    Philip

Thank God, Philip is around--but I'm wondering about the "guilt" Philip is feeling. At one point, he refers to "his part in all this mess". That back story, when filled in, will be enlightening. Tait, on the other hand, is still at the needy stage. It's going to be interesting to see him regain his independant spirit, and get some drive back into his life. I get the impression he's been relatively passive for quite some time, both in his relationship as well as his career. Well done chapter, but lots of questions remaining--now....about that next chapter... <grin> Rex

    fif-teen

Wow! This totally caught me off guard--what I'd assume to be a simple case of a gunshot wound is sounding more and more like a mystery. The police have missed some clues (above and beyond those in the letter), and despite our hero's grief, it sounds as though he's gonna be doing some detective work. The other thing that stands out is the messed up family situation--alcoholic aunt, half-brother/cousin ... and is dad really out of the picture as much as we'd believe? A fine job of moving this tale along, with plety of open-ended questions. Good job!
  3. Fun chapter! It looks like things are moving well for Ezra and Henrik...a nice touch to have a teammate encourage him to move forward in his pursuit of Ezra. And although the day had it's ups (the reunion of our heros) the down part is troublesome (no job). There's a part of Ezra that feels as though he's defined himself by his job--just like most of us tend to do from time to time. The romance may be a distraction, but the job is also a part of who we are, so maybe he'll get a job as the PR or press guy with the team. A nicely done piece of writing, complete with clever asides that had me chuckling ("Invincible", "get your ass cleaned up for him"). You did well here--and I'm ready for the next chapter already! <grin>

    Chapter 4

Nicely done chapter to tie up the loose ends of his initial adventure! Although it was tough, and he'd had no training for that kind of rough experience, Nick was fast thinking, and endured. And, I suspect his taste for action/adventure, once he gets a little distance from it, will be whetted. Nice tie in, by the way, to work Tony back into the picture. Clever approach! You did GREAT on this! Now, on to the next adventure!

    Late December

Quite an interesting Christmas! Gary's being ignored is making Toph feel good, but is it really making an impact on Gary? For some reason, I suspect not. The remaining Christmas was good, though; admittedly, I'd kinda hope he'd make a starring guest appearance at his family's, if nothing else but to clear the air and maybe allow him to quiz his mom on the details of his career move. Steve on the other hand, is gonna prove a challenge for Toph's newly-recognized maturity. Will Toph write off the dance floor kiss as the antics of a drunk, using his maturity to recognize that drunks do things like that? Or will his analytical nature kick in (and I think it has), and he'll allow the relationship with Steve to cool because of the New Year's kisses? We'll see. Another damn cliffhanger.... <grumble, grumble>...but a damn fine writing job regardless!

    Love bites

What a shame that he wouldn't hear him out...although it's easily understood, especially at that age. Perhaps the accidental injury will at least open the door to a discussion. Nicely done...can't wait for the next chapter!

    Chapter 42

Things are moving so very fast...the wedding, the surprise batchelor parties, the house done, his mom moving to the condo....and the surprise cliffhanger. WHEW! I'm exhausted at how much you covered in this chapter! You did a great job on this....now about that next chapter... <grin>
  8. Wow....just....wow. Such a moving wrap-up of some loose ends. Yup, there are still more to tidy up, but this is a moving chapter--Andy gets a new family, and finally understands that people cared about him all along. Even his return to the farm to see his original grandfatherly-type benefactor. Another emotional moment. You got the emotions perfect--and if I mess up on spelling/grammar of the review, it's all your fault, making my eyes tear up like this! Damn fine writing here! And the next few chapters are certain to be as sparkling!

