Faxing the documents would have got copies out faster , so long as it wasn't to a thermal fax (we have these important docs, oh shit, they've faded). Most businesses then had a fax machine, I suspect Wade would have one at home. Just in case anything happens to them on the way home.

You mentioned in a previous chapter that some people believe that victory in the Falklands won Maggie the election (I'm one of them and that she won on the deaths of British soldiers and sailors), if there's no war, does she lose? She was behind in the polls, as soon as Britain won, she called an election on the sudden upswing of her popularity. Unlike the USA, we didn't have fixed term parliaments, just a maximum of 5 years.

Christie didn't like her portrayal. Jane Marple was a demure character in the books , JH was the one who's portrayal followed that most, sitting quietly knitting , observing without being noticed. Maybe asking innocuous questions , being thought harmless & senile, until her final reveal. Margaret Rutherford totally changed the character, she may be called Marple, but is nothing like Christie's creation.
