Glad you liked the chapter, Gary! Dave just keeps proving over and over that despite his tough lawman image, he's a softy at heart, and his caring for Dave is truly intense. Loved that he didn't demand equal attention--he was truly satisfied "taking care" of Barry! And yeah, Barry's starting to realize just how important Dave is to him; his realization of a hot naked man in the shower and accepting his feeling and acting on 'em was an emotional turning point for him. Glad you found the scene hot--and thanks for the comments!

Aw, thanks Carlos! I suspect you do just fine with sex-in-the-shower scenes all on your own, and have absolutely NO need of a consultant! Glad you commented on the pacing--I really did want to slow the pace down, almost make it seem like a "dream sequence" to Barry; that way, he'd enjoy/appreciate everything going on, and at some point (maybe in another chapter) he'll realize how gentle and caring Dave was. Dave made a point to take things at a careful pace, and his concern for how Barry handled and enjoyed it all showed his feeling perhaps more than anything he could have said. Dave's orchestration of a hair shampoo in the middle of the action showed Dave has an instinctive sense of the rhythms during sex--hot and intense, then slow and intense to build the energy and catch your breath, then back to hot and heavy leading to a finale. Thanks for the compliments, buddy--I appreciate it!

LOL! Glad ya liked the acronym! Think Dave becoming DIC is part of the relationship-building process. Every relationship has a "give and take" component, and it's great to see Dave step up to the plate to take the lead in the building relationship. And, gonna be interesting to see Barry explore himself; lots of men (I think) so lock themselves up emotionally that they never learn the skills to fully learn from life. Think you may be on to something--it may just be shock at the number of things overwhelming him, but may also be Barry is back at the "put it in the box" mode. Regardless there's gonna be a LOT of work on his part to get back to a balanced mode. The therapist should be a big help with all of this, if Barry will just relax and open up.The next couple of chapters will be telling..... Thanks for the comments and for following along!

The emotions ARE overwhelming, and combined with fatigue and drugs from the shooting, no wonder Barry's emotional defenses were down, and he could no longer "box" all those up!I was as much surprised by Dave's emotional response--truly fearful, and somewhat emotionally rambling. Think Lit is right.....Tony's been a victim of his brother--or perhaps his father, since bully behavior can be learned along with homophobia. Perhaps Evan is scared of his own feelings. Regardless, good chapter, lots of interesting directions this plot can go. Bring on the next chapter!

Fun story! Love the interaction between father and son; very real, very relaxed, speaks volumes of a solid relationship. Abe appears to be disarmingly open....but suspect there's far more there that hasn't come out yet. Real depth and emotional character portrayal underway with him. And, how can ya not love Mary Ann? A force of nature, not to be messed with. Good job on an interesting tale. Sorry the next chapter will be the conclusion--ya need to play this one out some more!

Good chapter! You portrayed the locker room language and mentality lots of gay men use when in groups. CJ has made it clear he's got plenty of street smarts, understands (at least at an intellectual level) the interactions, and even turns on the smart-ass comments himself later (paraphrasing here) "You need your butt whipped" "Don't promise me a good time!". CJ isn't threatened by any of this and his dads are close by, monitoring what's going on, and when necessary stepping in to lighten the language and situation. I'm just curious about who's waiting to come on board! Bring on the next chapter!

Yup, Tim....think the important thing is that Barry realizes there some work ahead...and perhaps far more than he'd anticipated. I'm really thinking that dealing with his feelings for Dave is gonna be the easiest of the boxes to deal with.Thanks for the review!

Thanks Carlos!Since so much therapy is based on the patient's self-discovery, I really didn't see the point of going into major description of everything discussed. We'll see the results of his sessions soon enough--in fact, by the end of the chapter, he's "hoping" to "relax". Quite a change from the hesitant guy we first saw sexually with Dave.Only a chapter away from Key West, so make your plans. And yeah, working tonight, should be fun! BTW, after an insane week, catching up on my reading. Just read the latest chapter of your "summer"...but was interrupted so many times, gonna go back and re-read it. Good job on it!

Damn fine storytelling here. You've got everyone cheering for Taylor, hating Nate's Dad, and feeling a combo of hurt for Nate and frustration at his hardheadedness. Helluva combo! Bring that next chapter on! Know you're gonna redeem Nate, but intrigued on how you're gonna do it......