    The Cove

Great start to a story with an interesting premise--a mortal and a god's gay romance. Gonna be fun to watch where you take this. And, going to be fun to get the "back story" on our hero. What was his life like back in America? Had he had gay activities before? Is he out of school, and about to start a life that he can shape? You've got lots of options for this tale, and looking forward to more. Now, that next chapter will be out....when? <grin>
  10. The fireworks were all in place here--and this chapter displayed 'em all! Carly may be down, but it's too early to write her off; she'll be back for more. (The only thing is, Craig needs to hold some ammo in reserve to keep her in her place.) Remarkably, mom took this so much in stride, I've gotta believe she somehow "knew" the real story regarding grandchild, but didn't want to face it, until forced to do so. A fine chapter, now it's gonna be interesting to see how Jared is gonna react to all of this. Now, about that next chapter... <grin>

    Chapter 2

Isn't it remarkable that when faced with a major crisis, so many choose to run? And without thinking through or planning backup options? Casey using his neighbor--and the neighbor's crush--to gain "experience" is rather cold-blooded. Again, he's not thought through what he's doing. A fine chapter--and looking forward to more!

    Long Shot

Damn! I'm enjoying this "casual meeting may turn into more" story. You've done a great job in fleshing out Ezra and the hockey star--and the tension you've built between them already is sizzling! Really looking forward to seeing where you take this tale. GREAT start so far! Now, about that next chapter.... <grin> Rex

    Chapter 3

I'm loving the "husband/husband" detective angle here! Lots of plot options, and plenty of opportunities for action/adventure. Plus, what happens if another opportunity for quick sex comes up during the course of the investigation? What if the investor wants more than just his funds? Really looking forward to seeing where you take this tale. Plenty of fun so far!

    Chapter 1

Gonna be interesting to see how well he integrates into his new surrounding--at least the food is vaguely familiar. And I'm glad that he took the initiative to get out and explore the neighborhood instead of staying inside and brooding. Good job here. Now, about that next chapter .... <grin>
  15. I was honored that only 1 person guessed my story correctly--all the others attributed them to other authors. Since I viewed the contest as a chance to get outside my comfort zone and do a different style/approach, I'm happy--it must have worked! Success by incorrect guesses.... <grin>

    Chapter 1

Glad you're here, and this story is merely wonderful. Love the way you start it here, introducing your characters simply but with detailing that lets us feel like we know 'em. Looking forward to the rest of the tale!

    Chapter 4

The Sunday dinner was a fun exercise in frustration for both parents and Jackson, and the fight in the gym--well, that's just typical high school hijinks. In both instances you've captured the energy and rebellion of youth, but also set Jackson up for an even more strained relationship with his parents as well as more time with Luke. Good job here--you've moved the story along well, and showed the friendship among characters yet still left plenty of plot lines open. Nicely done!

    Story

Thanks, Mike! I was curious/hopeful that you'd find this story--although, since it was published anonomyously, didn't know if you'd recognize the storyline since we'd discussed it! Glad you liked it. This was an experiment for me, using a different format/writing style--but I'm glad you liked the characters. And, yeah, you may see 'em pop-up elsewhere. Thanks for reading/reviewing, buddy!
  19. I'd originally thought this was a joke posting--YIKES! IT"S True! What's the world coming to.....

    Prologue

I'm out of likes, too....such a tough topic to deal with, and you've capture all of our attention with the way you've started this tale! Powerful, efficient writing dealing with overwhelming emotions so well...a hat tip to you! Really looking forward to seeing where this is going! More, more!
  21. LOL! Love your description..."chew his jeans off"! Yup, it's obviously at that point with our guys. Glad you've gotten caught up! A new chapter will be out Thursday. THANK YOU for reading--and commenting!

    Problem Solved?

Think that's one of the things so appealing about men "of a certain age"...the gamesmanship is done. Helps, too, that Ryan is at that same point simply because of his circumstances. Thanks for the continue reading!

    Can We Talk?

I'm glad you're enjoying the tale, Mikie! Things seem to be developing nicely for our heroes. Ben seems to be a decent enough guy...Benoit, well, he's...uh, interesting. Loving that you're plowing through these chapters--thank you!
  24. Ryan definitely has some challenges with the stuff in his head, but he's held it together remarkably well so far. Glad you're enjoying the story--thanks for the review!
  25. Hell yeah--I'd love to have two hot younger men that interested! Barry's quite the complex character. This story is letting me explore and present more of his social side than what was seen as he told his story in "Landfall". He really is a good guy. And, like most folks in a bar, definitely has a "backstory". Glad you're moving forward with the tale! And, thanks for the review!
