Chapter 23 The Wild Card Effect
Defiance19 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 23 The Wild Card Effect
I would say that Michael and Kendall need to get out of their own way, but they do that in the best way possible. Nothing is left for brooding. Neither is perfect and there are going to be missteps and cobwebs from the past have to be dealt with, but they talk to each other. Worries and concerns get heard and and healed and put away hopefully, making in that much easier to move forward closer and stronger. The plan to move forward with the Chet and Aaron set up is so very funny. Id like to imagine that Aaron was next to Chet during that call. -
That was a hopeful end to the first part of an amazing, well told story. Jim is certainly not the guy we were first introduced to and I'm happy his selflessness did not cost him his life. Kyle and Jim, Tag and the Furballs, Echo, the *good* military guys against the evil Commander and the oncoming threat. Definitely looking forward to what comes next in book 2.

Carlos, I could hug you. I loved this! I loved all of this, and to quote Tommy, "AlI feel is happiness". Being privy to the guys' thoughts, was such a moving, heartfelt experience. I might have teared up. The changing perspectives made me the guest who knew everything, at what is sure to be a memorable wedding, so well done. CJ's toast was perfect and sweet. Doc was a pleasant surprise and I think I like him single..

Yep, what everyone said. Great start, looking forward to more!

There's so much I love about this chapter. The way Barry organizes his thoughts in a *checks and balances* way, in order to work his way through. Barry and Rex' s budding friendship and 'tingling' connection, and by extension snippets of Rex and Joe's life. The extras that give the story such a real feel. The ongoing action surrounding the bar for one. Barry's smart reading choices for another. Lol. It must be so hard for Barry to not think about his boys, and then to have a story trigger worry for Trey. Understandably so, but I felt sad for him. I hope wherever they are they're doing good. Oh, and Bubba's coming home.

You know, Martin planned for a year with Peter to save Casey from Dr. Harris. Peter would be so disappointed now to see that Casey needs saving from Martin. I hope that before Martin catches on, Casey has the chance to tell Shawn more, if not everything about what's going on. Maybe Shawn will see Casey swimming with the pod and that will force the situation. But Shawn needs to know so he can be of help and fast. Great chapter.

That turned out to be a great party. What surprised me about the Rosewoods was that it was Phil who recognized that Neil had to be who he was and he could not change that. Parents, there is always that one time they go way overboard with the punishments. Liam's are no different. But Liam is right, he is old enough where they should listen to him and take his account into consideration. That would stop him from acting impulsively, because he knows what he wants and will do anything to that end. I actually like how Liam is handling himself with Neil, and good for Neil taking a chance. I really really hope that the scouts are impressed with both Ty and Dad as I don't want to see either one hurt.

This chapter was filled with genuine goodness. I've said it before, but I continue to admire CJ and how mature and levelheaded he is. It will serve him well when school comes, so even if he falls into being your typical teenager, no doubt he will land on his feet. One thing I really enjoy about this story is Cesar and Brett's routine bedtime wind down and chats, which is really just a precursor to playtime.. It's a little late, but I hope you had a fantastic birthday!

It was upsetting to learn what happened to the People, but this was a very interesting informative chapter. The Furballs are quiet, so I wonder and worry what's next for them. With the Travelers coming and not knowing their motives I wonder how Kyle and Jim will handle it all and also how it will be having to maybe work with The Commander. Looking forward to the next chapter and will definitely stay tuned for Book 2 and anything else.

Gah! Echo, no! They thought they were going to get help and they are to be the help.. How to create energy? Kyle and Jim are two different components (experience, knowledge and intuit wise), but together will they instinctively know how to use the old technology? More Furballs are dying, will they have enough energy to help? Three days to Friday!

Umm... That was just...wow! Michael and Kendall just always keep it real. Their banter, their silliness is just part of who they are, and it is so organic to their chemistry. I love that Kendall can be honest and raw in his feelings about this huge sudden change. That Michael can tell Kendall what he already knows, and validate his feelings. They keep each other grounded. This chapter was smokin'.

So good I can't even express it, so I'm only going to say, THAT WAS PERFECT!!!! That's all.....

Every chapter is filled with so much action and answers some questions but leaves you with more. This was no exception. Well done. I hope the Furballs can rally in spite of their loss and weakened state. I am curious as to who the voice is, and hope that it means the guys will have help in figuring out the technology and all that it brings...

