In a life filled with the routine and expected, sometimes the best things happen when we just take a chance.

Onim, thanks for the kind words....but tomorrow for a new chapter? Don't ya want a little suspense in this tale? Ben and Clayton's relationship was interesting before; neither man acknowledged it to the other as anything other than a casual fling. I'm wondering if Clayton is gonna pick up on Ben's relationship uncertainties just as instinctively? We'll see. But, as you say, Ryan is certainly invested enough at this point with Clayton that even in a wheelchair he'll still kick ass when needed. (Don't ya just love that kind of loving possessiveness?) Thanks for sticking with the tale...and your always gracious comments!

Thanks for the kind words, Skinny! Poor Ben...for a normally sharp attorney, he's seemingly clueless about what's going on, isn't he? Clayton and Ryan, hell, seem to be damn near ready to finish each other's sentences! Thanks for reading and following along with the story--and for your kind comments!
-
Thanks, Parker--your comments mean a lot coming from an accomplished writer like you! I'm thinking at this point that Ryan and Clayton are too far in sync to NOT have a sparkling relationship. As for Ben and Benoit ... well, Ben is (I think) in WAY over his head--and there's too many unknowns about Benoit. We'll see. The thing about all these characters is that I'm trying to develop subtle nuances with all of them. (Yeah, you're gonna hafta read between the lines for their full characters!) It's far too easy for me to use a sledgehammer approach to stamping a character's outline, so I'm trying with this tale to mend my ways! Again--thanks for the kind words, guy! I appreciate it!

Aw, Mike, thanks for the kind words! I think the real issue with Ben/Benoit is who's in charge. Almost sounds like Benoit is out of control, and for whatever reason, Ben can't/won't stop him. Not a good sign. Isn't it remarkable how Ryan and Clayton as both in sync on this stuff? Both insecure--with separate issues--but insecure nonetheless, and yet still willing to risk it to try to make something work? Maybe that's a good sign of things ahead. Thanks for the comments buddy---I really appreciate it!

It IS nice that they're able to talk directly. And no, you won't have long to wait to view the sparks...another chapter will be out next Thursday. THANK YOU for reading and the comments! For whatever reason, this has been a tough story to tell, and the comments/reviews/likes have kept me moving on it. Thank you for that!

We'd only been in the car for a few minutes, and I couldn't stand it any longer; I had to say something. "Benoit, what the fuck was up with you back there? You were a total ass to those guys!" "Ben, I told you I didn't wanna go there, but you insisted. Not my goal to hang out in a gay bar with a bunch of fags." He managed to hit several hot buttons there. 'First of all, I asked before we headed there, and you said ok. Second, Ben is a good man, and a friend, and the other guys there are,

As long as he's gentle with his heart, it'll be a good story! You've got a couple of characters you can flesh out as the story unfolds.... Now, where's that next chapter? (Grin)

Benoit is certainly ... uh, interesting! In fact, kinda scary how many he reminds me of! (Grin) And the new chapter will be out tomorrow morn. Thanks for hanging with the story--and your comments!

I'd started this story back when originally posted, got pulled away from GA, and now back--and caught up with the tale. You've done a phenomenal job with building realistic characters, snappy and believable dialogue (with sly sarcastic humor), and a carefully crafted plot line that's reeled us into it with no mercy. And the solid approach of dealing with the Dom/sub relationship as being safe/sane/consensual is much appreciated. (In fact, Felix is hungry enough for it all that it sometimes seems he's topping from the bottom!) Damn fine writing here--now where's that next chapter? We've gotta find that mole!

