    Two Rubayats

I am very glad you decided to explore today. I think a preference for structure is personal...I'm still exploring structures, and find the helpful in distilling a thought or idea. I am happy you connected with Catbird, as the bird itself is a favorite of mine. Much less flashy or forward than a jackdaw. Thank you for your kind comments!

I am so happy you liked Catbird. I think sometimes we are all Catbirds, in one way or another. Or maybe it's just me, and I'm projecting...but you're absolutely right. In any case, Catbirds are of my favorite wild birds, so shy and retiring when they know you are looking at them...and they'll try to imitate anything.

Thank you, Gary. You had this pegged exactly. Glad you liked it and that you will remember that noisy grey chameleon. And all inspired by a bird buried in a honeysuckle hedge on Saturday morning...
  4. Catbird The catbird deep within his shroud of leaves and branches sings so loud; you cannot spot him, though you try, with camouflage he's well-endowed. The catbird has a mimic's cry, he will not on himself rely, but imitate another's song, in pretense of some other guy. His squawks and gracks and whistles strong will not convince a Robin long; he tries to be someone he ain't perhaps he thinks he won't belong. The Catbird sings without restraint, until he's spotted, then he's faint; for
  5. This more than worked for me. It is magical and marvelous and compelling. Your characterizations spring off the page, and Behman's voice still echoes in my head. This is one of your best, Tim, I love it!
  6. TLC, huh? Gotta love new translations...but the tenderness, intimacy and happiness creeping, serving and flooding into both Peter and Patrick's lives is so good, that everything you write illustrates that. Thank you for another happy, sensuous chapter.
  7. My dear Adi, I cannot tell you how much your kind words mean to me. I know that the tale was long and difficult. It is very heartening to know you thought the story was worth the effort to read and digest. That you want to re-read A to Z is a great gift to me, and I thank you.

    A to Z

You were very kind to leave this message. Believe me, whatever note you leave for an author will make hid or her day, just as you have brightened mine. That you should have re-read A to Z makes all the time spent writing worthwhile, and I am so glad you have enjoyed the story so much. That you view the story as a gift is a perfect statement...I am happy to have given it to you. Thanks again.

    Chapter 1

I am so very glad you enjoyed it...I confess I like happy endings, too!
  10. Erik is beginning to show his true colors here...when will Twoey see through this romanticism and see it as control? Alex will have to seriously screw up before clueless David figures out she's not the one he wants though. Vlad and Derek are not going to tell him. David did some research into Cicero, and that was fun. But does the implication send even a little chill down his spine? Nice of Chuck to spend a lunch with David. Now if only Twoey would pick up the phone......the next chapter is coming out this afternoon, right? Right?
  11. And I have been the beneficiary of your encouragement and support. Thank you for your kind reviews, comments and help with prompts. I am looking forward to 2017!

Kindness upon kindness, and all undeserving. The 'Come, love' would not let me rest. It was only when fire burned and rain fell that it could let me be. Now is the month of maying....

    Chapter 10

Several things strike home in this chapter. Luke doesn't need Jackson, not at all...but he likes him anyway, despite himself. Jackson seems to realize he's been missing something with Luke. Even more startling must be the new understanding that stupid pranks might just turn out to be...really stupid; that his view of all his 'harmless' fun may not be especially accurate. Then there is the thought that someone still has faith and trust in him, in spite of all the utterly convincing and compelling evidence to the contrary. If Jackson actually pays attention to this slew of self revelations (admittedly a big if), he might actually turn into a worthwhile semi-adult worth befriending. What a thought.
  14. What a gift you have; but what about Eustace Whitley? Witch Hazel perhaps? Something old fashioned, no doubt.
  15. Definitely...thanks so much for making the link! Liked this a lot!

    Chapter 2

I am enjoying this story more and more. And I know that people can and do change, but one's previous experience does not always make that easy on anyone. Surely Pierre will have moved on, but the hurt will always be there. For Corey, any reunion will be dangerous, especially if the callous Zach continues to fritter away the relationship they have....excellent and captivating! And I want more, yes?

    Early March

Toph is growing by leaps and bounds. And if he ever decides to completely dismantle his fences, then his year will have been spent as profitably as he possibly could have done. Here is hoping he can sustain this growth.

No, I'm not in the springtime of life here, though sometimes I still feel that way. But there is the tension between autumn and spring in this poem that I wanted highlight, and so I'm glad that came through. Many thanks for your thoughts...

Thank you, Adi. There is perspective (or age, if you like) here, along with commitment. So glad you liked it.
  20. Funny, but I never thought about cologne for the A to Z characters. But Andy often associated his experience with the scent of hay and barn, and he knew Zander's swimming pool scent, too, so maybe that counts...

Tim, your comment made me smile and realize how lucky I truly am. I am so glad you liked this,

I am glad you were moved, as I was in writing it. Also glad you caught the contrasts in the quatrains, as they weren't originally that way in draft. Thanks so much.

Thank you for telling me how this made you feel. It was kind of like a dam broke when it all came together. Gratefully, Parker

    Incense

I felt much taken by this remembrance and prayer. It seems as much for us as for Jim, but your life for him brings life to this poem.
