Featured Story: Boundaries: An Old West Tale
raven1 commented on Cia's blog entry in Gay Authors News
I was wondering where the 4th western was. I haven't read all of your short stories yet, but this one is open on a tab and ready to be read in the morning. Thanks for posting this!- 13 comments

This story continues to be growing and developing a good plot to go with these characters. I hope the camping trip goes well for Tim and Jon. The outdoors is a great place to learn about each other in both of their forms.
-
Tim and Jon make a good pair and have the common sense and determination to face challenges to their love. It looks like all the family and friends will be there to back them except Jon's mom. She'll be the challenge. It is also great that the pack they are staying with is both welcoming and accepting. I think it's going to be an interesting trip back home for both men.

As Gary said, the stage is set, and I am more than ready for the fireworks to start. Great chapter!

@wolfwriter,There are some very interesting differences and similarities developing in the story that I like. These mainly relate to the development of the characters, families and friends. Jennie is a loving mom and Jon loves her. However, I do find that she is much more controlling, stubborn and even bigoted than the average great mom. Tim's mom is dead, so presented me with one of the difference family structures of both men. Tim is an only child being raised by a wonderfully supportive father. Jon's father is also a good man who supports Jon and can accept not only that Jon is gay, but the possibility that Jon's mate might be human or a different species. Jon doesn't to have friends at this point, but they may not be revealed yet. What Jon does have are incredibly accepting and supporting brothers. Tim's friends seem to provide the same acceptance and support for Tim that make them like Jon's brothers. Tim's dad reinforce that idea that these friends are like Tim's brothers when he was asked to help Jeremy. He honestly stated that Tim's friends were all like sons to him. My observations are all character driven. That is because a sign of a great story is the ability of an author to create empathic and engaging characters which capture the reader's heart and imagination. Characters you can love, hate or be constantly irritated with until they are redeemed or vilified are developing nicely in this tale. I may be wrong, but it does seem that Tyler's conversation with Jon was much more emotional than the twins. When Tyler talked about Jon leaving, Tyler's telling Jon he would miss him seemed a more needful and deeply emotional statement. I'm really getting into this story.

I like the beginning of this story. It is written well and is easy to read. Setting up the foundations for a story is a difficult task, but you did it well by giving us the basics of the problem(s) and characters. I am looking forward to reading the next few chapters.

I knew it! @kbois loves the Korner Krew and is even recruiting new members for us. This proves it. I just read a new review of Spirit Wolves by @DamnDogs and this is her response: Response from the author: I'm so glad you enjoyed the story! (She should, it helps her in the competition for reviews with @Mrsgnomie.) Book 2-Shadow Effect is currently underway. Still plenty of time to catch up. Beware the Krew. They're a little nuts, but they grow on you after a while. (Like moldy things in the back corner of the refrig. Isn't she so sweet?) Always room in the Korner for one more, just shove one of them out of the way. (Don't worry we have a lot of space for your new recruits in the multidimensional Korners! It's nice she shows how concerned she is about us.) Please recommend if you haven't already and thanks for the review! (She is so polite. She even said please and thanks.)

Good Morning Dugh!

Hi Page! I see you are up bright and early today!

Wow! What a powerful conversation between Garjah and Essell. I didn't realize how deeply the Kardoval's methods had hurt Garjah. I kind of think Essell's plan will be to strike at the psyche of the Kardoval, and hurt them enough that they will not be able to function in their inherited position. Just a guess. Essell isn't a deadly violence kind of guy, so I don't expect that kind of plan from him.

Fun chapter, Aditus. As mentioned by you in one comment, I also like that Kavan doesn't become an instant vampire when he was turned. I like how he is learning and training to become stronger and more dangerous. Emil is an interesting vamp with his sarcastic sense of humor. I was laughing as I read the conversation about Maria's cat, Calamity Jane. Kavan's talents/gifts are a dangerous combination. Kavan would/will make a highly effective assassin. When Warren tried to surprise them in The Tavern, I did wonder if Kavan's shadow melder/dancer gift was the result of need or luck rather than power or genetics. I too suspect that the clan business excuse was a setup to trap Kavan and Konstantin. The Tavern was an interesting way to introduce the fact that this universe not strictly for vampires only. I enjoyed reading this chapter!

Featured Story: Boundaries: An Old West Tale
raven1 commented on Cia's blog entry in Gay Authors News
I am a fan of western genre. However, it is not the genre that makes a great story, but how well the story has been written. Like all of the many different stories Gary has written in many different genres, Boundaries is a story I will treasure. I could easily repeat what Spike and northie have said, because their statements are so true. As you know Gary, Boundaries was a beautiful and unexpected surprise for me. I said it in my review and will say it again. This story will delight readers no matter their genre preferences. @spike382, Your feature is a very well written review of Boundaries. Good job! I am now following this blog as a result of your review.- 13 comments

As one of Gary's legion of fans, I concur with northie's analysis of Gary's talents as a writer. I would like to add one addition to the description. Gary does in depth research to make sure his stories also have an honest, authentic feel, especially the dialogue.- 13 comments

Good Evening All! I'm going to step out for a while to read Spike's blog. Back in a few.
-
Good Evening Drew! Hope you had a nice day.
-
Hey Gary. Maybe you should add some small print he's duty free, so Spike can claim him.

I can't believe in my wildest imagination that dugh will reject this one. This one looks to much like Taylor Lautner! I don't suppose he's a shifter also, but that would be an awesome bonus for dugh! Good thing Drew's not awake yet!
-
Another poisonous Australian plant?
-
Lucky you! I'm retired, not an invalid. Drew's being a mother hen. That position is already filled. His name is Aod! I definitely don't need a second Boss Nanny! One stubborn, overprotective boyfriend is enough!

So damned right. I have had too many infant class flights between the US and Asia. It's a good thing for Jay, Loe and other fliers that Loe and Jay chartered the plane. It was only a 90 minute flight for Jay and Loe, but would have been an eternity in hell for commercial fliers from PDX if Loe and Jay had taken that option.

Nutty crazy guess? That's you! However, I do believe it is definitely in the realm of possibility, and I could easily see that as a great reason for the dip shit parents bizarre behaviors.

This is the best chapter yet!!!!!!! It is exactly how I knew it would be for Jay, Loeren and the babies from McMinnville to the gym and the Cousin's Camp. The Cousin Camp road trip is fantastic, but I am still waiting for the castle. I hope Rob finds out the truth and nails Loren's and Lar's parents' tanned hides to the shed, Clyde, when he has killed their evil plans. Of course Aido and Carson are having sibling problems, but Loren and Jay will make sure that there is no problem. The beanie babes are so, so cute the way they already have Jay and Loren wrapped around their fingers. Loeren my have been frustrated, but he rallied when Jay got home and took over. The only surprise is that Jay thought that Loeren would have to be "convinced a little more" about being a great parent. None of us had any doubt that Loren would fall in love with the girls fast than he did with Jay. This conversation had me . I can't tell you, @Mrsgnomie how much I love this extra bonus you have given us!!! Thank you so much!

Hi Albert! The orchids you have been posting are awesome. I tried my hand at raising orchids. Here they are easy to grow, but it is much easier and cheaper to just by them fresh.
