Chapter 2 - Just Like High School
Robert Rex commented on Cynus's story chapter in Chapter 2 - Just Like High School
Is Jason lashing out at perceived flirting as an over-compensation for his own frustrated desires? Gonna be fun watching him grow. the other guys are building a relaxed comradearie, and I suspect it'll serve them well in the future. more, more! -
Chapter 1 - Make Us Proud
Robert Rex commented on Cynus's story chapter in Chapter 1 - Make Us Proud
Nicely done chapter, with interesting characters--and most, if no all have secrets they're carrying. It's gonna make for a fun read I your usual finely-crafted style. Definitely gonna be following this one! -
I'm like Buildercub...lots of things going on in this well-done chapter! I, too, would have liked to see more punishment for the officers--and it's interesting that the chief never apologized for his officers' behavior. I suspect this mess isn't over with, and our officers will be returning, and not in a good way. CJ has a busy year ahead. His verbal slap down of the priest/mom/dad had a positive effect within the family. Good stuff there. And that bank manager...well, how much of his offer was based on his desire for protecting the bank's assets versus his own lustful desires? I suspect he'll pop back up in the future, too. Finally, the graveside eulogy was exceedingly well-done; quite moving but not at all maudlin. You did well with that! All in all, a finely crafted chapter. Can't wait for the next!

Superb--but tough--read! I'm a sucker for a happy ending, but your story's intensity will keep me focused. Good job!

Takin has morphed into a strong, resourceful character, who's now a match for Demitri. Quite the change from the first meeting we had with him! youve done a great job fleshing out your characters and blending lots of elements in a complex tales of action and intrigue. now...where's that next chapter? (Grin)

Defiance is right... The"our place" feeling from Nathan was real. I'm wondering if Josh will pick up on that at some point? nicely done chapter...bring on the next!
-
Dr paladin is right....this is gonna be an interesting meeting! And Jason certainly has his work cut out to keep his head on straight through all of this. Thank God for his support system!
-
Fun ending to a fun--and carefully crafted--tale. And loved how a casual encounter turned into a relationship... Kinda like a lot of folks experience in their own lives. You did well here, young man!
-
Nicely done chapter! And, like everyone else, loved the protective students, as suspect mother-in-law of a nasty setup! But, with Simon there, how can she get him out of the house--unless he's in on the plan? And is Darrin plotting with her? what a well done chapter?...now, where's the next one? (Grin)

Chapter 4 - Secret feelings
Robert Rex commented on Avangelion's story chapter in Chapter 4 - Secret feelings
Nothing like wrestling with your sexuality, and the questions it brings! You've done a fine job of portraying his confusion over his feelings. Looking forward to the next chapter! -
Chapter 1 THE JOCK MEETS THE NERD
Robert Rex commented on Tallguyct's story chapter in Chapter 1 THE JOCK MEETS THE NERD
Nice start to what has the potential for an interesting story. Your characters can be easily developed more and made to fit the plot line you've got in mind! Looking forward to the next chapter! -
Nicely done start to the story--you've got some interesting characters, and, as Cannd mentioned, there are all sorts of directions you can take to explain how/why Alex changed. It'd also be interesting to see the responses of those in school around him (his buddy...Josh?) and how they dealt with the bitterness Garrett developed; I'm certain that didn't happen overnight. By the way, you'd mentioned your idea of getting beta-readers (or maybe an editor) as a part of your development of the story. You may not know there there's a section under "forums" for writers, and if you need help with reviews, Gay Authors will help you find someone! (Yeah, it's a GREAT resource!) Check it out if you're still pursuing that. All in all, a good start--I'll be looking forward to seeing where you take this!

There are truly times when insanity is a defense--and Talin has just shown that. In an emotional rage and not thinking, he's not realizing how much is in play here; he's mourning the death of his love and seemingly nothing else matters. Thankfully, Dimitri is there to salvage things. He's staying calm--and I suspect will prove to be the key to resolving the family's involvement in their lives. A fine job; emotionally involving and covering lots of territory. You did well on this--now, we just need the next chpater! <grin>

Nathan definitely has some issues! And Josh had every reason to be pissed. Nathan's certainly single-minded in his pursuit of YouTube fame and fortune, isn't he? And that's not necessarily a good hting. Just hoping that Josh doesn't run across a video that Nathan set up as a "goodbye" before his death--that'd be too damn freaky! Nice done chapter! Looking forward to more!

Chapter 35 King of Clubs
Robert Rex commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 35 King of Clubs
Nicely done chapter! I'm particularily that throughout the ordeal, Kendall keeps emphasizing "decent" behavior; "the right thing to do". I suspect Candy may have had that preached at her, but never really saw or understood it in action. I'm still not convinced this is all over with her, but major progress ahead! Again, good job! -
Gonna be fun to see how the wedding planning meeting with Carol goes. Suspect there's gonna be some not so subtle fireworks there. And, like everyone else, really want Darrin to get put in his place--and I suspect you've got a clever plan to do that, with clues hidden right under our noses! Another fine chapter--and let's get the meeting with Carol done...soon! <grin>

Freshman Year - Chapter 14
Robert Rex commented on oat327's story chapter in Freshman Year - Chapter 14
Loving some of your descriptions--"a colony of Advil" jumps out. You're doing well on this tale...each chapter an adventure, a little more of the characters revealed. Patrick, in particular, is a piece of work, a jumble of contradictions as he tries to figure out who exactly he is. Looking forward to the next chapter! -
Countin' on a Miracle
Robert Rex commented on Carlos Hazday's story chapter in Countin' on a Miracle
Fun chapter! CJ gets laid in a hot and carefully crafted scene--but shows some restraint; no public sex, no anal sex, and concerns about the guy having a GF. But he also was thinking with the little head by going over to a stranger's place. Even though he didn't think it all through, he needed to blow off some steam after the events of the last day(s). Think his dad's handled that discussion well, and it's not gonna interfer with CJ's relationship with them; he'll still continue to be open with them. And the discussion about tattoos/piercings was handled in an adult manner even though CJ is obviously still a minor. Good job on all that! Also loved that he's "Unca" CJ to the kids. Another side showing how his level of responsible behavior has come into play. The "family meeting" is cause for concern; think you're foreshadowing a major blowup ahead--and think it's gonna be just as interesting and fun to read as anything CJ has been involved in before! Can't wait for that! Another fine job in "filling in the blanks" about CJ and his dad's relationship and the care of the guys in the group for all the others as you move this well-crafted tale along. Looking forward to the next chapters! -
Chapter 8 - "Our First Date"
Robert Rex commented on Wade's story chapter in Chapter 8 - "Our First Date"
Damn...can't Gavin get a clue? "Bitter, party of one, your table's ready!" Geez. Glad they've worked past the momentary interruption of dad in the last chapter, and they're both comfortable being out and romantic at the restaurant. Good job going on here--can't wait for the next chapter! -
Thanks for letting us know about this--great that GA is such a community that we care not only about what's written, but those who write it as well! Uploading good thoughts to True....

I also love #8..."Ideas can be equally unhelpful with their timing". So true--or is that just my ADD kicking in? Oh, look ...there's a squirel!"
