I thought Caroline would try to take advantage of this favor and squeeze George for as much as she could get. She didn't disappoint me. She overestimated her position.
Cavendish and Daventry gave him good advice about letting her have the jewelry. It's the key to a woman's heart.
At least it will make this charade more tolerable.
The pactrids are an intelligent, bipedal species similar to elephants. I'm sure propaganda has stylized them as savage beasts with a bloodlust. Yet, as we've seen, their attacks are only retaliatory. There haven't been any moves on human population centers and all the humans killed have been soldiers. There seem to be some rules in place, at least on their side.
I went to a dermatologist many years ago. He was a very nice man. He was actually Haley Joel Osment's grandfather, though this was long before The Sixth Sense.
There is little more terrifying or disruptive for troops at the front lines suddenly thrown back into battle while headed for the safety of home.
Callum already has his doubts over the reasons and rightness of this seemingly endless wa r. From the words of the prisoner he related his stock narrative of 'you took our land,' there is much more to the story. Now he's captured, Cullum is about to see the counter argument first hand. Hopefully the pactrids aren't as brutal as their human counterparts.
Now Marco can fulfill his compulsion to serve Greg.
Although they hadn't planned announcing any changes, the ones brought up generated a lot of interest and support.
How do they watch all those football games not to mention have a selection of movies? You can't get so many games without some kind of subscription.
I think you really need the EAM.
Fixers or 'complainologists' come in different flavors.
Fixer #1 mollifies by talking about it, either by sympathizing or providing excuses. They can also put out a spiel so confusing and convoluted the complainer forgets why they were complaining.
Fixer #2 uses cash or free stuff to smooth things over.
Fixer #3 uses physical force or the threat of it.
They already pay for TV.
You don't HAVE to pay to get channels. There are still free streaming sites and OTA, not to forget DVDs.

BTW
Would you be interested in a used Ronco Excuse-A-Matic? They're quite rare.
I usually have a news feed on in the background or watch old TV shows, old movies, and Masterpiece Theater. When cable first came here it was $12 a month, now it's absurd.
Sometimes people are just strange by our standards.
There are some folks I visit now and then. A couple of times they were watching TV and it's a 20 inch flat-screen. The TV I had in my bedroom as a boy in the early '60's was bigger. They aren't poor or stingy either. Two new Mercedes are in their garage. I've never asked them why.