"I've Really Fucked This Up, Haven't I?"
Defiance19 commented on Robert Rex's story chapter in "I've Really Fucked This Up, Haven't I?"
Silent car treatment, so know what that's like. Glad that Dave and Barry are on the same page now. It is easy to forget to consider the other person in your life when you're used to just taking care of things. They handled that financial divide amazingly well, and Barry gets it and they can move past. Even in the heat of the argument Dave called Barry 'Bulldog'. That, and Dave's inner dialogue had me smiling. These two are great. I'd say Chuck better beware of the Bulldog! -
Great chapter! Corbin is showing bits of his growth and maturity. I have no patience for Pete. Even after the text all he could come up with was 'I don't know'. Corbin's speech with Pete was so heartfelt and honest and so hard for him, but he handled it great. I hope he will be as open with Nick going forward, as I like the way you presented the interaction between those two. This could be something that sneaks up on Corbin without him realizing it, and Corbin will have another choice to make (or not) by the the time the Brit what he wants. Can't wait for what comes next.

Loved this chapter. Happy to see the boys getting to know each other and getting closer in a fun lighthearted way. Now if we could just keep Martin out of the house and busy indefinitely.....
-
Ahh Carlos, that was sneaky. *shakes fist* Good one!

This chapter was pretty effective in showing us that for sure Carson really wants this. His fear of losing what little ground he had gained, totally palpable. Thoughts and actions that have been conditioned for so long, are bound to creep up, leaving everything that's done or said suspect. Michael is awesome. I love how you show the ways these two guys get each other. Michael knew just what to say to Kendall, who was in turn able to be honest ad reassuring with Carson. It's not going to be easy for Kendall or Carson to bridge this gap, but it's great to watch it unfold.

Oh no! Ty's outburst could not have happened at a worst time, but we know Ty has changed so I'm hopeful this little set back will not affect the outcome of his future success. I love the interaction of the high school set. Clarissa is a very wise and insightful girl, and she is good for Neil. With his parents and Liam trying so hard to be a part of his life, Neil is getting really good advice. I like that he is taking it all in and sorting it out on his own terms. I really hope the party goes as well as it can for Liam's sake, because there is no way he and Doug are going to pull this off without getting caught right? Another great chapter...

Man, they don't even really get a chance to settle into the new relationship of the Furballs, or their newly discovered love before BAM! The government arrives. I really hope Jim knows enough about the Planetary Government and that he can use that knowledge to protect Kyle and the Furballs.

Martin is perverse in his cruelty. This makes me depise him, where I was tolerant that maybe he would eventually turn around. Shawn seems to get that he should go easy with Casey even if he doesn't know why. Can't wait for their run ins to be longer and for Casey to have someone trusting he can be with and talk to And Martin is the one who will push the two together. Thank you for another chapter...
-
By the chapter title and the frightening scene to which we are treated, I can maybe guess at what's to come. More frightening for Kyle though and poor Jim who's still out. I am only mildly less terrified because I trust the Furballs.

This was a wonderful chapter. Often times parents don't realise that when they step aside, it allows other people to step in. In Kendall's case he was lucky to have the Aceto family who acted like parents to him, and made him feel loved, accepted and worthy. If not for them and Michael this dinner may not have happened. During the whole 'you call them mom and pop' exchange, I felt for the parents, but then Michael saved the day! I'm glad they are moving toward reconciliation and Carson especially let go of so much. I mean he hugged Michael, What! Huge sigh of relief..... Thank you.

At first, I thought I was going to have to read Danno's party through my fingers, then I didn't know whether to be relieved or disappointed. Curious now as to how it all ties in. I like the way Doc handles Chip. Sometimes when you leave someone quietly it has a bigger effect. Chip was so not worth the trouble as his intent was to give Doc a minute to get over it and then be more careful in getting caught? Not cool, and definitely not worthy of Doc. It's a real shame. Great chapter Carlos.. Also, I couldn't love CJ anymore he's such a good kid.

Chapter 17 Opening a New Deck
Defiance19 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 17 Opening a New Deck
I would say it doesn't get any better than this, but you keep doing it. Glad to be back with Michael and Kendall. Can't wait to see what comes next.
