A very good deed led to the surprising reunion of Seth and his father. It promises to finally reveal what happened that made Jim leave, and why he has remained hidden in plain sight. I can't wait to find out if Marie or Julie knows Jim lives in town. There are several cans of worms to be opened in the next chapters. One thing I feel certain about is that Jim is a good man. His neighbor, Edith, thinks very well of him, and he really shows a lot more love and affection than Julie showed in the years Seth was with her.
As for who loves who among the boys, I think it is fun to speculate. However, it is also a futile task. These kids have no idea of the differences between lust, love of a friend, romantic love, and crushing due to their emotional growth being stunted by the drama that surrounds their lives. I thought that Ty might be exempt, but this chapter proves I am wrong.
I look forward to the many conversations and reveals in the next chapters.
