  1. Well said, James. You speak as one having authority. See Matthew 7:29
  2. Chapter 43 was great, Andy. Despite the unpleasantness from the very sour uncle Ray, everyone else enjoyed their day. Include me in that number. I am interested in the fact that Peter no longer seems so awed by wealth. I trust that is a good sign. Do we find out later what is in Pop's will for Jason?

  4. I really love chapter 20. Who cares if it's actually part of chapter 19? I like the way Luc is now relating to Matt. I only hope Matt comes to feel the same way about Luc. I hope the devils that are haunting Matt are soon driven away. Thanks again, Duncan, for a great story.

  6. Yay! Chapter 20 is here. Makes up for all the problems formatting yesterday.
  7. Welcome back to the world of the working stiff, James.

  10. The boss walked into the office one morning not knowing his zipper was down and his fly area wide open. His assistant walked up to him and said, 'This morning when you left your house, did you close your garage door?' The boss told her he knew he'd closed the garage door, and walked into his office puzzled by the question. Ashe finished his paperwork, he suddenly noticed his fly was open, and zipped it up. He then understood his assistant's question about his 'garage door.' He headed out for a cup of coffee and paused by her desk to ask, 'When my garage door was open, did you see my Hummer parked in there?' She smiled and said, 'No, I didn't. All I saw was an old mini van with two flat tires.
  11. Hey! You're making it too easy now. The die-hard fans of the story will find a way. You really deflated my ego.
  12. So you did. Sorry, I had not read the review; I was too busy finding a way to read the chapter.
  13. I really like chapter 12, John. We learn a lot about Mich's past and what really haunts him. Fortunately, Coop is accepting. But then at the very end of the chapter, we realize that Coop also has a past. Thanks for the great story. Please keep us busy reading.

  15. Duncan has given us another great chapter. It's obvious to me that the characters are still being developed. In particular, I think there is a lot we still do not know about Matt. He seems to have really been moved by the speech they all heard at the vigil. Duncan's writing style really gets my attention. His wording is very descriptive...as are all great novels. His descriptions are almost poetic. An example from this chapter: Thanks Duncan.
  16. If you copy the chapter and paste it to a word processor document, it converts it to a readable form. I will read it now.
  17. Chapter 19 is there now, but with a big formatting problem.
  18. Sigh! I know...it is frustrating. I will wait...perhaps not patiently...but I will wait.
  19. Hang in there, Andy. I hope that wherever you live when you turn 65 is like Tennessee. I never have to go to DMV again the rest of my life. They send me a renewal notice once every five years and when I pay online (or mail in a check), they send me my new license with my old picture on it. No eye exam, no take a number, take a seat, no waiting at all. And, judging by my drivers license picture, I will never get any older.

  21. This just goes to show you that a lot of publicity and a gimmick can bring you fame. You don't even have to be able to sing. But you do have to get your hair cut.
  22. All is not well in your kingdom by the sea.
  23. Really enjoyed chapter 42, Andy. Jason and Peter continue to have disagreements over money. I'm wondering if they will ever work that out. Because of their very different upbringings, they have different tastes and different values when it comes to spending. I'm hoping they will work through that and reach a common ground that they are both happy with.
  24. I'm not sure what it is about law schools. It seems every university wants one. It's like there was a shortage of lawyers or something. I know one young man who was in the first graduating class of a New England state university's law school. He was never able to pass the bar exam; is now the manager of a Walmart store, which is actually a pretty good job.
