  1. The first poem’s reference to a Cold War made a lot of sense to me. About your second poem: You are no slug. I know a lot about slugs. Yet what you wrote struck a chord with me. You are who you are, and you are loved for that.
  2. What a wonderful chapter. You make the last part believable by building up the experience of the their time back together. They enjoy each other’s company and conversation. Noah, ever reticent, can’t interrupt the good times long enough to tell Jordan his own news until the last moment. You brought in Jordan’s mom as a kind of moderating character, and that came off excellently. You did very well to keep us hanging for so long - and thank you for not making us wait for another chapter. Great work!

    GMA VIII

Wished I could have seen that segment of the show. But then, you brought it to us in vivid color and sound. Once again, I can see and hear each person, each character. And in today’s increasingly insane political climate, we need voices like these speaking to the world. Thanks especially for mentioning the Trevor Project, which is near to my heart. Great chapter!
  4. Good morning! Squirrels chasing each other over the snow outside my window. Ohhhhh, it’s getting to be that season, which means spring is inching ever closer...
  5. So something came to me in a dream last night. Now can it be made into a readable story? Hmmmm.

I loved reading your Tanka. The third was my favorite - not because you fell in the cold mud, but because I could hear and feel more of your experience there. Wonderful.
  7. Just finished watching a sappy movie. Good night everyone.
  8. Sounds perfect. I may open a bottle myself...
  9. I’m sorry you’re undergoing a siege similar to ours, only worse. Hope you’re warm and safe now.
  10. I’m not really a veteran. I agree that I like the chance to write something outside my comfortable space, or to try something new. @Valkyrie is right. One should just try it and see where one is taken.
  11. Okay, I’m officially scared by this one...
  12. Hello again. Hope you are all having a good afternoon. The sun came out here for almost seventy minutes...
  13. The baggage section has quintupled.... This line resonates especially with me. Your reflection on what we carry, and how much, makes a powerful statement. Can these things slide away, and allow us to travel the remaining road without their weight on our shoulders? Your hope is mine, too.
  14. Good morning, everyone. I’m grateful for all of you today.
  15. You bring the afterlife into bright relief. It’s almost the beginning of a joke: two guardian angels walk into a bar... Does Diego have a thing for Death? Or Death for him? I can’t even imagine how that would work. Great chapter.
  16. Maybe that means there will be a summer with fewer fires.
  17. Nice and warm in my green wing chair. I can see the woods from here. We usually get 90 inches in a moderate year...
  18. I’ve got snow, I’ve got ice, neither thing is very nice...
  19. And mine. Thank you for being on our respective wavelengths, Mac.
  20. I’m okay. A very quiet kind of day. It’s snowing out, as usual.

    Summer Night

I’m not sure it’s so strange. It is funny how things I wrote years ago speak differently to me now.
