A truly enjoyable story from the first word to the last word. This story is full of hope, joy, happiness and love, in addition to sadness, abuse, anger, death and abandonment. A single gay man who was disowned and told to get out of his family’s home when he announced that he’s gay, goes on to create a business and a life he’s happy with. He becomes the sanctuary that a boy needs, when he needs it most. This event puts in motion a chain of events that create a truly unique and amazing family filled with everything that each member needs to excel and thrive.

Excellent chapter! A road trip is a great way to build bonds within a family, however, close quarters, fatigue and disagreements can fracture the best laid plans. I’m certain that Pete and Jimmy will set the tone and intervene if and where necessary. I’ve never heard of the kids planning an entire trip on their own before. I am curious to see how this works out. I’m definitely looking forward to the next chapter! 😃❤️

Outstanding chapter! I’m happy that the construction was completed so quickly and that the family has made it home. Paul and the CPS lawyer contesting the adoption was ludicrous and blatantly illegal. Welcome to the family Alex! I’m also very happy for Donnie and Angela dating. Donnie is getting his CPA and we’re going to have to wait to see how this budding relationship develops. I’m glad that Billy and Al have joined in the fostering/adoption process. Excellent chapter! There’s a lot of pain caused by Pete’s intolerable brother and parents, some of which spilled over onto Evie, Don and Donnie who were beyond loving and supportive. It’s very sad that the emotional pain caused by intolerance can spread throughout a family. I’m certain that Pete, Jimmy, Bobby, Butch and Alex never intended to cause Evie any pain and discomfort. Luigi offering the two upper floors of his building to Jimmy and Pete couldn’t have come at a better time. His love and supportive caring for his son and his family goes way beyond the norm. Once the construction is completed and the family moves into their new home, Pete and Jimmy can invite Evie and family to visit. I love this story, the complex characters and the realistic way that they interact with each other. I’m definitely looking forward to the next chapter! 😢❤️

Outstanding chapter! Pete’s parents are a waist of chemicals and water, they clearly have no soul. Evie was horrified by her parents treatment of Pete’s children. Alex tried to get them to be reasonable to no avail and walked out on them. Religious zealots always forget that they’re forbidden to judge others and that they are required to love their neighbors as themselves. Translation: don’t judge others, and love everyone. It amazes me how short sighted these “good” christian people are, they will learn their lesson on their judgement day. I’m definitely looking forward to the next chapter! 🤬❤️

Excellent chapter! Trey and Dion are taking the care necessary to prepare for them to take TJ home once he’s gained more weight and the withdrawal symptoms have abated. This child could have a really difficult time for his early life, but this amazing family will be helping and supporting his growing pains. I sincerely hope that their are not any significant neurological concerns as this child develops. Having Josh, Danny and Brandon surely tips the scale toward a good and healthy life. The excitement of the boys about TJ and his health was truly touching. Everyone that has joined the family has experienced the total transformation of their lives through unconditional love and support through compassion , empathy and integrity. Outstanding chapter! The boys are absolutely loving the tree house, they are spending as much time as possible and really enjoyed their sleep out. Xander is opening up and is starting to voice his feelings and opinions. He’s becoming a fully accepted member of the family. Another baby is coming to the family with Cole and Beth expecting in the spring. I’m looking forward to getting to visit with Shannon and Nick when Josh and Pop fly down to visit for a week. Outstanding chapter! I’m glad that there’s an investigation into the police officers involved with the sex offender, I really hope that they are convicted and incarcerated for a really long time. It’s very nice that when Pete reached out to his sister that she was supportive and invited the family to visit. She clearly told him that his older was wrong. Road trips are always exhausting and you can never be sure what kind of reaction you’re going to get when staying in hotels/motels. Bigotry is very much alive and quite prevalent. Typically the more expensive the hotel/motel the more likely you will encounter bigotry. It’s very sad, but is still happening every day. The reunion between Pete and his sister will be inspiring I believe. I’m definitely looking forward to the next chapter! 😃❤️

