    Flirtation

One glance, a smile, perchance, a joke, a wink, a touch, questions with unspoken meaning linger; night thoughts do the work of sweet seduction, truth and wish compounded of flammable craving.
  2. Everyone should start the new year off this well.

    Chapter 21

Despite Sergei's ugly words, this was a beautiful chapter. Alek showed he had already made the right choices, and Liam believed him. Such a sweet conclusion to what began as a tale with many unhappy possibilities. Wonderful.

    June 2016

You pulled a whole lot of threads together, and did it artfully. How CJ managed to accept the massage and still placate Ozzie shows that he has a career in the diplomatic corps ahead of him. It's sad to see this era in CJ's life wind down, but I can't help thinking he and the thousands of his contemporaries have only begun to make their marks.

    Love

Number 4 is a standout. Really like the time progression and taut imagery in it. Well done!

Cinquains, like Haiku, require economy. That's the fun part. The frustration is not being able to use a favorite word in the spot you want. I'm this one worked out.

Dancing, falling, passion - yes, lots of motion. And you are right that this was meant to make a hundred quick images flash through the mind. Thank you.

It's meant to be a short series, but flavorful.

Something nice for a warm summer day?
  11. Awesome poem, Mac. The second and fourth stanzas are most punchy and affecting; almost meta-rhythmic. Yet it is the third stanza which sets up the fourth; you do it very well. It is often in one's limits and frustrations that one is recognized at last.

You have it exactly right. And yes, it is um, zesty, isn't it?

The bar swirls with dancers, each hotter than the next; I want to shout: hey, look my way, choose me. You called me crazy to fall into your embrace; yet you were the greater fool to choose me. Harder, deeper inside, unhinge me, unsense me, borne on pleasure's pulse because you chose me.

    Spice Rack

A short series of salty, savory cinquains for summer.

    Suicide

Your poem is a deep and chilling insight into your hurt and darkness. It helps me understand more about what you are fighting. But know that you do not battle alone. Remember that the flames of love, both small and great, are there, lighting and warming.

    Slaying Dragons

I love the gentle rhythm which belies the violence done to your beloved. A hauntingly beautiful poem.
  20. Thank you, tim. Glad you liked it.
  21. Such varied yet thematic pieces. I love Something Lost, as it corresponds closely to my thinking. Delusion and Pen engaged me, especially the bit about what fertile minds do. We roam constantly, it seems. But Nostalgia is both the best and most challenging of all. Those we love and lose leave parts of themselves behind, stones built into the walls of our own houses. Beautiful, Gary.

You speak for me, tim. You say the words my heart repeats, and stand with you.
  23. Stage managing st the music festival again tonight. Tonight's program... EJ Moeran, Fantasy Quartet; Faure, Apres in reve; Schumann, Fantasiestucke; Chausson, Piano Trio Just starting now...
  24. Thank you, Emi. I can see joy and sorrow in this. I hope for the day when the fear and pain fade away.
  25. Dugh, thank you. That there are those who must hide for fear of their lives or livelihoods compels me to speak. You're right. I find it terribly sad.
