dungeons and Dragons movie. My best friend, Mana, and I went to dinner at Chez Butcher, a halal beef restaurant. After we sampled a few craft beers at Keep, an outdoor bar directly on the Ping River. Aod decided to have a hotpot dinner with some more friend at our condo. Mana and I got in a couple of pool games to end the evening. I love having Naw and Ling, Aod's sister and her girlfriend, over a lot. Those two always make sure to clean up everything before they leave. It was a great day.
  10. Two years later, this poem reminds me of how cruelly the Covid pandemic affected our lives so many different ways. I am once again thankful that this is rapidly becoming history.
  11. I just finished and reviewed this story. It is every bit as wonderful as before. Looking forward to reading the next two stories in the series.
  12. Derry and Cally are two country boys who are more than best friends. They play in and explore the huge adjoining farms their families have owned for over a hundred years. Cally stumbles upon a remarkable mound and together they uncover a staircase and a black door. They don't say a thing to anyone, but back home at dinner they have an interesting discussion. What's behind the black door? Is it safe to go thru? You'll have to read to find out what kind of adventure they will have as they search to find the secrets behind the black door. Geron always fills his imaginative, fun filled stories with wonderful characters, humorous dialogue and intriguing twists in the plot. I recommend this great read. I am sure you will enjoy the two sequels that follow the tale. Just a note, this is a novella length story with plenty of places you can stop to take a breath if needed.

    Chapter 1

It's been a while since I first read the story, but I love it just as much as the first time. Now its onward to the next door. 😄

    Chapter 1

Many years ago I read the books in the Nexus series and enjoyed them. The only commonality with this story is the use of doors to travel. In Nexus the doors don't lead to alternate planets, but alternate realities of the earth from branches in the timelines. Clark is a good author, but his writing is darker and doesn't have the humor of your writings, @Geron Kees.

That was a great description of a road trip. It brought up many memories of ones I took in my SUV throughout the western states. I loved to shunpike and discover unique places. I also shopped for things of interest and collected a case of wine or two along the way. With the SUV, at least I didn't have to pay to send them home.

OK Then I will add you to the brave men I know.
  18. If you are a god, then provide some intervention here! Weather gods are a screwy bunch now days.

The most I've dealt with at one time was three. You're a brave man Chris!

    Chapter 5

Beckett saved a lot of time caving to Parallax's request. Probably a scratch or two also considering their history.

    Chapter 5

Mine make me open doors, although two of them taught themselves to do that. Orange, my cat, make a point (literally) of waking me up each morning to fill her food bowl. She doesn't scratch, but gently taps me with her paw (I can also feel the claws) on any exposed place on my body. To say she is persistent is a huge understatement.

    Chapter 5

Typical cat! Every cat that owned me made the same kind of demands!

    Chapter 5

What fun! Beckett gets to play a detective on a case to save the Cosmos. No ship required if he can use portals to travel. So many questions! Who stole the missing star? Why did they steal it? What can Beckett do that Parallax cannot? Does Colby get to help him? I love your twisted plots Cia!
  24. I cry with at change. It has become so much worse, it feels like a cursed. Sorry Gary, I just could not resist commenting in a pitiful haiku.
  25. Too often in the last three years we have witness how corrupt leaders in politics, religion and the economy have put their own self interests before what is morally right. Time and again the victims are those most vulnerable. I feel the rage you felt when writing poem.