Excellent chapter! Butch being harassed buy the landlord at his mothers funeral is just disgusting, I am glad that he laid the bastard out. Pete contacting Texas about an outstanding warrant for being a pedophile led to his conviction and demise. Don’t Mess With Texans! I’m hoping that the police officer providing protection was, fired arrested and convicted also. There’s nothing worse than a cop who facilitates crimes against children. The new family is now free to move forward and live their lives in peace. I love that Luigi is supportive of their relationship and with the community at large. Outstanding chapter! Butch is overwhelmed by his mother’s condition, loss of the family’s apartment, a new school, a new guardian and a new younger brother. In addition he was told goodbye by his mother who said she would watch over him. This is an awful lot of stress for a boy of 13. Pete, Jimmy and Bobby are doing everything that they can to offer love and support during this extremely traumatic time in his life. Jimmy being invited to move in, shows that Pete is committed to the relationship and wants to share this new found family life with him. Pete has already committed to adopting Butch if his mother doesn’t survive. Luigi, Fred, Billy and Al will all support them. I’m definitely looking forward to the next chapter! 😢❤️

Excellent chapter! Pete and Fred were visiting and talking about what it’s like to be a father, Bobby was having lunch with Jimmy at Luigi’s restaurant. Jimmy turned up at Pete and Bobby’s home with Butch a homeless teenager asking them to allow Butch to stay while his mother is in the hospital. They agreed and a relationship between Pete and Jimmy has begun. Butch is afraid that his mother won’t survive, Pete, Jimmy and Bobby are doing everything that they can to help. The priest at their church is bewildered by the second boy until he’s given the full picture. I’m afraid that Butch will be a permanent addition to this amazing family. I know Bobby will be able to comfort and support his new brother since he has already been through his own losses. I still am loving this story, and I am definitely looking forward to the next chapter! 😢❤️

Outstanding chapter! This new family is now officially sanctioned by the court granting the adoption and Bobby taking Pete’s last name. The celebration at Luigi’s restaurant with the entire family and staff was truly amazing. Bobby has taken it upon himself to set his dad up with his friend Jimmy. Pete has come to the realization that he’s interested in Jimmy who is also interested in him. Bobby and Jimmy have been working together to make Pete notice Jimmy. We’ll get to see how successful they are in future chapters. I’m definitely looking forward to the next chapter! 😃❤️

Excellent chapter! I was a bit concerned with Pete going to work and leaving Bobby home alone. He fortunately let Andy the doorman know that Bobby would be alone. Once he finished for the day he’s concerned when he doesn’t find Bobby right away, he found him asleep in Petes bed saying that he missed him. Pete decides to bring Bobby to work with him rather than leave him alone at home. Since Pete is the owner no one will argue if he brings his son to work with him. I am glad of this decision since a 9 year old boy no matter how mature is just too young to be left home alone. I’m definitely looking forward to the next chapter! 😃❤️

