  1. A simple but beautiful wedding. I am sure they are a very handsome pair standing saying their vows. It was emotional for everyone, but more so for Vincent knowing his parents were watching. It sounds as though they will have some time away from the responsibilities and pressures. A cabin in the Black Forest sounds like a very romantic place for their honeymoon.
  2. A very nice ending with a family reunion and a new generation on the way! I have enjoyed this very much. Thanks for the wonderful stories and the effort you put in to their creation.
  3. Almost there and I have to say I've really enjoyed this series. Alice seems to enjoy an enchanted life. I was surprised that she has already found her true mate. Jon's punishment fits his "crime" and the team will definitely do a great job with the restructuring of packs on the East Coast.

    Ex Post Facto

You got me on so many different twists in this chapter. Dylan being shot, Angus being killed by Rhisi, Alice taking out Rhisi. I didn't see any of that coming. I was disappointed that Angus got off so easily.
  5. The battle seemed to be won and Angus is dead. Rhisi was a big surprise. He is definitely crazy and out for power. He thinks all the death, pain and sorrow can be justified because, "I don't waste life."

    Verdict

Travis and Minerva making eye at each other? It would explain a lot of the connections in this series. I know that there will be bloodshed in the battle to come. Just hope most of it is Angus' blood. I remember so many nice people in the ECP from the first book. Patrick has a lot of connections with these people. It would be nice if those in the ECP who have hated Angus, but remained in the ECP could be organized as an additional force. There are probably some of the Hunters in the building that also do not support Angus. Could Patrick get help on the inside of the building also?
  7. Some really great reveals in this chapter. I have an answer (I think) to the idiot who wanted to know why Alice was in the chamber. Goldie's pack was attacked and the intended target was probably Alice. Being smart, Alice probably got the attackers talking by pretending to be a scared, crying child of no consequence. Of course she had already made sure the camera on her computer was recording the whole thing. She relied on the adults treating her as a child of no consequence just like she did with Goldie's two suitors when it came for her mother to select one of them as a mate. Alice is a prime witness. Again, just a guess on my part, but it fits Alice and Goldie so well.
  8. Another new character to like, Maui. He and his folks are fun and laid back. I hope they get treaties arranged for the Pacific Island pack and the West Coast packs.

    Council Bound

I like the addition of Aaron. He just seems to fit this group.. In fact, he is much like Colt who, if I remember correctly, spied on Quint and Zeke when they had sex. I may have the characters wrong, but the spying on another couple definitely happened.

    Loose Ends

Since I am already hooked on the series, I'm going to slide pass these review chapters. A slightly different POV, but essentially the same information.

    Breadcrumbs

I too missed the flashback message and was surprised to see Gene. I was also surprised at the number of people missing, because it seemed like there were a few dozen in Drums of War. That there are more than 200 was shocking. Of course, we all know who is behind these atrocities. Is there a magical way to make Angus feel all the pain, fear, and suffering of these people and their families over a 5-10 year time as he slowly dies?
  12. Homestead Pride is a series of 5 books that tells a wonderful story about Homestead Pack from its earliest times. These novels are ingenious and entertaining and all worthy of a reader's attention. The books flow easily from one to the next, although books one to three can stand alone. Drums of War however is best read in order, because of the complex relationships of the characters and history of the plot. Homestead Pack has a treaty with the Salt Lake City Pack who has requested help in finding two young missionaries from their pack who have disappeared. Jon, the Alpha of the Homestead Pack, assigns this task to a very strong and experienced team of pack Hunters, but then they disappear also. Dylan and three of his bonded friends who are all pack Enforcers are sent out to find the missing Lycans with the addition of a falcon shifter, Phuong. Using their various powers they set off on a dangerous adventure to find the missing Lycans. These characters are engaging and complex. Their task is dangerous as they face many challenges along the way. The author has a great ability in writing dialogue that is both fun and informative while sounding real. I highly recommend this story, but believe it is appreciated more if read after the first three excellent stories in the series. Happy reading All!

    Home and Gone

Write whatever you want as long as Angus dies an agonizingly slow, painful, gory death.
  14. I will miss Gene. He was one of the best characters in these stories.

    Tribunal Trouble

Interesting trial, but I definitely agreed with the verdict. Phuong just earned herself two husbands. That should stir up things at home. The only problem is whether they can go back with her. They both seem important to their own pack. I wonder if their children would be pegasi.
  16. The solar event was much less traumatic than I anticipated. It seems as though surrounded by family makes a world of difference.
  17. Hi Albert I'm doing well. Reading a lot today and just relaxing. How are you?
  18. Dylan's family got a lot larger much to the shock of Rhisi. Phuong seems to be in line for two husbands, and Aunt Minerva is a kick. Great chapter!

    Sun Camp

I am hoping that Aunt Minerva can help Dylan deal with the upcoming eclipse. Also, that the village and Dylan's team can protect him during the eclipse when his power can be stolen. I am sure that Angus has made sure Dylan is where Angus can find him when the eclipse happens.

    Equis Camp

As much talk about a triad relationship here, so far nothing has come of it. It would be fun if it finally happens. I can easily see Phuong, Marcus and Rhava together. Won't that be a shock for the Alpha of RVF! 🤔

    Heading In

Rhava is being hospitable and friendly, but I agree his brother send off Kai vibs. Phuong's evaluation as well a reaction to Rhava does hold some hope for the rescue team. I am looking forward to the explanation as to why Rhava has so many captives. It does seem that he is interested in some sort of compromise.

I just had to go online to listen to this song...for the hundredth time. And I can understand Dylan's reluctance considering Zeke's endowment.

    Some Bad News

The big mistake was made years ago by leaving Angus alive. He is knowledgeable in magic as evidenced by his first attempt to steal Dylan's magic. He probably well aware that Dylan will be vulnerable to magic again when his is at his strongest power and least able to think during the eclipse. Angus is like a chess player who has his strategy planned several moves in advance. He set up the kidnapping of the SL Pack kids, then went closer to packs close to Homestead Pack and finally to Gene and the hunters sent with him. He knew Jon would have to send his top team and might even expect Jon would ask for the help of the RVF for help. As an Alpha of one of the strongest North American Pack, he probably has the resources to command several falcons who have magical powers. He has set up a trap to once again try to steal Dylan's powers, and possible the powers of Phuong and the rest of the team with the number of magic users Angus has at his disposal. When Angus loses this one, make sure he is dead, please. This is a powerful chapter that got me extremely angry for obvious reasons. Of course I will look silly if Angus is not involved in this, but he is the Prime Suspect.
  24. I am doing fine and still awaiting a date to be set for the eye surgery. Date night was fun. We went out for dinner, then to have drinks at the local pub with some friends. Aloe will help with the shredding. I have a huge plant on my balcony that gets used during the dry season. A lifetime supply of free skin care.

    Heading Out

I really think this group with Phuong covering the skies is an excellent team that will be successful. Phuong adds just the sassiness and power to make them a fun super team. I worry about Gene, since it would take a lot of intelligence and an army to take him out. That is why I think Angus is behind this. I am happy to see that others have never forgotten or forgiven him for all the shit he has done. I wonder if this is a feint on his part to get the packs allied with Homestead Pack diverted elsewhere, while Angus strikes south to take over the territory in Utah and anywhere between his borders and Utah. Good beginning and a great chapter to follow up the cliffhanger from Home to Roost.