Chapter 54 Repercussions
Robert Rex commented on Parker Owens's story chapter in Chapter 54 Repercussions
Damn, damn, DAMN! Just when I thought things were starting to settle into something normal, this stinker from CPS shows up. And I'm really looking forward to the back story on that! Hate it when gifted writers leave us with cliffhangers, eagerly anticipating the next chapter..... -
Damn...you've got a GREAT mystery underway! Viktor has his tentacles everywhere...with money and power intertwined, that's no surprise. But you've introduced the senator's son, and ex-lovers, plus a missing fiancé, so the plot development options are wide open. Throw in a detective who may be a little more involved than first appearance showed (where was his partner?), and you've got an involving tale underway that's sucked us in. An appetizing story you've crafted here...now, where's that next chapter? (Grin)

Damn fine writing here...you portrayed the intensity and mystery of the meeting perfectly! And although I'm playing catch-up on this story, I'm looking forward to being able to advance to the next chapters quickly! Good job!
-
Damn shame they didn't get to enjoy the prom! That's one of those "rites of passage", and they really didn't get the full impact, nor did they really get to gauge more public reaction to being a gay couple there. I'm a little surprised that Devin didn't seem to place a lot of emphasis on the act of Alex being an anal virgin--that's a huge step! Or was he so focused on the fact that it was his first fuck that he got lost in the moment? regardless, it's fine writing, and you've moved the story along to a new level. Good job!

So much happening in this chapter! And the whole baby discussion, plus reconcillation with parents...whew! You've already got me hungry for the next chapter!

Chapter 2 Flood Warnings
Robert Rex commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 2 Flood Warnings
Damn fine job of portraying the mess that Carly is--can you say, "unresolved issues"? Remarkable that Craig's mom recognized what was going on, Carly figured it out, and even Jarod's sister--with only second-hand info--knew what was going on. Obviously Craig was totally caught up in his grief at the time, but when it was said he needed to get his head out of his ass, that was a valid assessment! Craig's got a lot of analysis to do ... and I'm looking forward to the next chapter providing some of that! You've done well on the story here, buddy! -
Mike, you aren't alone in that kind of analyzsis--we ALL do that, "What's he see in him that he didn't see in me" approach. Think that maybe be as much biological competitiveness coming into play as much as our own self-analysis. And loved your "bless his heart" comment about Benoit! In Texas you'd substitute that (in nice company) for "son-of-a-bitch". And, Dave our hot lawman rides in to save the day--again--just this time, it's a social save. And, you'll see more of Dave ahead; I know you're crushing on him! Thanks for the comments, buddy! I appreciate your support!
-
You're right, Gary...Ryan isn't over analyzing it at all--perhaps he's just blown out of the water that all of this is happening at all! Clayton, on the other hand, IS over-analyzing it, letting his own insecurities get to him. Thanks for the kind words! I appreciate you following along!
-
Just ... Wow. Perfectly played through, with Toph's superb analytical skills playedh, he recognizes the emotions belatedly--his and Steve's relationship isn't quite love,
-
It's rather surprising to me, Defiance, how well the previous characters work with the new ones. And yet, isn't that like the friends and acquaintances in our own lives--there's an interplay that works, and most of the time, it's an instinctive thing. Ben and Benoit are ... well, interesting. I look at 'em and wonder who's the lead--if any--in that relationship. The new chapter will be out Thursday morning--you won't have long to wonder about what's going on there. It really wasn't my intention to leave you hanging; the chapter got too long, and had to break it somewhere. THANK YOU for the comments--really appreciate your reading and input!
-
Glad ya liked the chapter, Parker! And it's not such a long wait till Thursday, is it? Ben comes across as a good, solid guy; I think he and Clayton are ok ... or at least he seems to be. Thanks for the comments and for following the story!
-
Nicely done chapter! Jackson's parents seem to be taking a more "hands-on" approach to him, even if it's belated. And Luke's interest seems to be far more than just friendly. Perhaps Luke's mom has figured that out. You've set up a bunch of options for plot lines...looking forward to the next chapter!
-
Such an ominous chapter...head injuries that'll "take care of themselves". Surgery then release just a few days later, using a walker/wheelchair, since they really "can't do anything more". Really sounds like his injuries are far worse than what anyone is willing to admit! I can see some tough times ahead--but hope I'm wrong. A fine chapter here, with a great setup for future plot developments. Good job!

Fun mix of hot, breathless, hurry-so-we-don't-get-caught sex along with life decisions about where do I go to college! Typical teenager stuff. Also gonna be fun to see how the prom goes, both in terms of how they feel about each other as well as the school's respinse to a gay couple. Fine writing here...looking forward to the next chapter!
