Just wondered, as I've had a burger there with beetroot, pineapple etc. That type of enormous burger is mentioned in Circumnavigation; it's an Aussie speciality (along with pie floaters).

Sapper isn't a name, it's a job title. Sappers build bridges, roads etc.

I've only seen frozen faggots in shops, never on a menu,it would be a very specialised restaurant to serve them . Being British I know what they are. We burn the other kind (bundles of sticks).

Well have you tired apologizing. Tried. are trying to pick at woulds that have barely begun . Wounds. Ruin in the last line should be ruined. Falling fast first onto his bed he . Fast first seems superfluous. Two "for the night"s in the same sentence, the second wasn't needed. Sorry, I seem to be allowing my inner editor out, I'll try to rein it in. -
Line 5, conscience not conscious , common mistake,spotted it a few times in stories. Choking up, not chocking up. "He didn’t want to believe that this may be the last time he spoke with him." As this was about his whole family, surely "them" , not "him"?

Actually, re the hair, I remember going to Jersey zoo, the one in the English Channel, a New Guinea Pink Pigeon kept trying to give me bits of straw through the glass, I think it thought I had a nest on my head.

You're occasionally getting your and you're mixed up, and in his dad's text message in the previous chapter , he seems to describe the in-laws as sandwiches ( they're in bread). Like the story. Conceited,conceded.
