This poem vividly brings to the mind the experience, the moment and the release. You open the eyes of the reader.

    Requiem

This poem captures images so perfectly. - I can see the waters, the flags snapping in a fresh, crisp breeze, bare trees - your drought clearly led to a beautifully blossomed rainfall.
  3. You make me blush, you are that kind. I find myself drawn to the science and math poems, too. It is indeed the fun of getting at the kernel of meaning that makes these worthwhile to write. Thanks for reading these!
  4. Thank you, tim. I am glad these spoke to you and that you enjoyed them. xo
  5. You caught me in my punctuation subtlety. Thanks for that. I am glad you liked the rapid-fire images laid down in Free Verse; I also liked ‘anxious gardens.’ There is much to chew on, surely. Thanks for responding to a challenging poem.
  6. Your words are very generous, and I am very grateful. I felt the desire to break with the structures of form in Free Verse, and I’m glad that came through. And your observation on Walk is spot on.
  7. Thanks very much, Moggy. Your words are very encouraging. I shall make sure there are good trails to follow in the woods and fields.
  8. Thank you for taking the challenge of Free Verse. Walk, by comparison is a tamer poem. You’re right that Free Verse is kind of rich in images; they tumbled out too fast for form. I’ll be interested in any further observations....
  9. Thank you, AC! Sunshine for my afternoon it was!
  10. Life at home is muddled. My biggest question is whether Don really will make a believable statement of support. The scenes with Alex at dinner and afterwards were very entertaining. Nice chapter!
  11. Free Verse Free verse? Well, I've seen that, as free as any Spaniel or lap cat, free to walk in wooded weeping or explore anxious gardens, digging or leaping, past boundary fences designed for prose-bound creatures on mental leashes. Free verse? What's that, you ask? As hard-toil won as any other task, and paid for by illuminated experience, observations not found in Facebook, haggling or bartering for each shiny new episode wrapped in life's plastic film

    Chapter 11

I wonder a lot of things. Will Allen ever choose Joey over death? Was his fall on the stairs accidental or self inflicted? And will Gene ever get over the shock of finding Joey in his house in the middle of the night? Looking forward to answers...

    Bonds

I agree completely with Moggy. The pair of these are visceral and intense together. The pain in which to hide is a fantastic metaphor to consider. And the release and cuddling at the end releases the reader, too. Beautiful.
  14. This story and its theme inspired me to think and reconsider what I wanted to write. Worth every moment you take to read it, and to re-read it.

  15. Here is as wonderful and well worked a fairy tale as one could wish for. It’s a story told with grace and wit and Mikiesboy’s inimitable deftness.

  16. What a great way to start the week! This is a wonderful story, and @AC Benus describes its charms perfectly.
  17. It is so easy to reduce the prosaic pencil to something like a valueless commodity. Yet we seem to know better. Thank you for your wonderful comments! Sturdy, undemanding, simple yellow pencil, ready always to take thought to paper; steward of ten thousand imaginings, happily solved problems, and secrets of my heart.

    4-2 - Direction

Interesting developments. Ethan thinks a seance could be useful; I’d love to know how The Ruler takes that idea. But it is so sad that Ethan’s parents want him to leave home...because they love him? Pfffffft. Great chapter!
  19. I’m glad you liked this, even more glad that you will remember it. Each small thing has its place and value; even if broken or torn. We can make great things from such items as others forsake. Many thanks for reading this, and for your comments.
  20. Yes: everything has value and worth, even broken pencils. And if I keep a drawer full of them (and I do) then how much more might we be when we feel broken, too? Thank you for reading and responding to this.
  21. These are wonderful - your ode to sarcasm and other rhetorical devices is apt, as is the appeal to humor. Your lovely poem about faith and its sources reminds me to look for them, instead reasons to be acerb...beautiful.
  22. You have my thinking exactly. Sometimes cleaning up at the end of study halls can be a little trying to look at what young minds throw away. How important it is to grow out of that. I am glad you like this one; thank you for reading and commenting.
  23. I am glad you liked this. It speaks to my heart that everything and everyone has value and worth. We should take care to avoid breaking things, and people, too. Many thanks for reading!
  24. Thank you Dugh. No, the little yellow stylus is not as simple a thing as one might assume.
  25. So much that is right with this chapter I had to read it in pieces. I congratulate you on deftly bringing plot lines together and tying them up believably and beautifully. Thanks for wonderful and memorable story.
