This looks very interesting. It has been years since I pickled anything, but I still have lots of jars in the basement.

You ramped up my adrenaline and stress level right away. Your writing is far too good. This is a good thing, as I then experienced some relief later on. You also bring us all into the long slow realization of the tough road ahead for Brad, and the love of the people behind him who will be with him every step of the way. A tough chapter, very well written.

Corbin has got several parallel lives going all at once: the farmer, the barista, and the respected Family man. All for the poor guy who just wanted to disappear in Idaho. I can't imagine Luca's Family not standing out like truckload of sore thumbs out there in Hailey. The next phone call to Harris should be about sorting that one out. And Harris' team is clearly compromised. He could use that information to mislead Stefano, leading him into a trap, even - but perhaps Stefano is too astute to be fooled or lured. Next chapter, please?

What a meeting! Taking a turn about the garden with Death. And then? Oh, let me take Death to dinner with my brother and his Cupid. Oh, boy, you have my imagination working overtime. This is a splendid story, and I am enjoying each and every line. Thank you! -
Kevin reveals to us what he really wants and what he’s never really had: a man who wants him for who he is, as he is, and without having to hide it all. It’s painful, all the hiding you detail in this chapter. There is layer upon layer of costume and mask and paint, hiding Kevin as he really is. And that hiding means he lives with things blowing up and crashing down, time after time. Kissing Aaron in front of Duncan – will there be another shattering? And who will pick up his pieces again? Not Carver, and probably not Aaron, either. You are weaving a melancholy tale, but one which keeps calling out to me. I hope you will have more for us soon.
