Nate being such a hateful person who was capable of raping Clem sure backed down fast. Not knowing what Nate was thinking, it is difficult to imagine why he would turn tail and run like that. I like that Clem stood up to Nate. Clem was richly rewarded for his stand in honor of Ashlee and Sukie. Clem and Ashlee were very hot together in bed. They make a great HEA couple.
I like Madison. She is a very accepting person and probably has a big romantic heart. Rodeos are a lot of fun, but it is also a great setting for some fisticuffs. Nate with his big mouth will probably chip away at Ashlee's patience until he deck Nate. I would imagine that part of Ashlee's self confidence stems from an ability to defend himself. Something he had to learn to do to protect himself growing up. Looking forward to the third date and what follows.
The lasts thoughts Essell has before hearing the noisy thumping concern Timok as a possible traitor. The last makes it seem as if Timok may be the one thumping into the camp. No sure who it is, but with the noise, maybe Bouncer could hear and come running to the rescue. I don't see how Timok could have tracked Essell and Ases, so I wonder who has shown up. The traitors, Garjah, Timok, or....? Nice cliffhanger leaving Essell alone to face the intruder.
The battle to test Bernie was exciting and didn't disappoint by seeming easy. Rodney as Tuath Dé really played up his part! Karhu and Bernie are going to make such a great Papa and Cub pair. This is a great start to the story @Grumpy Bear! I am surprised that you got this started so quickly. Thanks so much.
@kbois isn't evil enough to lynch, but between drinking bottles of booze in the corner, I am using my self imposed exile to order torches, pitchforks, tar and feathers. She has 72 hours to make this right. Of course she won't do that, she already commented that there would be more that one twisted chapter.
True, but Trevor has left and whatever was on the knife makes it impossible for Kage to shift. It is also disintegrating his blood. Is that happening inside him now?👿
Thanks for the hot sex and sweet love making. However, WTH? Why was Trevor there? Where's Huntington? What is keeping Kage from shifting? Did the Boss set up Kage?
And last but definitely not least, why are you sooo great at writing cliffhangers? Is this revenge for all the "Post It" comments? You are one evil lady @kbois. I think I'll steal the gif @Mrsgnomie used in the first comment!
I like that Ashlee is easy going and doesn't make a fuss over small mistakes. The waitress could have been extremely embarrassed, but Ashlee's response was to giggle, then order. He also takes initiative to drive to the farm and see Clem. I see him as a very dominant personality without resorting to macho posing. He is just too comfortable with himself to be bothered by petty things. I like the balance he has established in his life. Clem seems to be a gay guy who isn't stuck on one stereotype of man. He appreciates the differences Ashlee and recognises his strengths. One of the strengths of this tale is how the dialogue is expertly written to bring life to these characters.
Aod and I are doing well. We went for coffee today at an coffee cafe that feature elaborate dessert croissants and sandwiches using Swiss style croissants. I is also an art gallery with mainly abstract oil paintings
I also got the go ahead from my insurance company for the operation on my right eye. I'll call the hospital/doctor to schedule the operation. It could be any time in the next 5 days. I'll keep everyone posted.
Having grown up in the country, moved to the city, then moved to Thailand, I have seen an amazing variety of people who are all over the sexual spectrum. The differences that are rarely an issue in Thailand often lead to violence in the USA. That Clem can find Ashlee sexually desirable is one example of this kind of situation. Ashlee and Clem will probably face many of the same problems as a mixed race heterosexual couple faced 70 years ago (and still face today). Their biggest problem will be in finding a middle ground for their professions. I don't see that as much as a problem. Lockhart, TX is only about a 30 minute drive to Austin. Find the right farm in the right place and they can have the best of both worlds. Their real problem is people like Nate.
Ashlee is a very different type of guy. Competent and confident he is easy to talk to. He understands that Clem is intelligent but not wise to the ways of the city. Ash makes sure to make Clem feel comfortable and ignores small faux pas that Clem makes. I like Ashlee and feel that he is a good man to help Clem explore the life of a gay single man. The way Clem is behaving and thinking about Ash could mean his single status is going to be short.
Seems a lot of comments are about the name Ashlee. Being named Terry (or a boy named Sue) it is not what the guy is named, but who he is as a person that is important. He did not name himself. I also don't like stereotypes. Ash had the courage to approach Clem where the bar twinks dared not because they stereotyped Clem as dangerous. Ash was honest and very forward instead of manipulative and insecure. Whether or not he gets closer to Clem doesn't matter to me at this point, because we know so little about him.
Clem has already shown interest in skinny guys and he definitely wants someone who he can top as well as bottom. Clem wants balance. Clem wants someone who needs him. Whether Ash can fulfill these desires has not been established. Good chapter with excellent comments from all.
I was glad to see that the violent rapist was left cold! No worry about him appearing later in any meaningful way. Clem was as cold as an arctic iceberg. Nate is an idiot and fool if he thinks there is still a chance..
