Ben Aaronovitch has a popular series of books about a little known small dept in the Met (London) police for people with powers (magic in that case) battling strange and occult events. This is at a similar level of professionalism, with a similar tone (mix of humour etc.),the only thing I can think of that would stop a series possibly selling would be (gay) sex scenes. Limits the marketplace. BA's series has the (rather inept, he's learning) hero dating a goddess instead. It also embellishes on real places & history, eg. the piggeries of Notting Hill.

Soccer was a bad example of a sport with no out players,there are some. Not many, but some. Okay, you can list them on the fingers of one hand, even if that hand has been in an industrial accident involving a chainsaw. 3 or 4, but one is a Czech international player.

I asked because I've seen weary used a lot when the authors meant wary. It's a common mistake, like lose/loose or definitely/defiantly.

I turned over the page and saw the front of this house plastered in the newspaper article; it’s probably the reason why she had bodyguards due to the recent incident of a failed home robbery and possibly why she seemed weary. Is she weary through lack of sleep due to the failed robbery, or should that be wary?

I'm reading that tale at the moment. There's a reference in one of the earlier chapters that seems to allude to this group. I think it's set before the first dragon kill, around the time the caravan was trying break through. For now that is, as he went from student to Premier very quickly.

Um, yes you can. Escape velocity is a scalar not vector quantity. It should be escape speed. Sorry, just spotted that I was beaten to it.

It's not really adult youth in a sexual sense (makes a change for nifty), it's more of a paternal non sexual relationship on the part of the narrator. Any adult youth sex is more background, abuse by the kid's father and other men, not explicit (again, rare for nifty). Basically abused young teen runs away from home to escape being beaten/prostituted out by his dad, gets taken in and raised by horrified single man and his friends.

I've been reading love on the rocks since it started. Something seems odd about the last chapter posted, at the end it seems like Marcus has posted his plot notes rather than the actual chapter. A site that will be going is tedious dot com. I hope Tiger Paw's can you spare a quarter gets posted elsewhere.

Shaving it would be a major cultural tragedy. Also, I’d have nothing to hold on to when I take you from … oops, sorry lads, you probably think that’s too much information.’ He got there in the end.