Outstanding chapter! The new family is coming together to work in the church’s soup kitchen offering hot meals to homeless and in need people. This is an excellent opportunity for Bobby to learn about service to others while making friends and boosting his fragile self esteem. When all you have been told is that you are worthless eventually you believe it. Thankfully his mother instilled her beliefs and morals before her death, so there is a strong foundation upon which to build back his belief in himself and his pride in what he is capable of doing. Excellent chapter! Pete and Bobby are bonding and with his circle of friends, now uncle’s a family is developing that includes service to others and feeding the ducks. Pete has managed to create a pretty well balanced life for Bobby, he will absolutely need to feed Bobby more than pizza and burgers. It’s still very early in this relationship but nutrition is always important despite the fact that kids hate anything good for them. I really am enjoying this story and the characters you’ve created, each of them has depth, history and is likeable in their own way! Thank you for this amazing story! Outstanding chapter! Pete is proceeding as though Bobby will become his son. Bobby is acting like Pete is already his Dad. Fred knows how to handle this situation and I’m certain that everyone will be happy together. Bobby is overwhelmed by the generosity of Pete with new clothing and a laptop computer of his own. Pete’s circle of friends seem supportive and caring. Thankfully since Fred is a Lawyer which will hopefully keep Child Services and their bureaucratic processes at bay. Excellent chapter! Bobby does the right and honorable thing by returning the crackers to Mr. Atwood. Pete asks Bobby if he wants a cup of hot chocolate knowing that there’s more to this child being outside in record cold temperatures with out the proper clothing. Bobby tells him that his father threw him away because he’s worthless. Pete lets the boy stay and is horrified that anyone can do such a cruel thing. Being gay and having a young boy in his home could lead to many problems he doesn’t need, however he does the noble and honorable thing by inviting Bobby to stay. It’s ashamed that there are so few people who will help a child in need these days, everyone is so wrapped up in their own lives that they just assume someone else will assist them. The way that the younger boys have accepted and encouraged Xander by telling him that they know about his problem and they don’t care shows how well this incredible family has taught them about empathy, love and support in a “Me First’ world is a tribute to Josh and all of the family members who have dedicated their lives to service to others who are in need. I am glad that Pop and the older boy’s were able to install the new slides in time for the sleep out. I wish that these types of homes, run by good caring people could be operated in every state to show kids what their lives should be. There are enough Billionaires and Millionaires to be able to fund them. Sadly they won’t because there’s no return on investment. Richard arrives with news about a young boy who suffers from pediatric incontinence causing the poor boy major embarrassment, mistreatment and teasing for a condition that he cannot control. The fact that his foster parents added more abuse while withholding medical attention and undergarments which would surely have helped his situation is absolutely disgusting. Far too many foster “parents” are only involved for the state payments. Xander will probably excel in this family filled with love, support, empathy and plenty of other boys to interact with under the care of Danny and Brandon. The baby, T.J. will also join the family under the care of Trey and Dion. I’m excited for the newest family members to arrive. I’m definitely looking forward to the next chapter! 😃❤️

Excellent chapter! The visit with Frankie and Carolyn went extremely well and Josh really got a chance to get to know his future daughter-in-law better. They seem to have a very good plan in place for their wedding and have a decision on how many and what sex children they want. Josh was extremely touched by Frankie asking him to be his best man and his reasons for his decision. Once Josh finished his visit he returned home and was warmly greeted by his grandsons who were bubbling over while retelling their vacation stories. They then dragged him outside to see the restored tree house and new deck which the younger boys are ecstatic about. A call from Richard wanting to speak with everyone after Danny gets home, I wonder how many he’s looking to place? Cole invited Josh and Pop over for dinner, so everyone is wondering what’s on his mind? Every member of the family knows that love and family are what makes them happy and they will always help children who are in need. Thanks Bill for another great chapter! Outstanding chapter! The Texas travelers have returned home and are greeted warmly by their family and especially by their puppies who missed them terribly. Dogs unfortunately have no concept of the passage of time. The younger boy’s are extremely excited about the rebuilt tree house and new deck. The older boy’s are a little bit jealous that they didn’t have the opportunity to enjoy the tree house while they were younger. The spouses left behind were very happy to have their husbands home. They’ve been enjoying some quality adult time. Everyone is looking forward to Grandpa’s return the next day. I’m definitely looking forward to the next chapter! 😃❤️

Excellent chapter! Nice to visit with Frankie and his fiancé Carolyn, Josh is happy that Frankie proposed and Carolyn said yes, with their wedding scheduled for the following year. There’s going to be a busy summer of weddings coming up, the first in May for Ricky and then Frankie in July. Frankie being promoted to detective in the state police means that he’s doing very well in his career and with his upcoming wedding his life is definitely looking happy and content. I’m definitely looking forward to the next chapter! 😃❤️
