  1. Get well soon, Bubba Goat! Here is some advice from a veterinarian:
  2. Ditto for Memphis in the 1940s and 1950s. The world was a lot safer then (except for the foreign wars, of course). Bicycle helmets had not been invented nor had anyone started lobbying the state legislature to require them. I guess things were not only safer; they were simpler. We always played in the street...there were very few cars and lots of room there. The streets were well lighted so we could play until long after dark. The only limitation was to remain close enough to home to hear your name when it was called. The one thing you never wanted to hear was your middle name.
  3. What happened to Peter should get any parent's attention. His mother is Jason's hero. Andy, thanks for sharing the personal experience which was your inspiration for this chapter. You continue to raise the bar on what we expect from your excellent writing.
  4. Happy Birthday, Matt!
  5. Happy Birthday, Lacey!
  6. Oops! You are correct. I think Belovèd has been posted so slowly that I lost track of where the story started. Yeah, that's it. I can blame Don. Belovèd is a great story. I'll stick with that.
  7. Hey! Someone agrees with me. How cool is that? I should point out for those unfamiliar with Don Hanratty's work, that Belovèd is a sequel to the Working It Out trilogy. You really should read from the beginning to fully understand the relationship of the two main characters, Cameron and Kevin.
  8. I don't know why Hosted Author Don Hanratty has no discussion forum for his stories, but everyone should know that he has just published Chapter 48 of Belovèd. If you have not been reading his stories, you are missing a real treat.
  9. Happy Birthday, Krista!
  10. You have gotten yourselves into one of the most remarkable things that can ever happen to a person...parenthood. Some may not agree, but they are a distinct minority. My hearty congratulations in advance. It's good that same sex couples have the same parenting instincts that we "breeders" have. It will bring you joy the rest of your life.
  11. Thanks for your comments, CJ. I guess some of our current readers will have very similar reflections in 40 years or so. Some things never change.
  12. I'm glad you aren't giving up. Being a dad is awesome. I can think of only one thing that is better...being a granddad. I think 2011 will be a great year for you.
  13. Hi, Jack!
  14. A touching chapter and very well done, Andy. I trust Peter will survive. I think Mr. Lee has given Jason some very good advice about a man making his own decisions, following his own heart. Mike
  15. More power to you, West. I don't do New Year's resolutions. There's always something better to do and I just don't know it yet.

    Chapter 10

Finally. Cooper and Michael speak the truth to each other. Where will it lead them? If they are going to tell others, they already have an audience. Great chapter, John.
  17. Thanks, Joey.
  18. Excellent story, Kevin. The ending is quite a surprise...leaves a lot to the imagination.
  19. Great chapter 24, Andy...very well written and edited. Here's hoping that Peter is not too seriously injured and that they will be able to pull together to beat Jason's mother at her own game.
  20. I thinking your cop friend doesn't know what it's like to have sex with a real man. It's your call on whether you want ot be his "mentor". Hmmm..."Chase the mentor". Hmmm...
  21. Welcome back, Wen. I missed you. Hope you have a Merry Christmas and the greatest new year aver.
  22. Andy, I am continuing to read Second Shot as you post new chapters. This has become one of my favorites and I thank you for giving us a great story. Mike
  23. To all my friends at GA:
