Apparently Gilles and François have restored the complex power and some of the sensors or communication towers. The AI is probably named Charlot.

I will keep my mind open for the twist. I do hate it when a character like Felix, the most alive and vibrant of the characters in this story, loses their corporeal identity and becomes more of a spirit. The character changes and becomes more serious and boring usually.

I agree to what drpaladin said. There are Three Sisters, and they can move apart. The are definitely not planets, because they were stationary for so many centuries. They are not stars, because they can move away from each other rather quickly.

At this point, I think that Fran, Felix and Gilles are going to find out the true nature of the Leopard and how broken he really is.

Jacques is a surprising young man. He is a good actor and is intelligent enough to use his resources limited as they are to his benefit.

King Kris may be the dark day alluded to by the gestalt of the planet. With Gilles dream he could be experiencing the awakening referred to. A very interesting twist to the plot.

Amazing revelations from the past. My only concern is that a world wide herd connected by telepathy would easily find ways to hide. Are there still some Royal Erdbeests alive? It seems that there still may be places on this planet that are not yet explored.

I agree with drpaladin that King Kris probably has hopes to use the technology of the ancients for his own purpose. He is probably envisioning being king of the world.

Interesting meeting with King Kris. Rupe's prolonged stay could easily be the result of the king sending scout to the excavation sites. That may prevent Rupe's release indefinitely.

Ruprecht and Joerg have no knowledge of today's UK. Too bad, because London is on the Thames River. York and Cardiff are also in England. Dublin and Belfast are in Ireland. Edinburgh might be Emborg. I think they forgot the coin with the stars. Stars on maps usually represent capital cities, or major sites. The site they ended up finding sounds like another landing strip for the spaceships. The radiation warning probably means there is an energy source for the complex. I wonder what else they may find. That the men have had their heads ripped off indicates a powerful beast, not humans murdered these men.

The mission to deliver the Empire's message was dangerous. I think Rupe should update the council with the information he got about King Kris' mental state as well as his ambitions. Grossmutta's young fling is a very courageous man. It also explains how Rupe was able to get the appointment.

Knowing King Kris, he won't stop at the border. The new proof of the English colony is promising, but it is close to the border. Rupe and Joerg will have to be more careful in the future this close to King Kris.
