  1. We're making sausage-and-sage stuffing, garlic redskin mashed potatoes with gravy, and turkey. Also, a honey-glazed spiral ham. Mickey and the in-laws are bringing appetizers, rolls, and dessert. Deirdre is bringing twice-baked sweet potatoes and homemade cranberry sauce. Which is just about all she can manage with two little boys. 😀
  2. For some reason, this song is so catchy. Is it the lyrics? Is it young Merrick Hanna's dance moves? Who knows!
  3. Jeez, Merrick! IDK if it's the music or what, but there's something "extra" with his dancing, on top of his usual talent. 😂
  4. Hey, Xander, Dennis, Jordan, and Ash! *waves to the foster kids* Things are cold and rainy, but the snow is hopefully gone until Christmas.
  5. He has an emotional support dragon named Falkor. And a support dog named Cookie.
  6. Bold choice to wear white pants while trekking through the woods.
  7. Hey, Xander, Dennis, Jordan and Ash! And a hearty pat on the back to your foster son, for giving it his best effort. *pats* As long as he has fun with it, that's his prerogative.
  8. You also risk snapping some bones!
  9. @Comicality Ruel, and Shawn Mendes? I can't even, right now! *faints*
  10. Hey, Bumble B. Hey, Dugh, Mum, and Thistle. *scratches Thistle behind the ears*
  11. Eeeeewwwww! Fungus! I think I'll pass. But thank you for thinking of me, Bertie. True that. Nope. I'm exactly the opposite. I like onions, and pea soup is good as long as it isn't too stodgy. Mushrooms, though, are gross in my opinion. Unfortunately, Mickey likes them, and a couple of years back, he wanted to contribute a dish to the Thanksgiving table. So, of course, he chose stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer.
  12. The Value of X is the first book in the series, but Liquor doesn't appear to be dependent on the events of that title.
  13. I found a small wheel of Gouda cheese in the fridge that had gone unused. At some point, a tiny hole was torn in the shrink wrap. It was still edible, but very dry with a bitter aftertaste. almost like a Raclette. Cheese does funny things as it ages.
  14. Hey, Marty. Hey, Albert. Did you know, Finn Wolfhard had his own band? It's called "Calpurnia", but they recently announced they were splitting up. The music is still good, though.
  15. I've had that same problem with ingredients. I look at a block of cheese, and say "What was I going to cook with this?" I guess I need to write a list of recipes, including components.
  16. I'm reading Prime, by Poppy Z. Brite. The sequel to Liquor. Two years after the opening of Liquor, New Orleans chefs Rickey and G-man are immersed in the life of their restaurant, enjoying a loyal cast of diners, and cooking great booze-laced food. All’s well until a bad review in a local paper not-so-subtly hints that their “silent” backer, celebrity chef Lenny Duveteaux, has ulterior motives. When Lenny is accused of serious criminal activity by eccentric D.A. Placide Treat, Rickey and G-man realize it may be time to end their dependence on him. When Rickey is offered a plum consulting job at a Dallas restaurant, it seems the perfect way to beef up their bank account. But taking the gig will mean a reunion with Cooper Stark, the older chef with whom Rickey shared an unsettling cocaine-fueled encounter back in culinary school, as well as dealing with gung-ho Texas businessman/restaurateur Frank Firestone. At G-man’s urging, Rickey finally accepts the offer and revamps Firestone’s menu to rave reviews. Home in New Orleans, Rickey has just settled back into his daily kitchen routine when he receives disturbing information that forces his return to Dallas. As Placide Treat’s machinations grow ever more bizarre, G-man learns that there’s more to the story—and that Rickey is in Texas-size danger.
  17. This chapter went about as well as I expected, Comsie! I can already see the wheels turning for Scotty and Artie. Tristan has to tread carefully now, though, or poor Scotty will be heartbroken. I wouldn't change a thing about this chapter! I look forward to the next one!
  18. Hey, Tea Bat.
  19. We're all doing well, thanks. Morgan got a raise at work, and Mickey and Remy are doing well in school. Rory is struggling a bit, academically, so he's had to attend tutoring sessions. Which means he can't hang out with his buddies as much as he'd like.
  20. I love NCIS! Have you guys kept up with the new season? Hey, Xander, Dennis, Jordan, and Ash! *waves to the foster kids*
  21. Hey, Dugh, Mum, and Thistle. *scratches for Thistle*
  22. Fried pickles are delicious, Albert and I both agree.
  23. He was directing that comment to me, actually.
  24. Grilled cheese sandwiches and fried pickles, here.
